I'll start with skinny co pornstar martini mix. Tasted incredibly sweet and synthetic. It stated use 1 part vodka to 3 parts mix. I tried that too sweet added more vodka so 50/50 just about drinkable. I drank another one with the reverse ratios, almost OK but I was so drunk I fell over and knocked the TV over.

The other downside was that it stank so much so that my empty glass had made the whole room stink.

I hate my shark lift away Hoover so much! It doesn’t have enough auction for wooded floors and it has so much suction on the carpet that I can hardly move it!
One of the attachments is really good for the car though

MyMummyHasGotABigBottom · 11/08/2021 21:42

@TillyTopper

Cordless Dyson - dies after 20 mins. I also bought a steam mop but sent it back as the lead was so short I couldn't do even 1/2 room at a time.
How big are your rooms?!! 😬😬 we have a shark steam mop and I think it’s amazing. Better if you do it more often though so the washable pads aren’t immediately gritty 😂 can’t do all my downstairs with it but only have to use two plug points.

Biggest regret: spending £25k on a horse that was dishonestly advertised as being ‘safe for a nervous rider and bombproof in traffic’, which in the first week reared up and threw me into oncoming traffic, requiring a trip to hospital with a broken arm and punctured lip. Needless to say the horse was returned to his previous owner and £25k refunded!

Flipping heck , my last one cost £500 and was a complete poppet and I am a truly rubbish rider so he could have taken liberties Wink

Love my Panasonic Breadmaker - the only time I've had brick like bread was using Allinson flour
With Sainsbury own brand flour and yeast its perfect

Ooo… interesting. Thank you for that 😊 These?

Lol that's funny

@Imicola

An epilator. I now have chronic ingrown hair issues which are a pain.
Try a Phillips Lumea. I got rid of my epilator because of the persistent ingrowing hairs. Love my IPL effects! (No I don't work for them. I got hooked from a MN thread on Style and Beauty)

Mmm.. pics haven’t attached. Trying again

@BecauseMyRingBurnsSheila could you do it sitting on the sofa watching the telly?

BecauseMyRingBurnsSheila · 11/08/2021 21:46

@suckingonchillidogs

Lakeland heated clothes dryer - it's too big and ugly!
But an absolute lifesaver in autumn and spring when it's too warm for radiators but too cold for anything to dry. With the cover on it's brilliant. Does need storing for 6 months of the year though.
Surprisedpikachu · 11/08/2021 21:46

Apple Watch. Just a bit meh. And it always needs charging

BecauseMyRingBurnsSheila · 11/08/2021 21:46

@MeredithGreyishblue yes absolutely definitely. I do it listening to podcasts.

Snap I ditched mine and went back to Fitbit.

A Lay-Z-Spa hot tub (the blow up type). Lots of maintenance required, the pumps are really finicky, the damn thing got punctured several times. We ended up never using it anyway. Took the (broken) lot to the tip!

thefirstmrsrochester · 11/08/2021 21:49

Yes to All Saints leather jackets. Bought two, never wore them. DD has them now.

KitchenAid stand mixer. Used maybe three times. Beautiful to look at, took up too much space. DD has it now.

Smeg fridge in baby blue. Took up too much space for the amount of food it could accommodate and looked out of place in the kitchen rather than being the quirky statement piece I anticipated it being. DD has it now.

I’ve arrived at the conclusion that I buy things for my much younger self, hence DD benefitting from my less than practical purchases.

ElephantCup · 11/08/2021 21:50

Nutri bullet

EspressoDoubleShot · 11/08/2021 21:50

Yes I bought one of those, gave it away

Lanique · 11/08/2021 21:51

Surprised at the Air fryer hate. I'm a recent convert and I love ours!

I once spent £1000 on a bed from M&S and it was the most appalling wobbly piece of shite. They wouldn't take it back so I ended up selling it for significantly less than I paid for it. Then I bought a replacement bed from a proper cast iron bed company which cost us another £2000.

Flights to Krakow the wrong week so they were wasted. Flights to Edinburgh and then decided to stay home and work on the kitchen. Flights to Croatia which have had to be moved two years running and each time having to pay extra because easyJet.

A dyson vacuum - went back to the Henry. It's surely no coincidence that every cleaner I've had has had one too.

Lanique · 11/08/2021 21:54

Oh yes - and a slow juicer. It was great while the novelty lasted but it was huge, heavy, impossible to store, hard to clean, fiddly to prep all the veg into tiny pieces, and SLOW. Then the parts started to break and I gave up with it. It wasn't cheap either!

My Bungalow!!!

Really! God, I'd love a bungalow.

Oh how interesting my dyson hairdryer is one of my best buys ever. Light fast leaves my hair so soft and shiny. My mistakes are anything from Boden. I keep buying things that look amazing. I try them on they look awful on me and I send them back. I’ve been doing this for 10 years. I obviously don’t learn.
I find that approx 1/10 Boden purchases actually look nice on me.
stayathomer · 11/08/2021 21:57

TheWeeDonkeyFella

My house - got scumbag neighbours.
Sad

Condenser dryer- not suitable at all for any load- 8kg drum and they tell you to only dry 2kg at a time. Nothing comes out dry! In 4 years time I'm banging a hole in the wall, smashing the dryer and getting a top of the range dryer, if I have to sell dh to get it!

Also every cheap primer ever. All the money spent and I could in theory have bought an expensive one (have 40+ rosacea prone dry sensitive skin!!)

Also cheap pencils for the kids, you can't pare them!!

user1471538283 · 11/08/2021 22:01

My last house.

Shark Liftaway. Needy. Breathless. Smelly wanker.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
QueenofLouisiana · 11/08/2021 22:02

Another Shark vacuum to add to the pile. The comb doesn’t stop long hair tangling up. We had to cut the hair off the roll again today (my hair is halfway down my back), the tube blocks so frequently that I keep a garden cane in the larder especially for unblocking it and the gap between the suction chamber and the dust chamber blocks constantly.
Other than that, it’s great.
