I'll start with skinny co pornstar martini mix. Tasted incredibly sweet and synthetic. It stated use 1 part vodka to 3 parts mix. I tried that too sweet added more vodka so 50/50 just about drinkable. I drank another one with the reverse ratios, almost OK but I was so drunk I fell over and knocked the TV over.

The other downside was that it stank so much so that my empty glass had made the whole room stink.

Shark cordless vacuum. Supposed to be good for hair. It’s awful. We got them to replace first one as thought faulty but second is same. I shout at adverts when they come on tv. I assume they pay people for reviews S reviews were good.

Shark Vacuum cleaner. Shockingly shit. Traded it in for a secondhand DysonVacuum DC04. Much better!

I've had my shark for about 8 years- love it. Much prefer it to the shit Dyson i had.

I really like my Shark cordless. It does block but comes into so many pieces it's easy to remove the blockage. And the headlights are brilliant at showing me where the dogs hair lies. Horses for courses I suppose.

But a good one… wouldn’t block!

I spent £400 on a Duo Fertility monitor. I’m not sure if they are still being sold these days. I was desperate to get pregnant after years of trying and had so many hopes pinned on this. It didn’t help me get pregnant in the end. IVF did.

Everything I bought in lockdown.. Needed none of it. Especially the electric scrappy thing to use instead of the hygienist and a mat with spikey bits on it to lie on for a sore back.

Smallkeys · 12/08/2021 17:51

Agree dualit toaster complete waste of money along with the cordless dyson

joinedduetodunkthread · 12/08/2021 17:51

And my marriagr

For me, and this might be a timely reminder, it's those 'investment' articles of clothing I'm tempted by when the season starts to change. Last year it was some slate brown, wide leg corduroy trousers from Toast. They look like a farmer wore them for mucking out before eventually donating them to a charity shop after years of use. I just wish I'd realised and sent them back before I wore them.

Spent several thousand on new bathroom, love it but everyone said water pressure was rubbish and we really should get a water pump.

I absolutely hate the thing, OK you get a more powerful shower (not sure why anyone actually needs to be blasted clean but each to their own) but it is also connected to every tap and toilet in the house. If the GC are staying at night it is a nightmare.

Pliudev · 12/08/2021 17:56

I know what you mean Marmite but it's usually when I've picked up a bit of plastic or something and the dog hairs have wrapped around it. I only have a Jack Russel but by rights he should be bald.

I love my Shark but mine isn't cordless, maybe that makes a difference?
masterblaster · 12/08/2021 17:57

I find it much easier bought from Tesco :)

Queenbee77 · 12/08/2021 17:59

Put your stuff on Ebay, Vinted or a similar site and sell for money! I have sold everything from bobbins to cars. Also bought a lot if stuff. I never spend much on anything. But I have made the odd mistake. A desk from Ikea which cost £350 It was massive and my son didnt like it. It then sat in daughters room and next in mine...we hated it....you would pull desk out and it was not really comfortable to lean on when you had your laptop on it. It was a monatosity in any bedroom and ended up in livingroom....I thought of it like my office...but still didnt like it. Advertised it everywhere for weeks. Even local Co op. Then avertiseed for freecycle on freecycle. No takers! It got put out by bins and severwl weeks later the rain had made it.fall apart and we put bits in bin and rest got took to tip. It was 17 years ago and I still remember.

Memory foam mattress. So uncomfortable for my back.
Samsung tablet. Hate it. I need to type on keys and if I want to tap, my phone is far more convenient.
Slow cooker. Everything tastes the same from it.
Modern design sink in downstairs loo. It is a bad design and water flows from it onto the floor every time it is used.
Solid wood floor on hall. It is not suitable for high traffic and looks wrecked after just a few years. Yes I could have it sanded and redone but it shouldn't be necessary to do this already. I would tile it if doing it again.
Exercise equipment. It is now old but it has barely been used.
Too many clothes/beauty/hair products to mention!

trappedsincesundaymorn · 12/08/2021 18:01

My car. I was not allowed to test drive it (bought it in October), if I had I would never have bought it. I can't afford to replace it so I'm stuck with it.

Batshittery · 12/08/2021 18:01

@Laiste. I love your description of the the pool Grin

I have to say, that of all the shit I have bought, my Shark vac is not part of it. The suction is fabulous, but it is very lazy and falls over. All.The.Fucking.Time

Elvisismycat · 12/08/2021 18:06

Foreo Bear.
Been using every day for a month and haven't noticed a bloody difference! Nearly £300 wasted

what?
Thisisnotreallymyname · 12/08/2021 18:12

Steam mop

igelkott2021 · 12/08/2021 18:12

Lots of mascaras that I end up being allergic to. They create green gunk in the corners of my eyes. Fortunately the current Lumene one I got in an advent calendar does not.

Not "things" but running race entries. There are loads I have entered but not done because I've been injured/too lazy/something else has come up etc. I've wasted a lot of money on them, so I am very careful about how many races I enter now.

Fluffmum · 12/08/2021 18:12

Smeg kettle. It’s like a work out picking it up

Bloodypunkrockers · 12/08/2021 18:14
