I'll start with skinny co pornstar martini mix. Tasted incredibly sweet and synthetic. It stated use 1 part vodka to 3 parts mix. I tried that too sweet added more vodka so 50/50 just about drinkable. I drank another one with the reverse ratios, almost OK but I was so drunk I fell over and knocked the TV over.

The other downside was that it stank so much so that my empty glass had made the whole room stink.

@AlmostSummer21

Vax cordless

Bloody expensive &Bloody useless! ALL Mn's fault for raving about them & linking to the annual sale. (Still cost a bloody fortune!)

Ended up giving it to a friend who uses it upstairs to save her carrying her hoover up. She's kept it so I presume she's happy enough with it, dunno

Henry is heavy, but I love him!!

I also love my vax cordless! Beats my Dyson any day.
Sunshineandflipflops · 12/08/2021 08:00

@summercupcake

Steam mop

Dyson vacuum

I love my steam mop too! Not used a normal mop for months!
Thelikelylass · 12/08/2021 08:01

@BecauseMyRingBurnsSheila

I do love my little handheld G-Tech though. The short one. Great for weaning and cleaning up the kitchen/under the table. Bought the car cleaning extension pack and never opened it though 😂
i bought one last week - I used it in the car. On the bed headboard. To hoover chimney soot from the fireplace. On the landing. On the front door mat. On the kitchen surface when I spilt something. On the dog. The dog likes to be hoovered. I LOVE it.
Changemaname1 · 12/08/2021 08:11

@MeredithGreyishblue 😂😂 totally agree about the shark vacuum, mine is dramatic as hell can’t wait to replace it !

Franklyfrost · 12/08/2021 08:12

Dyson hoover. I assumed because it was expensive it would be amazing but it just doesn’t pick anything up.

Long live Henry

Amdone123 · 12/08/2021 08:22

A juicer.
I had visions of kale and spinach smoothies for breakfast but it turns out I prefer potato cakes.

OneinNine · 12/08/2021 08:30

An Ercol sofa. Looked nice but so very, very uncomfortable. It took dh and I over a year though to admit to each other it was a terrible mistake and to get rid. Also a double bed with a wooden frame that was too big for the room and meant we couldn't access the rest of the furniture. Also got rid. We actually bought these on the same day when clearly neither of us were thinking straight. Sticking to second-hand stuff from now on and then I care less if it is a disaster.

Gertie75 · 12/08/2021 08:31

Wooden flooring.
I was told it was so much easier because I have dogs, rubbish, I had to sweep, mop and dry the thing before I could stand on it and even then it would show footprints in the areas by the patio door so only every looked properly clean for around 7.5 seconds.
People suggested I put large rugs over it but what's the point in having wooden floor of in going to cover it on large squares of carpet? Which, I'll then have to roll up every time I have to mop the damn thing.

We put up with it for just over a year then went back to carpet, very expensive mistake but at least now I only have to run the vac over it and it's done.

Upwherethebirdsfly · 12/08/2021 08:31

Sewing machine (never use it - wanted to be crafty but wasn’t ready to admit I have no skills).
Roller skates - because I love them when I was 10 (I’m late 30s).
Dyson V11
Dualit toaster - absolute tat

Crazycat53 · 12/08/2021 08:31

@eekbumbler yes I was insured.

CommonPersonLikeMe · 12/08/2021 08:36

Some of these are making me laugh so much.

Winemewhynot · 12/08/2021 08:39

I vote shark steam mop its shit!

Also next2me cot for us was a waste of money, baby refused point blank to sleep in it but would peacefully sleep 5cm over on my mattress 😂

I’ve got a couple of things that have been nominated, the Dyson airwrap I like but it’s not worth the money the curls don’t hold or curl enough I think. Also got the ninja foodie which I really like! Makes great salmon!

Toomuchtodoo · 12/08/2021 08:42

Silk pillowcase. Just made my face sweaty.
Juicer. Too many parts to clean and not really that healthy when you stop to think about it
Spiralizer. Fun for about a week but fairly pointless.
Cullottes. Every summer I buy a pair. But I never know what to wear them with. And they don't really suit me.
But I see them in the shop and think maybe this style of cullottes will better on than last year's. Nope.
The back of my wardrobe is a cullottes graveyard
I do the same thing with white jeans Confused

IcedPurple · 12/08/2021 08:44

A spiraliser. Remember they were all the rage a few years back?

Such a faff positioning all the veggies just so, and grinding away for ages, with the only reward being a few stringy carrots. And there is something rather sad and dismal about courgette 'pasta'. Very Deliciously Ella.

The spiraliser is the 2017 version of the fondue set.

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 12/08/2021 08:48

Another one regretting the shark cordless, loved it for over a year despite it being hard to clean but the screws holding it all together appear to be plastic and are gradually shearing off less than three years later, DH has just added a metal bracket to hold it together as the screws in the middle section broke and it went all useless and floppy. Customer service at shark are crap too, emailed twice and no response at al 😡

Winemewhynot · 12/08/2021 08:51

As a woman who has done keto pre wedding and post baby, never a truer word has been spoken Grin

whataboutbob · 12/08/2021 08:53

@AdditionalCharacter

My ex council house! Finding problem after problem whenever we are decorating a room. Costing me so much more than I anticipated.
I have an ex council flat. I’ve been redecorating and on stripping the lining paper it turns out there’s no plaster on the walls, they appear to be bare concrete. Mould has been growing between the wall and lining paper, stripping the paper off is painfully slow and hard work.
conxray · 12/08/2021 08:55

Laminate flooring which never looks clean. I just can't get it clean without it ending up with smears and footprints all over it. So disappointed. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. It looks like a permanent mess.

pistachioicecream · 12/08/2021 09:00

A sofa we bought off the internet without ever sitting on it.... so uncomfortable. We've suffered for 5 years but have a new one coming next month (that we did sit on before buying)!!

The dog. She is very loved and has a great life but I deeply regret the decision. I miss my old life very much. If I had a time machine I wouldn't do it again.

muddyford · 12/08/2021 09:08

Bissell carpet shampooer. Used once, too much hassle.

FloconDeNeige · 12/08/2021 09:11

@IcedPurple

I have to say that fondue sets get a lot of autumn/winter use here in Switzerland. We always look forward to the clocks going back and the return of cooler weather to crack it out!

You can buy a multitude of pre-mixed fondue cheeses at the supermarket, particularly in winter, so it couldn’t be easier 😁

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 12/08/2021 09:23

Slow cooker. Had to brown most things before putting them in anyway or it tastes rubbish. What's the point?

Shark vacuum after seeing people rave about it on here. Too to heavy with a stick lite stick for the hoover bit. Bounced over the carpets. Sent it back and got another gtech.
Vinegar for cleaning, cheap as chips, but that's the only thing it should be used for, even then rarely. Just stinks your house out.

TheMissingMango · 12/08/2021 09:24

Kenwood K-mix stand mixer. The bastard glass bowl is stuck (again) so I can't clean it. It needs to be binned but I hate to toss it. They once sent me a new ring for under the bowl, but I would need to replace it every time I use it. Angry

Karcher window cleaner - such a faff and leaves streaks. It's easier to use spray and a cloth.

Instant Pot - getting to pressure etc means it doesn't actually save time.

However, our Dualit toaster is still going strong after 13 years! Surprised so many people hate theirs.

Sloth66 · 12/08/2021 09:41

Soup maker, spiraliser,juicer.
All of them now busy gathering dust in the cupboard…..

LordOfTheThings · 12/08/2021 09:43

Oh I love my instant pot!
