Good luck Sunbird 🤞🏻

DC are about to do a Swim Safe session on the beach with the RNLI, they are very excited. A parent/guardian has to stay with them. I nominate DH so I can have a wander and a cup of tea in a cafe with my Kindle round the seaside town we have travelled to.

It’s not wonderful news - there were two baby bears but I’ve lost one a few weeks back and the other has a heartbeat but is nearly 2 weeks smaller than it should be so could possibly go either way right now. Have to have another scan in about a week to see what it does…

MissConductUS · 10/08/2021 16:53

Sunbird, I'm so sorry the news wasn't better. Flowers

@Silkiecats

Plus I am getting in training for our holiday in Devon and Cornwall where you have to eat scones with clotted cream and jam at least once a day so I need to build up to this.

Yep it is the law around there. Ice creams too must be eaten!

Sunbird24 · 10/08/2021 17:02

@Deathraystare you must remember to put the jam & cream on in the correct order for whichever side of the Tamar bridge you’re on, you could start a riot otherwise!

Deathraystare · 10/08/2021 17:04

Talking of food, I have got to 61 and now decided I detest cauliflower! Actually I don't mind it raw in salad. I would probably still not mind it in a thick cheesey sauce but my God! I had Cauliflower 'buffalo wings' which had a little spice on them but not enough to hide the fact that cauliflower takes manky and smells musty (no it wasn't out of date). It is just not a lovely veg.

Right! Glad I got that off my chest!!!

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 10/08/2021 17:35

Cauliflower 'buffalo wings' - I had to google that... You can do so lovely things with cauliflower without drowning it in cheese or batter.

We managed to get a coat for DS with large pockets. Not a joyful experience.

Champagneforeveryone · 10/08/2021 18:44

So sorry the news wasn't better sunbird and fingers crossed going forward Flowers

Silkiecats · 10/08/2021 18:46

Sorry to hear your news Sunbird.

Dd is now out with more friends.

Gingerwarthog · 10/08/2021 18:47

Sunbird-sorry to hear this. A waiting game is horrible.

Gingerwarthog · 10/08/2021 18:49

Being back in the pool made me realise how much I have missed swimming. So we have booked another session on Friday.
Plus the hot chocolates at the pool cafe were the best of the whole Summer so far.
Making prawn and chicken curry for dinner.

mathanxiety · 10/08/2021 19:20

Flowers Sunbird.

Silkiecats · 10/08/2021 19:58

I had tidied and cleaned upstairs as plumber coming tomorrow at 8am. Now dh has decided to take the small bed apart and put all the bits everywhere upstairs and also bring all his bookcase bits in and leave them all downstairs.

Squirrel26 · 10/08/2021 20:00

I’m so sorry you didn’t get better news, @Sunbird24.

One of my friends ordered a ‘cauliflower steak’ once in a restaurant. It was literally a slice of cauliflower. And it was £10. (It didn’t even come with chips.)

Silkiecats · 10/08/2021 20:02

I do like cauliflower but do tend to have it either covered in gravy or cauliflower cheese with a roast dinner or I a veg curry. Bit bland on its own though I love the look of baby cauliflowers.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 10/08/2021 20:27

My DM used to do a lovely fried cauliflower and beef stew in a Römertopf (no idea if that type of pot was even a thing in other areas).

Nydj · 10/08/2021 21:21

@Sunbird24 Flowers

Silkiecats · 11/08/2021 01:36

4 items are out for council collection tomorrow at 6am.

I asked DH to bring Silkiecat to bed and he said he could bring her for me but he didn't want her. Silkie cat immediately went to lye on DH who cuddled her, he is now asleep and Silkiecat was licking his fingers whilst he sleeps. She is now going to sleep on him.

Silkiecats · 11/08/2021 06:08

Silkiecat woke up with dhs alarm but she is going on small paws and walking on the wall beam as she is scared of the bed bits dh brought up.

Gingerwarthog · 11/08/2021 07:44

Going to the supermarket today.
May buy cauliflower Grin

Silkiecats · 11/08/2021 09:15

DD has just been to the shop and got jam doughnuts and flat peaches so I continued my low carb diet with 2 jam doughnuts and 1 flat peach. I will now have a cup of tea.

Baconking · 11/08/2021 09:23

I've already got 2 washing loads hanging out, a 3rd in the machine

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 11/08/2021 10:10

Silkie Admireable!

I'm having 2 slices of bread with 2 slices of young gouda. I have been out to buy washing powder, descaler to add, different kinds of band aids etc.

Silkiecats · 11/08/2021 10:14

Prok I thought it was admirable too and I am so dedicated to my low carb diet I added a third doughnut.

IWanderedLonely · 11/08/2021 13:13

Sorry about yiur news Sunbird Flowers
Used up some time owed to me at work so I could go to the hairdressers. Got the time wrong and arrived 30 minutes early. Better than 30 minutes late I suppose but still annoyed with myself.
