Thanks Maths I don't think I am allergic to meds, I am allergic to thatch and hay though and live in a thatched cottage.

I have ME as well SoloISland

Can hear electrician and DH talking whilst I am still quite ill. Electrician says you have a thatch roof, you need to speak to insurance company. DH No. This conservation is repeated x 5. The electrician then tells DH if your house burns down your insurance could be invalid. DH Oh that's my wife I can not deal with insurance. Luckily I can hear conversation. Grin

Also heard the electrician go gosh there is a rabbit running loose around here. And DH oh yes rabbit goes everywhere. I forgot to give the rabbit warning. He apparently was in hiding then was his usual bouncy self. He always runs circles round people standing on his back paws looking cute asking for food. DH also told him we had a carpenter. But that was 3 years ago and he didn't reply so I told DH not to tell the plumber our carpenter is sorted. Though sure we will get same conversation again.

I am wearing my cream Zara coat for the second day in a row. It was much complimented on yesterday and I’m looking forward to similar today.

Silkiescatz · 16/09/2021 09:03

Just realised I sent DDs sickness emails to wrong school today and yesterday, oops. Blush

I used to have a cream coat. I tried it on in the shop and a girl came up to me and said you look amazing you must buy that. I did and got lots of compliments then got filmed one day walking in it at night by TV crew and then saw myself on the news as it was election night and I was shown on one on the news headlines walking saying people from x political party had been seen leaving early, it was about 3am and clip was just me. Clearly no one famous had left. The coat looked amazing with all their flashes. It was amusing as they said inside the building would be dejected but infact there was a massive party with unlimited champagne going on and I was just tired so off back to hotel.

I ordered a soft toy singing puffin and a soft toy singing kingfisher from the RSPB shop as DS loves his birds. They are 13cms high. DD will point out to me these are not essential items. Grin

Nydj · 16/09/2021 10:02

We did punting with someone else doing the hard work. Dh has ear infection and had to go hospital yesterday for antibiotics. My sympathy is somewhat limited by the fact that he has form for ignoring ailments before holidays and then spending holidays being unwell and putting a downer on things for everyone.
We are not touring around UK - just staying in Cambridge. May go home early because I do realise it’s horrible being unwell and not being able to access your own bed. Good news is that the antibiotics should ensure that DH is well enough to go back to work on Monday 🤣

Squirrel26 · 16/09/2021 10:11

It’s OK, non-essential items are allowed now. Possibly even encouraged in the name of helping the economy?

I can’t find my pen. I assume someone has stolen it.

Silkiescatz · 16/09/2021 10:52

Sorry your DH is ill Nydj and hope you have a good rest of holiday. Hope you aren't flying back as ear infections and flying don't mix well.

Squirrel The essential item thing is not covid, its because DD often asks for about £50 worth of items a day and I say is that essential? So every time I buy something non-essential she points it out and that I could have bought her x instead which normally costs about 5 times the amount.

Plumber came and dh also told him I was incharge of all plumbing decisions Confused and rabbit was bouncing around again.

Champagneforeveryone · 16/09/2021 10:58

It seems we may have no internet until Monday now.

I have to switch the lamps on myself, like the darkest days of the 19th century Wink

CatLady93 · 16/09/2021 11:07

Hello everyone, joining here to share the news that this morning I farted in the direction of our oscillating fan. The stench quickly wafted back with the power of the fan into the nose of my sleeping DP. He awoke with a sharp inhale. Proud.

Squirrel26 · 16/09/2021 13:17

Helicopter. One day one of the branches is going to be blown off the tree next door.

QuestionableMouse · 16/09/2021 13:21

I've just had a nap and now I'm eating a caramel doughnut from Greggs.

Nydj · 16/09/2021 13:24

Thanks @Silkiescatz, no flights and, in fact, a short drive home of under two hours so all good. I hope you feel better soon too.

SoloISland · 16/09/2021 14:36

Strong wind but the ferry went over and … soon.... my two weeks of groceries will arrive then I can eat and sleep.... bliss.... oh and a long overdue parcel arrived from the USA.
Cat is sleeping all day.. not seen two of them today yet.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 16/09/2021 16:18

I was woken at 4:30 this morning by a cock crowing in a nokia sort of way. DH was off to the South with work and visiting his DM, I decided to go into work early. He'll be back at around 2 am.

RantyAunty · 16/09/2021 17:03

It's 2am here and I'm not sleepy so decided to read mumsnet for awhile. I've been wearing my noise cancelling headphones for quite a while but not listening to anything. Funny as soon as I typed sleepy, I'm started to be sleepy but I need to get up and pee first but procrastinating.

Lolabray · 16/09/2021 17:23

I have cleaned the dirty kitchen at work in preparation for another team coming back in next week.

Gingerwarthog · 16/09/2021 18:43

Non-essential items bought today:
Black currant 'boudoir' candle
Fluffy 'waffle' grey dressing gown (to replace motheaten old leopard print one)

Gingerwarthog · 16/09/2021 18:48

Have just realised that my non- essential purchases make it sound as if I may be planning something glamorous.
This is not the case.
This evening will be spent watching a programme about a house and its occupants through time, brushing the cat and nagging DD to eat vegetables.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 16/09/2021 19:05

E-Mail from DS's school - still status green and no covid cases, so full f2f lessons next week and as yet no complaints.

He needs socks, larger sizes.

Silkiescatz · 16/09/2021 19:29

That's good no covid cases Prok We have a lot here and now you have to send your child to school if their sibling tests positive and they have none of three main symptoms. 2 of DDs friends she shared a drink with on Sunday have tested positive on Tuesday on LFT. Though she drank before them.

We are all in now and like the plague house. I can taste nothing but I must have got mine from DH who also couldn't taste anything but tested negative. DD is negative on LFT but we all have same symptoms as her friends who test positive.

Hobbycraft order has arrived, the first instalment at least. Also non-essential but less glamorous than Ginger's purchases. I ordered a whiteboard, some Xmas stuff to decorate, stationary, small polar bears, llama and robins decorations, and by mistake I ordered 20 whiteboard pens. I am not very with it at the moment and many random errors are happening. I am not sure it is wise of DH to put me currently incharge of electrics in a thatched house though I have sent all the information off.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 16/09/2021 19:39

Silkie Keep away from fire and sparky stuff, take to your sofa and plan decorations in your head - everybody will understand Grin, you are just keeping them safe. You can don a hi-viz vest to impress them.

Our boiler (Therme) went on an F22 fault - we had to refill it - it is fine now.

OhWhyNot · 16/09/2021 20:07

I’m making a vegetable curry but ds doesn’t want this 🙄

Little fluffy soldier cat is sitting on kitchen side (as cats do) purring. He does love his mummy 🥰

Silkiescatz · 16/09/2021 20:19

I already did fire and sparky stuff Prok and I decided to try and do decoration / parcel with DD but she said I wasn't making any sense today and seemed to say I was competent enough at the moment to organise decorations.

DD said why did you only 20 whiteboard markers for 1 small white board and why did you order Xmas decorations when its September, neither of those things are rational things to do. Blush

Silkiescatz · 16/09/2021 20:19

was = wasn't
