@imonlyhooman so sorry Flowers how forgiving and loving of you to hope they had a lovely day

Squirrel26 · 08/08/2021 19:28

I can’t remember, @MissConductUS, have you watched Death In Paradise? There are a lot of series, it seems to have been going basically forever.

Silkiecats · 08/08/2021 19:41

Silkiecat has moved from the shelf after about 36 hours to the beam in the middle of the top floor. DH has just moved her to the beam by our bedroom and their is a step by it he can sit and cuddle her. She normally is very indignant about being moved but is staying as she loves DH cuddles and its a good beam.

Ten series so far. Season 11 was filmed earlier this year, and should be showing in the autumn.

Thank you for the welcome Smile
@imonlyhooman I hope had a nice day considering Thanks
@DoctorTwo love The Fast Show. I've been re-watching Shooting Stars, so very funny and unique Grin

DBil sent this picture from their Sunday walk in the Neandertal area.

Silkiecat tried 2 beams and cupboard shelf but now is back on stair shelf, there's nothing quite like a carpetted stair shelf for rainbathing and scratching and cuddles. Dh is playing piano which made Silkiecat really mad as she had cuddling tasks for him. Thankfully dd and ds stepped in.

PhloxOfSheep · 08/08/2021 21:26

Prok I am like your husband. I also use things long past a reasonable point.

DH and I didn't know what to do this evening so we watched Short Circuit.

MissConductUS · 08/08/2021 22:39

Squirrel, Death in Paradise looks fab, but I can only watch it on Prime if I add a Britbox subscription. I am already paying for a PBS (Public Broadcasting Service, sort of our BBC) Masterpiece subscription. It has a lot of British TV that's not on Prime.

When I've watched what looks good on the PBS Masterpiece list I'll cancel it and redirect the money to Britbox. That seems to be the best way to feed my addiction.

DH and DS have dropped off DS's car at the dealership to get serviced and inspected before he takes it back to uni. We've just had a Zoom call with my MIL and DD. DD will be working at her internship right until classes start, so no break to come home. Sad

@MissConductUS

I love Unforgotten. Nicola Walker is fantastic. I watched the first three seasons on Prime and am now watching season four using my PBS Masterpiece subscription, where it is dropping one episode per week.

Can you access all of season four on Prime?

You can but you have to pay $14.99 for the series, which I did, then I realised they hadn't uploaded the last two episodes, so they refunded me. You might be best off just waiting for it all to drop via PBS.

Don't read any spoilers about it before you watch it all.

mathanxiety · 09/08/2021 04:53

MissConduct, I have discovered that the beauty of wearing a mask in church is that you can misread the hymns away to your heart's content, and as long as you're not belting them out, nobody knows you're muddling verses one and three and mixing in another hymn altogether.

Yes, I went to Mass this morning. I decided to go to the early one instead of mid-morning because of the heat and humidity. It was a good decision.

DD3 and I went out for an evening walk on Friday and got caught in a torrential downpour that caught us completely by surprise. DD said, 'I felt a drop', and I said, 'Hopefully it's not bat poop', and DD felt her hair, and the next minute it was as if someone was training a fire department hose on us from above. We found a tiny dry patch under a tree, drenched to the skin, and called DS to see if he could come and rescue us. Then the thunder and lightning started, and we were reconsidering the wisdom of sheltering under a tree when DS showed up. We got caught in heavy summer rain last summer too.

Silkiecat is currently charging round the upstairs of the house Shock Confused

Gingerwarthog · 09/08/2021 05:49

Silkie- so is Wartycat which is why I'm up so early and on MN...

HenrysHome · 09/08/2021 06:31

It's my turn to get up early with ds 10 months. We are staying at my grandparents house for the week. He has been trying to climb into their fireplace for the last half an hour. Am trying to distract him with the shiny metal log tin lid (it's not working).

Silkiecats · 09/08/2021 07:14

DD is up and says she is going to the shop to get breakfast doughnuts and croissants.

Silkiecat is now calm and Silkieshelfcat again, phew. Hope Wartycat is calmer now and your 10 month old hasn't climbed any chimneys.

Gingerwarthog · 09/08/2021 07:43

Wartycat now curled up under the duvet (snoring) and I have put on a huge load of washing.
Winning at life...

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 09/08/2021 08:04

DS is off to school and DD needs to renew her campuscard (student ID, acces to mensa, library and public transport), so she is up, too.
I am printing out the new 'hygiene plan for schools' and then I'll go and work through my to do list ...

Silkiecats · 09/08/2021 08:18

Just washed and put new bedding on our bed which is nice.

Hope your DS school goes well today Prok A month to go here as school is starting back later than normal due to covid testing.

HelenaJustina · 09/08/2021 08:32

I well remember the getting up early with small children and trying to keep them quiet until a reasonable hour.

The forecast for the remainder of our stay is dry, which is great. After yesterday’s torrential downpours we are off to a Waterfall this morning. Though I need to stop procrastinating and go for a run first.

We went to Mass in a tiny village church at 4pm yesterday which was a most peculiar time.

Silkiecats · 09/08/2021 08:44

Glad you have good weather Helena makes quite a difference.

DD said Silkiecat is half on the shelf, half hanging off it and there is a 2 metre drop from it so she moved Silkiecat back on to the shelf. Silkiecat was most indignant about this and moved back to hanging half off the shelf. At least Silkiecat's single bed is underneath the drop but I can see another of Silkiecat's lives being used shortly.

Silkiecats · 09/08/2021 09:41

Just received an e-mail from DDs school about school expectations - school is spelt shool so clearly spelling isn't one of them Grin

MissConductUS · 09/08/2021 11:27

Welcome, @HenrysHome, and thanks for sharing your child supervision news. They can be challenging at that age.

I have been to pick up the food shop, where they only didn't have one thing I needed, and now I'm about to call the garage to book my car in for an MOT and a local doors and windows company for a quote for new front and back doors.
This afternoon we're going to pain the garage door. It's all about doors today.

HenrysHome · 09/08/2021 12:15

Baby is on a nap strike, spent the morning being carried around our day trip destination as the mere sight of the pushchair causes hysteria. Sent daddy back to the car for emergency calpol. Currently sitting on a bench trying to stop cruising ds eating cigarette butts. Enjoying the cat updates!

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 09/08/2021 12:20

phlox be nice to your garage door, it's only doing its job Grin

I could tick most of my to do list off and now I will put my feet up and do nothing apart from vocabs.
