@OhWhyNot

MissConductUS are you sure that isn’t cat furniture that you bought sold as a napkin holder

I’ve made this mistake many times

Lovely Poem, Sue. She doesn't actually sleep on the napkin holder, she keeps an eye on things from there.

@OhWhyNot, your point is well taken. Our two pick some really odd places to hang out.

Lemons, that's great news. I was so glad when I was able to transition my boy to the bottle. He was, shall we say, an aggressive breastfeeder.

I've tossed some almost dead plants off the deck, so the deck garden is looking a little healthier. DH did some more garage clean-out, so the pile for bulk pickup on Friday has grown.

We're going to Zoom with the kids and my MIL shortly, then DH is doing chicken and skirt steak on the grill for dinner. We're back to summer weather for the week, so the AC is back on.

Lemonsandlemonade 🥰 such a lovely time all those cuddles.
That’s such a big decision to make

sueelleker love the poem.

My Fluffy little soldier is at the moment squeezed into a shoe box. Cats will absolutely do as they please

DS took a bath tonight without being reminded. I am not sure this has ever happened before. Shock DH assumed I had told him and I assumed DH had told him but nope.

mathanxiety · 13/09/2021 04:58

It's a 13 gallon bin, @Prokupatuscrakedatus.

If there is a recipe for a Norwegian apple cake, I would make that first.

I need to find my cat, whom I haven't seen for a few hours. I have occasionally had to leave the back door open if she's asleep in the three-season porch just outside the door. I can lock the porch door.

HelenaJustina · 13/09/2021 06:25

One more load of laundry and all the bedding which I changed yesterday will be washed. It’s Monday and I haven’t read a single section of the Sunday paper we bought yesterday.

Squirrel26 · 13/09/2021 09:31

I’m doing an online conference today. It starts at 9.55. I went in a minute ago and there were a lot of people silently hanging out. I left.

Window1 · 13/09/2021 11:31

Hey Squirrel hope you managed to get back in ok. It's awkward isn't it as you can only have one conversation going on and everyone else listening in.

Silkiescatz · 13/09/2021 11:39

Plumber coming round on Thursday, thought I had better warn you as so as not to excite you too much on Thursday. Grin

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 13/09/2021 16:25

silkie Will he be in hi-viz?

Silkiescatz · 13/09/2021 18:11

No that would be too exciting to mention on here Prok DH has slept most of day but has managed to go out to his piano lesson. Silkiecat is asleep. DD has just arrived home as she had a stats lesson after school.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 13/09/2021 18:20

math Eplekake - so I'll work my way from North to South

silkie No hi-viz, just common or garden workmen? One can't have everything.

DD has been to uni, for some f2f work with non virtual humans, she is exhausted.

Silkiescatz · 13/09/2021 18:30

He is coming to look at the boiler and at fitting a dishwasher in the kitchen. Silkiecat hates visitors but loves to inspect after workmen so they are tolerated.

HelenaJustina · 13/09/2021 18:34

@Silkiescatz I have a vision of you issuing a high-viz jacket to the plumber as he comes through the front door.

Silkiescatz · 13/09/2021 20:15

Dd and I now have bad colds and dry throats and dd has been sick with it.

Got a call with the Head tomorrow at 2pm.

I wont be adding any hi vis jackets but have just eaten some jackets with sour cream and smoked salmon, I prefer those jackets. Last time I tried to get a female plumber, called the female plumbing company but they had shut down but gave me another number but they sent a male plumber.

Gingerwarthog · 13/09/2021 22:13

I now really fancy a jacket potato with smoked salmon and sour cream....
Had rhubarb sponge this evening - with yoghurt. Nice.

LadyofMisrule · 13/09/2021 22:23

I have just bought myself some new slippers.

DoctorTwo · 13/09/2021 23:45

@LadyofMisrule

I have just bought myself some new slippers.
This is the news I've been needing all day.
Window1 · 14/09/2021 07:04

@LadyofMisrule You can now consider yourself an influencer as I think I'll now be buying a pair before the week is out!

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 14/09/2021 08:09

That reminds me - as my foot is now in good shape - I should buy some indoor footwear, too.

This I find quietly exciting: Supermarkets started to add the environmental impact of the food you buy in addition to the the health ladder - and give you stern reminders about using eyes, nose and brain instead of best before dates to avoid food waste.
Now Penny (Aldi type supermarket chain) have added food from the bug foundation to their range. Only a burger, but it is a start. I have eaten roasted larvae.

Silkiescatz · 14/09/2021 08:28

DD is unwell and off school today. I also feel rubbish with DH's lurgy though hoping it does not hit us so bad - I am now equipped with tissues, anti-histamines, cold and flu tablets, nose spray and drinking hot lemon. I can now breathe again. Hoping DS doesn't come down with it, he will never say he feels ill, he just gets very grumpy and insists he is going to school and this does not always ends well. DD did another lateral flow and negative.

I have a meeting with the Head of DS's school today. Am hoping it doesn't require me to talk much, its just an outcome meeting and from looking at DS's school webpage it looks like I have won.

I am watching Netflix, film about my age women (peri-menopause), and they seem to get hot easily and have very quick changes of mood, it did remind me of someone Blush

Just had a chocolate croissant. DS is refusing to eat breakfast and had left it so DH gave it to me. DS is also coat refusing and its raining. I told DH I had bought DS a coat which is downstairs from Vertbaudet and I pronounced it with a German accent and DH told me off and said it is a French company. Blush Just hope his lunchcard has arrived finally at school (he loses around one a week but won't take packed lunch). We will get the 3pm sausages ready.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 14/09/2021 08:40

silkie Vertbaudet - you can annoy him further because not only can you pronounce it German, you can also turn it into a phrase 'Wea baut det?!' (Berlin version of 'Who constructs this?!') - They do have some nice things, though.

LadyofMisrule · 14/09/2021 09:33

@Window1 I've gone for sheepskin Haflingers, with a cork and rubber sole. They are wonderful for cold mornings. I also have some of their felt ones.

And they are really supportive for anyone with plantar fasciitis.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 14/09/2021 12:52

Lady That is the type of slipper I am looking for!

My small bucket just split, luckily I always place it in the sink when I fill it, so no real damage apart from wasted hot water.

Silkiescatz · 14/09/2021 12:58

I will try that Prok if DH ever wakes up, it definitely looks like it should be German to me.

I contacted an electrician to come round as well and gave him my e-mail and DHs phone and he phoned DH and DH was very pleased he said I have booked the electrician in for exactly the same time as the plumber. Hmm Though on querying the wisdom of this as one is doing the boiler, one the electrics, one is upstairs, one downstairs he said they are an hour apart.
