Mine isn't turning out to be very 'free' - trying to work from home again in 30 degree heat with two self-isolating primary age children whose school term finishes next Friday 😩

OP posts:
AnneFuckingKirrin · 18/07/2021 17:10

I am self isolating. Will be trying not to snap at my beloved family who are now doing my fucking head in.

ChocOrange1 · 18/07/2021 17:11

We've been camping this weekend so tomorrow I'll be unpacking and washing all the stuff.

CrouchEndTiger12 · 18/07/2021 17:11

No different to normal.

I've been back at the office 3 days a week since April and I can't even bin the masks as they're needed on public transport Hmm

The same as other work days.

Tea in bed when husband returns from running the dog, work, cup of coffee together on the terrace, more work. Think if i need to get anything out of the freezer. Speak to daughter on her way home from work so she can decompress, pop to see elderly neighbour is OK. Take dog and husband for a swim in the evening hopefully.
Cook supper.

SpringRainbow · 18/07/2021 17:11

Nothing very different really.

Vodkabulary · 18/07/2021 17:13

SAHM so pretty much the same as always apart from DS1 will be home schooling after bubble burst last week so will need to balance that on top of the 2 toddlers.

CharlotteRose90 · 18/07/2021 17:13

Absolutely nothing I’ve be working away in a boiling hot airport sending hundreds of passengers away on a holiday oh and wearing a face mask 😂😂. Just another day for me

RightOnTheEdge · 18/07/2021 17:13

Stuck at home as ds' year group has been sent home to isolate so I'll be helping him with his home learning.

ImInACage · 18/07/2021 17:14

I have covid. Yay freedom day Sad

TheFluffiestCat · 18/07/2021 17:14

WFH with isolating child. No freedom here

FlatteredFool · 18/07/2021 17:16

The usual school run, tidy up, wash up, laundry, admin, school run, dinner, shower, bed. It's an exciting life I lead! Dds are off school now so we will have done paddling pool time too.

A world without masks is going to be a scary place for me. I'm CEV and my CEV double jabbed neighbour and his dad have just tested positive. Both vaccinated early in the programme.

I think someone's freedom will mostly result in someone's restrictions but there's nothing much we can do when the government don't give a shit. Life can't stop though I know that, it's just shit, and I don't have an answer either.

Invisablewoman · 18/07/2021 17:18

Having to take a day off work due to isolating child. So many teachers tested positive last week that the school haf to close early.

StrongLegs · 18/07/2021 17:19

Ds has covid symptoms and +ve lateral flo test result.

Waiting for PCR result.

DH is lamenting costs of flights and PCR tests that would have taken him home to visit family on Wednesday for the first time in 18 months.

Very very hot here.

I don't think freedom day is going to be very free in our house.

WeatherwaxOn · 18/07/2021 17:19

Same as usual. DH is isolating. Have to take DC to school, etc
Keeping the mask and distancing.

Malteser71 · 18/07/2021 17:20

Going into the co op without a mask, because I can.

trilbydoll · 18/07/2021 17:20

Going to work, and we're keeping masks, so no difference to last week. Hoping kids make it through the last few days of term so we can go camping next weekend.

Etinox · 18/07/2021 17:20

@AnneFuckingKirrin

I am self isolating. Will be trying not to snap at my beloved family who are now doing my fucking head in.
Flowers and for so many others on this thread. I’ve been working throughout. But tomorrow I have the car as DH is self isolating. 💃🏻Very happy to not be bussing it in this heat. Wouldn’t occur to me not to wear a mask.
RampantIvy · 18/07/2021 17:20

WFH. No change to my normal day.

Whenthedealgoesdown · 18/07/2021 17:21

I'm retired so no work but PAX wardrobes arrived today so will be helping DH with them, dentist appointment in the afternoon

missmeg3leg · 18/07/2021 17:21

normal work day...12 hr shift on covid ICU...full PPE....🥵🥵🥵🥵

Useruseruserusee · 18/07/2021 17:22

No different, I’ll be teaching as usual. My school aren’t making any changes before the end of term.

DH will be home with DS (Year 2), his bubble burst last week.

tiredanddangerous · 18/07/2021 17:23

I'll be going to work in a school. We have many staff and kids off isolating so it's quite stressful. I won't be binning my masks because I've had covid once and once was enough.

Babynames2 · 18/07/2021 17:24

Well DH just tested positive on a lateral flow and has gone for a PCR. So no freedom here yet.

Dementedswan · 18/07/2021 17:24

I've had a child isolating at home from 26th June, one got out of isolation on Friday, then had the dreaded email yesterday so the other child is back into isolation until 26th July Hmm I'm certainly not feeling free!

JohnnyLuLus · 18/07/2021 17:25

I'm double vaxxed and currently have Covid. I feel absolutely awful. So, my day is looking like being ill whilst dealing with pissed off, self isolating children.
