What size bed do your DCs have?

My DDs (9 and 11) could do with new beds. They really want doubles though one only has a narrow room so not sure it will fit.
Are double beds normal for kids? I didn’t get one till I moved out of home.

14yo DS has a small double. He sleeps even better with the extra space.
12yo DD has bunk beds. and sleeps in my king.

I have honestly never noticed changing sheets/duvet covers on any of the beds to be more difficult then on any others, but I am very tall so maybe that's why? Grin
Also I guess if you're on the tall side then you probably appreciate a bigger bed more than if you're smaller.

I think I'm 170cm tall so my arm span must be similar. That's wider than a single duvet (140cm wide) but shorter than the width of a double (200cm wide). You'd have to be pretty tall to be able to shake in a double duvet cover just by stretching your arms, I think?

I'm 178 cms and I have no trouble with duvets - there's a knack to it. Once you have the corners in place, it's easy to get a grip along the top and shake from there, then adjust bottom corners as needed before closing and tucking in. Practice makes perfect.

And I absolutely do sleep in the middle of my double, move around and spread out. On those rare occasions when I'm in a single, I don't sleep as well because of it.

Give me changing a double over changing bunk beds any day.

Mine have small doubles (4ft), they're 3 and 5. Won't need to buy new beds until they leave home! They've got decent sized rooms though so still enough floor space and also they play on their beds.

Oh and it's brilliant having young children in small doubles because if ever they're poorly, or have a nightmare etc I can just go and get in bed with them and actually have a half decent sleep. Doesn't happen often, but it's much better than trying to squash in a single or laying on the floor a la 'the cot days'!!
