Gingernaut I am a great fan of Dorothy Zbornak

I planted some new seeds, checked for aphids and watched the bees and wasps.

Silkiecats · 04/07/2021 12:53

DH went to the shop to get DD vegetarian chicken nuggets but has came back with free from chicken nuggets which are unfortunately not free from chicken. DD is Hmm Still DS will eat them.

Yesterday was spent buying lots of new things for DD. Today it was cleaning of chickens and rabbits areas and now its Sunday lunch time.

I just had a massage. My right shoulder in particular sounded like a bag of gravel so it’s probably going to take a few goes to sort out. Definitely feeling better for it though!

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 04/07/2021 13:38

sunbird Nothing beats a medicinal massage, I am looking for a new therapist. My old one is booked out for ages.

Sunbird24 · 04/07/2021 14:15

I’ve not had that much physical contact in about 3.5 years, think I need to make it a regular thing if I can. Hope you find a nice new therapist soon!

MissConductUS · 04/07/2021 14:19

@Gingernaut, those signs are delightful.

@Popcornbetty, it was a lovely trip. She may or may not be home briefly at the end of August.

I went to the supermarket and picked up lobsters for dinner. They're on sale for the holiday. I'm off to church, DH and DS have gone blueberry picking at our favorite farm.

Happy Independence Day! Grin

That sounds weirdly satisfying.
ZZTopGuitarSolo · 04/07/2021 14:32

Happy Independence Day from me - it's pouring with rain here, so I'm actually at my desk getting a load of work out of the way. The joys of self-employment!

I'm trying not to complain about the rain as we've been in drought recently, but I would have really liked a day at a state park with the ocean crashing, BBQ, nice walk etc. Ah well.

HildaTablet · 04/07/2021 14:35

It's been raining torrentially in between spells of bright and very warm sunshine.

We're trying to buy a new mattress and finding that this opens up a whole new level of frustration. There are millions to choose from but as soon as I give the fairly modest requirements (not memory foam, pocket-sprung, must be able to turn it over, need to try it out first) we get mournful headshakes.

I'm afraid we're not able to pay over £1,000 (and upwards) either. And do people really hand over many hundreds of pounds for a new mattress that they haven't even had a lie down on in the showroom first?

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 04/07/2021 15:37

Mine is a 7 zone matress for my weight and size and I had a lie down in the shop - cost me 129 € - but then the beds in the English speaking world are different (I went into a" history of bedsteads" rabbit hole a couple of years ago - fascinating!).

HildaTablet · 04/07/2021 17:48

Gosh, Prok, the bed place we went into today tried to flog us a mattress for £1500 (about 1700€ at the moment I think). That's after we'd said our absolute top price was half that at the most! The one I liked the look of on their website wasn't available to try in the shop, of course.

We made our excuses and left, as they say.

IWanderedLonely · 04/07/2021 18:05

Gosh what a lot to catch up on! We've been away in our camper van for 9 days. Been home for 2 hours and already dreading work tomorrow.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 04/07/2021 19:05

Iwandered I hope you had a lot of fun and feel properly relaxed!

Frownette · 04/07/2021 19:09

Prok I was looking at spätzle today. Does it taste like pasta?

Few hours ago I went to the shop for a sorbet stick and was going to sit outside and eat it but as I walked out a torrential downpour of freezing cold rain started.

@IWanderedLonely can't say I blame you.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 04/07/2021 19:47

@Frownette No, if pasta means Italian style noodles, softer because of the eggs and the qualitiy depends on the housewifely skills involved.
You need a special flour (80 normal wheat flour : 20 Dunst) and a 'Brett' because 'Späzle g'höre g'schaapt' : 1:55 min
DH - from Späzle country - loves 'Kässpatzn', I love them with Kraut.

Squirrel26 · 04/07/2021 20:53

My mum just 'reminded' me that in 9 years I'll need to buy an electric car. Right then. I'll get right on that... Hmm

First I might have some chocolate though.

Sunbird24 · 04/07/2021 21:07

I’m pretty sure we don’t all have to buy electric cars in 2030 @Squirrel26 Grin

Sunbird, the last time I had a massage I fell fast asleep and woke myself snoring with my head down in the gap in the massage table. It was a Swedish massage and I felt as if I had been hit by a train the next morning.

We are buying burgers from a nice burger place for our Fourth of July celebration (or 'Fork of July' as we call it in my family) as I can't be bothered cleaning off the grill to make my own. It's very hot here today.

Frownette · 04/07/2021 22:15

@mathanxiety I was craving a burger earlier (after watching supersizeme, strangely Grin) but it's too late now.

Enjoy your celebration

Silkiecats · 04/07/2021 22:21

In wabbit news I bought a pouffe for DS and wabbit is now hopping on it then hopping off it and its becoming wabbit hurdles.

Hope everyone celebrating has a nice 4th July celebrations.

Squirrel26 · 04/07/2021 22:22

There’s no arguing with my mum, @Sunbird24. She’s adamant that my dad can’t book a slot for swimming because of ‘people dialing in all the time on their smartphones.’ Hmm

Champagneforeveryone · 04/07/2021 23:28
Flowers
Sunbird24 · 04/07/2021 23:37

Thanks Champers!
Just realised I completely disregarded the rather, erm, intimate physical contact that naturally goes along with the IVF process! But I guess that’s medical and not the same at all

Silkiecats · 05/07/2021 10:12

Silkiecat has seen there is a bit of sun and is sunbathing a foot into the garden, so brave today.

Dds first day at new school.
