I prefer camera off, I disabled my camera before Grin

Sunbird24 · 13/07/2021 23:47

We’ll all be on our work laptops so it will look s bit bad if they manage it and I can’t 🤭

Silkiecats · 13/07/2021 23:56

You need a cat then you can have camera on but not be seen. Only issue is when cat decides everyone should admire its bottom Blush

Champagneforeveryone · 14/07/2021 00:07

Our most recent training day (which recently has been Death By PowerPoint) was done at home via Zoom with no requirement for cameras to be on.
After several thrilling inputs, the trainer took to randomly asking us to raise our hands at odd intervals. I believe words were had with some colleagues when we returned to work Grin

Someone’s house alarm is going off. It is very early and has been going for a good five minutes. It’s so piercing that it’s very difficult to pin point the direction it is coming from.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 14/07/2021 07:41

Do these alarms connect to security or police or so? Or do they just make scary noises?

We had a massive thunderstorm last night - the air is paper-welling humid and everything feels sticky. But you can almost watch my plants grow.

sueelleker · 14/07/2021 09:30

@Silkiecats

Wabbit's baby gate has fallen down twice today. DH only just noticed the second time. Wabbit could have had lots of fun with jumping on cat and bouncing around the house but no DH is putting it back up.
Do you think it had Wabbit's help to fall down?
Silkiecats · 14/07/2021 09:35

Possibly Sue Though wabbit isn't known for being quiet and DS was with him. I think it maybe more DHs fine DIY skills. But wabbit does have designs on Silkiecat and is convinced Silkiecat loves him really when she gives him the evil glare.

Squirrel26 · 14/07/2021 11:02

My new hoover bags are coming today. So that’s exciting. I’ve also run out of shampoo, so I will have to buy some this evening. #shopaholic

Champagneforeveryone · 14/07/2021 12:54

Steady on squirrel Grin

Sunbird24 · 14/07/2021 13:40

My course book has arrived for Monday, my grass is being cut, and I’m procrastinating instead of sorting out my spare room!

Helocariad · 14/07/2021 13:43

I just had a post-lunch coffee and a good read in the garden. Cheered me right up. I needed it as I have an afternoon of boring admin ahead of me....

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 14/07/2021 14:06

Back from getting my second vacc and from the hairdresser.

sunbird I used to love new course books, full of exciting things to learn. I hope your book is sth you enjoy.

Morose pidgeon is nibbling my nasturtiums - again.

Sunbird24 · 14/07/2021 14:20

Information Security Management… Hmm

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 14/07/2021 14:22

sunbird Hmm indeed...

Squirrel26 · 14/07/2021 14:41

Ooh, the big tub of horse treats I ordered has also been dispatched. This is indeed an exciting day.

Champagneforeveryone · 14/07/2021 15:37

It would have been so much better to ration the excitement and stagger the deliveries squirrel.

Alas, we are a bagless Hoover house so I do not have that thrill to look forward to. I should be about due to order new water filters though

Squirrel26 · 14/07/2021 16:21

I know, @Champagneforeveryone. I was just in a really dull meeting and craving some low-level stimulation and I went nuts.

A true Warning For Our Times.

Champagneforeveryone · 14/07/2021 16:34

Indeed squirrel

As it happens, today I have ordered two new mugs, 3 months of contact lenses and dog food. We are also waiting for DS's baking subscription and DH's FatFace order to arrive. Since I'm isolating I shall have to do a supermarket order too - think how many times I'll get to go to the door over the next few days Grin

Helocariad · 14/07/2021 17:08
@Helocariad, your handle sounds familiar. If you are new to the thread, thanks for sharing that interesting high vis wildlife news.

The fourth season of Unforgotten became available today on Amazon Prime/PBS. Nicola Walker is fab and a nice break from Bosch.

DS got a letter from his uni informing him that he made the Dean's list this spring.
Hi, I've written one post before I think- am more a lurker than a contributor.

A very soothing thread!

I can relate to the excitement of deliveries Grin

DisgraceToTheYChromosome · 14/07/2021 17:59

MissConductUS: Saturday morning. The surgeon did 4 of us in just over 5 hours, and the first one in was off home by tea time. I stayed in overnight, then it was just waiting for a mobility assessment. Flight of stairs, on and off chair, toilet and bed, then a bagful of drugs. Surprised they trusted me with oramorph though.

DoctorTwo · 14/07/2021 18:40

This t-shirt arrived today. Looking forward to wearing it around Tesco. Then I'll find out if anyone knows who Magdalen was.

ZZTopGuitarSolo · 14/07/2021 18:44

I've ordered a Pantone colour book and some yoga headbands.

mathanxiety · 14/07/2021 19:20

Workmen have been repairing the roof of my building for the last two days, and not a shred of hi vis between them. They took my parking spot today while I was out at work so I had to park on the street.

MissConductUS · 14/07/2021 19:58

Sorry I've been MIA today. Am in the waiting room for my intake exam with the new GP.
