Glad it went well MissConduct

HildaTablet · 08/07/2021 20:52

Good to hear you're back and OK, MissC. Hope you do full justice to the tex/mex.

Silkiecats · 08/07/2021 21:22

I just had Chinese, duck with pancakes and spring onions and hoisin sauce. 😻

Frownette · 08/07/2021 21:28

Did the cat get her share?

Good woman MissC, recovery should go quickly.

We ended up using up leftover puy lentil and vegetable casserole in the end with buttered rolls. Seemed silly to waste it.

I'm off to watch Bridesmaids now.

Silkiecats · 08/07/2021 22:01

No she was too busy cuddling DH on the bed.

Frownette · 08/07/2021 22:22

I forgot to ask earlier, what did DH think he was doing in Chinatown if he forgot the chinese first time??

MissConductUS · 08/07/2021 22:38

DH and DS have gone to pick up the takeaway. We decided to get it from a nice restaurant, so I'm having chicken piccata on angel hair pasta and we're sharing an order of crispy fried chicken strips with a honey mustard dipping sauce.

I split one of the pain pills in half and have taken it. It was getting pretty uncomfortable. They must have given me a liter of IV fluids while I was under because I've been to the loo every 30 minutes since I got home.

The cats are ignoring me.

Thank you all for your good wishes and support, it truly means a lot to me. Smile

He remembered to order the takeaway but forgot to take it. Grin He left to go and get coke from the other shop and forgot to go back and didn't realise until I said were is the Chinese then? Blush

He's just told me he can't fit a bed from IKEA in his car. I explained they come in bits. This seems to be a revelation to him and now he's like Shock I can get one in the car.

Frownette · 09/07/2021 01:30

MissConductUS food sounds nice, haven't had angel hair pasta in ages. I was trying to decide what to cook on Sunday for Euro final so you inspired me to think about a shrimp piccata with pasta. I am sure you'll be well taken care of until you've recuperated :)

Bridesmaids was surprisingly good, I found the airplane bit funny. It wasn't too schmaltzy.

Honestly Silkiecats what is DH like!!

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 09/07/2021 07:30

Guess what - my day off and it is raining like anything (or nothing?) and I've got a migraine - a mild one, that I could walk off, but it is raining .....

HildaTablet · 09/07/2021 10:19

The cats can probably smell hospitals on you, MissC.

Sympathies re the migraine, Prok. Do you take anything for them? I'm on a daily medication which (mostly) keeps them at bay. Lifelong sufferer here Sad

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 09/07/2021 10:54

Hilda I am lucky! I can usually manage with a dark and cool room, OCT medication and walks, as the hormonal triggers are gone and I've largely adjusted my life style. It is good that I do not live near the Alps, though.

MissConductUS · 09/07/2021 13:14

Hilda, I think you're right about the cats. When one returns from the vet they are shunned by the other one. They seemed fine with me this morning, particularly since I was feeding them. Smile

I had a lot of trouble getting to sleep last night, so I expect I'll be a bit tired later. The hip is sore, but no more than I expected.

It's raining, but I might run out to do a quick shop at the warehouse club while it's early. It'll save me from having to do it later.

The doctor said he wanted me to stay active, so I rode the stationary bike this morning. It's raining.

They repaved half of our street last night. It looks great, and there's now less of a bump when you turn into our driveway.

I had boiled eggs and dunkers and have a new chicken egg cup.

Hope your migraine is better now Prok, my DD gets those. Glad recovery is going well MissC.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 09/07/2021 13:46

Silkie Thanks - it is manageable. I rescheduled my visit to the museum for next Friday and took myself to bed.

I will have to go out to get bread, though.

HildaTablet · 09/07/2021 14:21

I just looked up migraines and the Alps and there was a reference to a wind there called the Foehn which apparently causes headaches. Or is it more of a high altitude thing, Prok?

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 09/07/2021 14:32

hilde The Föhn it is, they even have different varieties. I have work mates in Munich, who need to go on sick leave then.

I am feeling slightly better (3 days is usually my lot) but it is mild compared with what other people have to put up with. And DH will go and get the bread.

Sunbird24 · 09/07/2021 14:52

My noisy neighbours now have a bouncy castle in their garden. I’m going to have to go out…

mathanxiety · 09/07/2021 16:47

Hope your recovery goes smoothly, MissConduct. Don't overdo the getting out and about.

The lovely weather continues.

My local Aldi was advertising an Ikea style hanging zippered wardrobe in the circular for this week but when I went on Wednesday it looked as if they didn't get any in their shipment. This happens sometimes. I'm going to look again today.

Frownette · 09/07/2021 16:48

@Sunbird24 is this at work? I remember you saying you have an HMO and work accommodation but don't know if you have somewhere else.

Not much going on here, I bought some prawns for prawn, pea and pesto pasta tonight. The pesto is vegan so I'm slightly dubious about what it will taste like. I've been offered some plants but am a little worried as I'm not green fingered. Crocosmia? I'm sure I've spelt that incorrectly

sueelleker · 09/07/2021 17:13

No, crocosmia is right. They're very pretty; sort of like a tiny lily shaped flower, in shades of red, orange or yellow depending on the variety.www.bing.com/shop?q=crocosmia&FORM=SHOPPA&originIGUID=1EBDB0700C3849CC82319D899BFA98C1

Silkiecats · 09/07/2021 18:10

DS just came to see me and said where is meow? I thought yes it is unusually quiet atm esp as DH is out getting McDonalds. Then I remembered DH let her outside then shut the door. DS opened the door and now we have meow back in full voice, just as well as torrential rain has just started.

Sunbird24 · 09/07/2021 18:12

@Frownette this is at my house, location number 3! While I’ve been out the kids have managed to throw a spacehopper over the 6ft fence into my garden

Frownette · 09/07/2021 18:41

@Sunbird24 ahhh I did wonder! I'm a little the same at present, split my time between home, relative's and friend's.

I'm getting too much harassment at home so went away for a few days. All the neighbours are male and think it's fine to grab me or disturb me, I was really upset on Tuesday as I has my bottom groped then I was trying to go to the shop and got stopped and had to push past. I was really angry but also nearly in tears. So don't want to be around any men at present apart from my male friends.

@sueelleker yes that's the one thanks, it looks really pretty. I'd need to look into soil etc before I pick it up.

Sunbird24 · 09/07/2021 18:47

Ugh, anyone trying that would get the look. I inherited/learnt it from my mum, very effective on either a class of 30 10-11 year olds or one man with the same maturity level. Can totally understand it being just one too many things when you’re feeling a bit emotionally delicate though
