Welcome, @languagelover96, and thanks for sharing your kitchen illumination news.

What rekindled your love of life?

I have never tried triffle.

Sunbird24 · 07/07/2021 22:48

I would like trifle if it didn’t have custard in

Frownette · 08/07/2021 00:01

@languagelover96 has it gone a bit disco light?

I'm trying to wind down after the exciting footie. Might get some watered down pineapple juice because I'm fed up of tea.

ZZTopGuitarSolo · 08/07/2021 03:29

I hope all goes well tomorrow MissC. Keep us posted.

HelenaJustina · 08/07/2021 06:28

Hope all goes well today @MissConductUS am sure it will.

I did not watch the football last night, just watched a 4 minute highlight reel on the BBC app, that was plenty! Instead I made a bolognese which has to simmer for over an hour. Which means DC dinner is already done for tonight, so smug.

mathanxiety · 08/07/2021 06:51

Wishing you a successful operation, MissConduct. Hope you're getting some rest.

I have to think of something to do with a nice smoked mackerel which I bought in a moment of madness a few days ago.

Make some pate? Here's a recipe.www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/smoked_mackerel_pt_with_36210 @IWanderedLonely My sister and I used to fight over the grape and cherry.
Sunbird24 · 08/07/2021 09:06

Good luck today Miss!

@mathanxiety I like mackerel pate too. The Gousto recipe I did on Tuesday was quite nice, it had smoked basa but I guess you could substitute mackerel?
Cook the fish in a big frying pan with roasted garlic (finely chopped fresh probably works too) and peas, break it up with your spatula, add lemon juice and cream cheese, Chuck in cooked spaghetti or other pasta, mix it all together and serve!

Nydj · 08/07/2021 09:12

Hope all goes well for you today @MissConductUS and you have a very speedy recovery!

languagelover96 · 08/07/2021 10:56

lots of things.

MissConductUS · 08/07/2021 12:56

Good day my lovelies. Smile

I slept very well. I am not supposed to eat or drink today. I cheated and had about 3 ounces of strong coffee very early this morning. I also worked out, so am not a bit dehydrated and hungry.

I happened to log into the website for my mail order pharmacy to check on a prescription and saw that the surgeon prescribed a few low dose pain medication tablets for me, but he or his nurse sent it to the mail order pharmacy, which means I won't get them until sometime next week. I'll have a word with the nurse when I get to the surgical center and have the rx sent to my local pharmacy.

Other than that, I'm just knocking about until DS drives me to the surgical center later. It's only 15-20 minutes today. It's going to rain most the day today so I'll bring a small folding umbrella.

The town I live in is repaving the street we live on. They've been working north of us, moving in our direction. There is now an orange traffic cone on the road in front of us, so they are getting closer. I hope this isn't going to be a problem getting back in the driveway later.

languagelover, that is very good news.

Hope all goes well for you MissC

I just had mussels for lunch in white wine sauce and will now have some cheese and crackers.

Planning on getting carpet cleaner set up.

Sunbird24 · 08/07/2021 14:02

I’ve put my ear defenders on as neighbours are watching Spongebob Squarepants on their garden tv. I can still hear the high pitched squeals but everything else is blocked out.

ZZTopGuitarSolo · 08/07/2021 17:47

Afternoon all - pouring here. We have a flash flood warning from Tropical Storm Elsa. I'm going to make sure the sump pump is working then hide indoors for the foreseeable future.

Hoping you're pain-free MissC.

Silkiecats · 08/07/2021 17:58

I cleaned two bedrooms and the bathroom and carpet cleaned a room, its very heavy. I have had a bath.

Frownette · 08/07/2021 18:32

How did it go MissC?

I was invited to watch an artist paint on walls a few months ago (Council approved, not like Banksy!) but didn't get around to it, I recognised some of his work en route to the supermarket earlier. Luckily I forgot mushrooms so will go back and take my phone with me so I can take some snaps.

Mushrooms are quite important as we're having a simple supper of curried mushroom omelette rolls and salad tonight!

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 08/07/2021 18:42

Miss Me too, wanting to be sure you are ok?

On my day off work tomorrow i will really be off work - so what should I do after my physio appointment?
There is this exhibition, the botanical gardens, and the zoo - no, I won't do chores.

sproutsandparsnips · 08/07/2021 19:11

A garden Tv Sunbird? Good grief!

mathanxiety · 08/07/2021 19:22

Flowers to MissConduct Hope you're ok.

We have nice cool weather today, finally, after blistering heat for the past week. My deck plants have perked up. They were looking very sorry for themselves. I made lasagna last night when the kitchen became usable again.

Silkiecats · 08/07/2021 20:02

Dh just came back from the Chinese in the village and said he was back. I said you have the Chinese and he said I forgot it. Confused

MissConductUS · 08/07/2021 20:09

I have survived. Grin

I have a huge bandage on my hip and will be in a bit of pain for a while, but the surgeon did not have to do the ligament repair, which would have had me on crutches for weeks. He just removed the bursa, sectioned the Iliotibial band, and removed some calcification around the ligament. No showering for 48 hours as it will ruin the bandage. I can start driving on Saturday and will probably be back at work on Monday.

I haven't had breakfast or lunch but am still a bit groggy from the anesthesia, so am going to make do with a slice of blueberry bread until dinner, which will be tex/mex takeaway.

Now I'm going to lie down and watch Bosch on Amazon Prime.

He gave me some narcotic pain relief but I will try to make do without it,

Miss Great news!
I always feel hungry when I wake up from GA and noone ever has food for me.

ZZTopGuitarSolo · 08/07/2021 20:22

Glad you're well MissC. That all sounds like good news.

DoctorTwo · 08/07/2021 20:23

Hope the op went well MissC and that your rehabilitation goes smoothly.
