Friend claiming she got pregnant like this?

Friend claiming she is pregnant after her partner went half way inside her for 4 seconds and didn’t ejaculate Confused

Is this actually possible?! This is a close friend and in a weird way it’s made me feel distant from her as it clearly seems to be a lie?! Not she’s why it’s bothered me, maybe because I feel like she’s lying and we are very close.

OP posts:
MrsR87 · 11/06/2021 09:16

Whether or not you believe her is your business but it troubles me that you don’t think this is possible! Of course it it! Sure, less likely than full intercourse but still possible nonetheless.

Ivalueloyaltyaboveallelse · 11/06/2021 09:18

OP are you involved with the friend’s husband? sounds more like a story a cheating guy would tell to his mistress. ‘I wasn’t fully in and it was only in for like 4 seconds’. Whatever the case It is possible OP.

Beautiful3 · 11/06/2021 09:19

Yes its possible, its pre ejaculation. That's why I'd never use the withdrawal method.

I have also had friends who have kept saying something that I know to be a lie but they have said it so often and to so many people in the group particularly the ‘close’ friends that it becomes friendship folklore and in the end nobody remembers what actually happened.
It is normally bad behaviour that would affect a romantic or important close relationship.

CovidVaccinatorintheMaking · 11/06/2021 09:20

I guess it depends on the friendship. I’d definitely tell my close friends this detail. I’d just hope my close friends wouldn’t bitch about me on mumsnet

BlueLobelia · 11/06/2021 09:21

I just want to know if she was counting 'One Missisipee; Two Missisipee' so she knows for sure it was 4 seconds.

Pinkblueberry · 11/06/2021 09:25

I think it’s very sweet how many people think a person is more likely to get pregnant using the pull out method than they are likely to lie... and how they still hark back to their sex Ed experience at school.
Yes we were all taught that the pull out method isn’t reliable. Of course you don’t teach teens to use the pull out method - they should be protecting themselves from STDs with a condom and teenage boys who have been drinking in the park obviously aren’t going to be great at remembering to pull out at the right moment. Teens are also a lot more fertile - we teach them that they can get pregnant at the drop of a hat and by the time they hit they’re late twenties and thirties that’s often the case anymore, as many people struggling to conceive as quickly as they wanted to unfortunately find out.
Two responsible adults using the pull out method correctly really are not likely to make a baby. I don’t mean a little bit not likely, I mean a huge amount not likely.

IGotFat · 11/06/2021 09:26

Yes a friend of mine said this was how she got pregnant. Grin

Sparklingbrook · 11/06/2021 09:26

I think not only a stopwatch but also a tape measure were required. But sadly no condoms. Hmm

SarahSteedman82 · 11/06/2021 09:27

You sound very childish. Of course it's possible.

Hallyup6 · 11/06/2021 09:28

Either that happened and it's someone else's baby, or it didn't happen like that. The chances of getting pregnant like that are incredibly close to zero.

I'd wager it's the first one and she's trying to convince everyone that it's her partner's. Why tell other people otherwise?

BlueLobelia · 11/06/2021 09:28

@Sparklingbrook

I have spent an unreasonable amount of time trying to work out visually how she could use a tape measurer at the same time. Grin
HoikingUpMyBigGirlPantss · 11/06/2021 09:29

Anyone else get the rather apt M&S pork sausages advert when scrolling this post? Grin

TableFlowerss · 11/06/2021 09:30

It’s because she wants you to know that she’s not just fertility, but she’s super super super fertile!

People are competitive in every other way so makes sense that’s this is a thing too!

It’s probably unlikely to be fair, given the detail you gave and it’s not the same as having sex for a couple of minutes then the guy pulling out before he ‘cums’. Not even properly in and for 4 seconds…. Unlikely!

CaraherEIL · 11/06/2021 09:31

OP, I think you feel weird and vibey about it because you can sense a close friend is lying and not telling you why she is lying which I think as Hallyup6 says is likely to be a much more interesting story.

Summerfun54321 · 11/06/2021 09:33

I remember learning this is possible from sex education. Why would she even share that level of detail if she wasn’t confused and surprised like you are. I don’t understand the harm for you in just believing her and supporting her.

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 11/06/2021 09:34

Yes it's possible. What I find surprising is, what I'm assuming is a grown woman doesn't know that it's possible and is determined it's a lie!

denverRegina · 11/06/2021 09:35

Yeah it's possible.

However, it's more likely that you're having an affair with her husband and he's feeding you a load of shite.

Summerfun54321 · 11/06/2021 09:35

You’re never going to know the truth on this one. It’s a strange thing to loose a friendship over.

moofolk · 11/06/2021 09:39

I don't know or particularly care if this is true or not.

A couple of things come to mind though. One is that there can be a lot of difficult feelings related to fertility. I'm obscenely fertile and could get pregnant by my XDP just looking at me funny, and my sister struggled for years and eventually adopted but it put a wedge between us. We're ok now but it was hard and people don't like admitting that that's a problem.

The other thing is that yes, as a few others, I am absolutely gobsmacked that people don't talk about sex with their friends! Why not? Isn't this the kind of honest sharing that makes friendships?!

CovidVaccinatorintheMaking · 11/06/2021 09:40

I think this is a reverse. OP is pregnant by another man and the last sex with her partner was the 4 seconds. She’s gauging how likely it is her partner will believe her

MikeWozniaksGloriousTache · 11/06/2021 09:42

Well this morning I learned I couldn’t possibly be pregnant without my partner ejaculating inside me, I just have sabotaged birth control or harvested it 🤮 Grin .. must have done that in my sleep. Or I’m one of the astronomically small percentage of women that doesn’t lie about it so bow down and witness my rarity!

Meanwhile, OP won’t be coming back because this is a really weird thread.

Maggiesfarm · 11/06/2021 09:45

@lovelybitofsquirrell

Yea it's possible. Why are you so concerned?
Yes, it happens.
NoProblem123 · 11/06/2021 09:45

How can he be half way in ?

He’s either in or he isn’t.

Jux · 11/06/2021 09:46

Gosh, it is really really worrying to have even one person on this thread saying it's impossible. It's possible, of course it is.
