Friend claiming she got pregnant like this?

Friend claiming she is pregnant after her partner went half way inside her for 4 seconds and didn’t ejaculate Confused

Is this actually possible?! This is a close friend and in a weird way it’s made me feel distant from her as it clearly seems to be a lie?! Not she’s why it’s bothered me, maybe because I feel like she’s lying and we are very close.

OP posts:

Of course it could happen, unlikely but definitely possible. Sounds like your friend didn't expect to be pregnant must be a lot for her to get her head round.

Bagelsandbrie · 11/06/2021 07:34

Why would you assume she’s lying…? What do you think has happened if she’s lying? An affair? Immaculate conception? I can’t see why she would lie - it would be easier just to say nothing and have everyone assume she just had “regular” sex with her dh. Grin

Moonshine11 · 11/06/2021 07:36

Just to add, I did have a friend who lied about being pregnant. It was ridiculous what ended up happening.
It is possible op but I can understand how you think this has happened.

Physically it’s possible, but unlikely. But then even highly unlikely things happen to someone, so that someone could be her!

There are a few other possibilities, some more pleasant than others, some really horrible to consider.

Is there any reason she’d be embarrassed to be pregnant (e.g. she has a very young baby, she has circumstances that aren’t ideal, she was planning to leave him and you knew it etc) and she doesn’t want you to think she’s stupid so she’s making out it was very unlikely to have happened?

myfuckingfreezer · 11/06/2021 07:40
@RodiganReed not sure just seems impossible surely! Don’t think her partner wanted another hence why they stopped apparently
Op do you know how babies are made?!

3peassuit · 11/06/2021 07:41

Quite possible. Your friend over shared the details.

So how do you think she got pg then?

enjoyingscience · 11/06/2021 07:46

It’s completely possible. The only reason to feel distant from your friend over this is if she announced this little nugget over Facebook and you don’t want to be publicly associated with her any more.

AllTheUsernamesAreAlreadyTaken · 11/06/2021 07:46

People are so odd with asking/ over sharing conception details.
My MIL asked me where my daughter was conceived. Even more awkwardly was the fact she was conceived on the exact spot of the sofa MIL was sitting on.

lorca · 11/06/2021 07:47

Odd that you care OP.

Maybe HE was the one who said how it happened, and you want to believe him - for your own purposes? That's what I would guess - you are having an affair and don't want to believe that they are sleeping together?

AgathaAllAlong · 11/06/2021 07:48

To add to what everyone has said, yes, entirely possible and this is why the pull out method doesn't work. Pre cum has sperm in it, and also if they'd already had sex then his penis would have sperm still on it. The length of time doesn't make any difference, thrust away for hours all you like, what matters is how much sperm goes in.

It is unlikely, but also, if she was at peak fertility time of the month becomes less unlikely.

Pinchoftums · 11/06/2021 07:49

@AllTheUsernamesAreAlreadyTaken 😂

eurochick · 11/06/2021 07:49

A friend of mine had an unwanted third pregnancy. I had to ask how she'd managed an unwanted pregnancy - surely they had figured out how it works by now. She said they hadn't even had full sex - just fingers. But there must have been cum on them.

She's always been very fertile - pregnant first cycle off pill both times.

I bet that was an awkward conversation Grin
OneMamaAndHerGirl · 11/06/2021 07:51

What are you trying to say?

Such detail. I would be Hmm and Confused probably not be able to look them in the eye ever again, and go NC.
LunaTheCat · 11/06/2021 07:54

Yep - plenty people get pregnant that way.

Classicbrunette · 11/06/2021 07:54

Omg why are you so concerned ? It’s none of your business. Jesus I wouldn’t even tell my best friend I was pregnant let alone how it was done ! In fact my best friend broke up with me for not divulging all my personal details. It beggars belief !!! Why is it any of your business ??
And to put it on a public forum is even stranger to me !

IMNOTSHOUTING · 11/06/2021 08:01

@HelloDulling

Possible. Hugely unlikely. Weird thing for her to tell you.
Pretty much this. Precum doesn't contain sperm but a small amount can leak in. It's very very unlikely to get you pregnant but not impossible. NO idea why you'd tell anyone though.
ineedtostop · 11/06/2021 08:02

It absolutely is possible. I got pregnant just with, shall we say, "proximity". Pre-ejaculate contains sperm (I had a termination because it definitely wasn't the plan).

Chloemol · 11/06/2021 08:02

Of course it’s possible, why do you care though?

FuckyouCovid21 · 11/06/2021 08:04

Fuck's sake, why do you even care?!

JackieWeaversAuthorityHere · 11/06/2021 08:06

You’re all such prudes. I have conversations like this with close friends all the time. You lot never talk about sex? Why? I’m not saying it’s the only thing to talk about or even that we discuss it all that often, but it comes up in conversation now and again and I can fully imagine the subject of conception coming up and her blurting out exactly how it happened. It sounds like a perfectly normal conversation between close friends and OP is just asking if she could be telling the truth because it seems outlandish.

OP, personally I agree with you and it sounds like a crock. If it was a conversation about the conception she probably just wanted a good story as to how it happened when her DH doesn’t want more kids. Better to blame it on that one time they didn’t have a condom but didn’t actually do much than admit she’s been at the condom stash with a pin!

ConstanceMarkievicz · 11/06/2021 08:07

It's such a personal detail, she told you this, and you put it on mumsnet and disbelieved her! 😑
