Someone threw a milkshake at me and oinked.

I was out for a walk tonight and I decided to try a little jog to see how it felt as I want to try c25k but I'm worried I'm a bit too fat still.

Anyway, I was just jogging along when I saw a car slow down out of the corner of my eye and then a milkshake smacked me in the head. Bloody hurt so I stopped and took out my ear buds and this guy is hanging out of the car window oinking at me.

I was too shocked to say anything to him so I just dipped in to the nearest garden, as if it was my house and I was going home, and the car drove off with the bloke yelling "fat cunt".

It's shook me up a bit, tbh. It was a couple of hours ago and I'm posting it here because I just need to get it off my chest. I keep going from upset to angry but also laughing because who actually does that to someone?! It was absurd.

What an absolute fucking cunt. In fact, both incidents you relayed were disgusting. Why do men think they can treat us like it? I’m fuming on your behalf. He clearly has many issues, don’t let it put you off. Absolute tosser.

A group of lads walked past me. One shouted out, big mama to me. I didnt say anything as I was like, what and why?! Wish now I'd shouted back, fuck off! I'm prepared for next time though!

Btw a possible reply to the verbal abuse is ' I'll be thinner soon but you will still be a piece of shit'. And you can feel vaguely sorry for the woman with such a man who clearly has very low standards.

I’m a fiery git it situations like this. Someone once told me to lay of the chips so I threw them at his car. The satisfaction as the Mayo slid down the window was something else and his face was a picture.

Fat/overweight women can't win. We don't exercise, people have a go at us. We do exercise, people have a go at us. This kind of thing is why I stick to gyms. I don't get the logic of attacking fat people for exercising. I'm just glad it wasn't anything worse, a milkshake is bad enough. I'm sorry that happened to you, OP.

Please don't think it means you are actually fat. I was very slim and I was sitting on a bench and a group of young men came up behind me and smacked the back of my head really hard so I choked on my sandwich. They then ran off, yelling 'skinny slag'. It means nothing about you, they will assault any lone female. I walk a lot and quite often get sad men throwing stuff or insults out of cars then zooming off, it's so pathetic of them. One time the car stalled and they looked very panicked as I had to squeeze past them, ( don't know why lol) they are cowards really and I'm not letting them stop me from walking. So sorry you were assaulted.
It's interesting to read stuff like this (not in a morbid kind of way!) that the common theme appears to be women rather than being overweight.

I have just assumed that it's a hatred of fat people that has caused the situations I've been in, but of course, it's misogyny at the root of it.

That's no better of course but knowing the root cause can help it be tackled. Not that I'm holding my breath!

A guy once through an egg at me from a car. Also, recently a homeless man starting yelling me to shut up and called me “big face”. While I am certainly not thin, I don’t think my face is unusually large (maybe it is though!).

I suppose my point is that these people are clearly very troubled and we shouldn’t let them bother us. Though I must admit I am not concerned about my huge face 🤔

I literally feel pride for anyone out jogging because you're doing some thing for yourself, I was once the 'overweight girl' out jogging ( miss it so much but developed shin splints! ) so you get back out there ASAP!
I doubt this will ever happen again but just remember- you can lose weight- this person will always be a grade a C*nt.

It’s pathetic. I have been running 7 years. Had a plastic bottle thrown at me, numerous men shouting stuff at me. Weirdly it happened today. Then I started blaming myself for wearing shorts , thinking I looked bad in them etc. It’s not relevant but I am a size 10. So it happens to all of us at all shapes and sizes sadly. Well done for your run.. Don’t let it put you off.

Not nearly as bad as what happened to you but when I was doing my driving test someone stopped beside me at the lights, opened the window and shouted 'learn to drive' while the rest of the passengers fell about laughing. Some people are really stupid 🤣 I passed so .ha to that!

OP I had something similar except I was stood outside Matalan waiting for them to bring a click and collect order to the door and a man walked past me and he was inline with me he said ‘you’re a fat bitch’ and just carried on walking 😳. I admit I just burst out laughing because it was so random.

What a cowardly thing to do. Unfortunately, I think women being harassed when they are exercising is really common.

I had a group of boys (around 13) make sexual remarks to me when I was jogging a few years ago. I'm a secondary teacher and walked right over to them and gave them the biggest schooling of their lives.

Another time, I kid you not, a man I used to pass on my run very regularly stopped me on one occasion to say he admired that I kept myself in shape, but did I cook? He said it was important because he couldn't cook and it was a quality he needed in a wife. Amazing!
