Someone threw a milkshake at me and oinked.

I was out for a walk tonight and I decided to try a little jog to see how it felt as I want to try c25k but I'm worried I'm a bit too fat still.

Anyway, I was just jogging along when I saw a car slow down out of the corner of my eye and then a milkshake smacked me in the head. Bloody hurt so I stopped and took out my ear buds and this guy is hanging out of the car window oinking at me.

I was too shocked to say anything to him so I just dipped in to the nearest garden, as if it was my house and I was going home, and the car drove off with the bloke yelling "fat cunt".

It's shook me up a bit, tbh. It was a couple of hours ago and I'm posting it here because I just need to get it off my chest. I keep going from upset to angry but also laughing because who actually does that to someone?! It was absurd.

Shit like this is exactly why I'm still on the sofa, waiting for Mr Procrastination to get his shit sorted so we can go to a small park. I'm kind of hoping he'll manage it before it gets too bloody hot for me to do more than a couple of minutes trotting and the rest walking, but as he's already taken an hour and still hasn't got his kit on, I'm not counting on it.

For me, it's just not worth the hassle and abuse from men to run on the street by myself or with DP.

Nothingwillcomeofnothing · 30/05/2021 10:27

@5foot418stone
All I can say is that you could have been anyone.
They felt the need to cause hurt so they did.
They probably will keep on needing to hurt others,
You you just happened to be there at that moment in time.

Nothingwillcomeofnothing · 30/05/2021 10:28

@5foot418stone
So be thankful you don’t live with them/ are not married to them/are not their parent.

AntiSocialDistancer · 30/05/2021 10:30

@PurpleRainDancer

Sorry that happened to you.

Ring the Police - why the hell should he get away with assaulting you.

Agreed.
tukanada · 30/05/2021 10:31

That's assault. Report to police

WWYD12345 · 30/05/2021 10:33

That's awful OP. I can't get my head around people who do things like that. I don't understand what possesses them.

rainbowstardrops · 30/05/2021 10:35

That's awful! I'm so sorry you had to cross paths with that piece of shit.

ddl1 · 30/05/2021 10:39

How absolutely disgusting of him! It's him, not you. Horribly misogynist too - I bet he wouldn't have done it to a man, At best, throwing things at a passer-by is, I'm sure, illegal; at worst, there's a pretty good chance that he was drunk and therefore shouldn't have been driving at all! You should report this with as much detail as possible about location, time of day, and what the car looked like (ideally should have snapped it on your phone, but we never think of things like that when we're reeling from shock!) Don't let it stop you from running. You have every right to run; more right than he has to drive when he's at best in an aggressive mood and at worst drunk.

Meltinthemiddle · 30/05/2021 10:40

So, so sorry op that this has happened to you. I can imagine how upset you must feel and not surprised you are shocked and angery too. People like that are vile, disgusting creatures who thrive on putting others down to make themselves feel better. But please don't let this put you off reaching your goal. I always admire people who go out running when I drive past especially people of all ages and sizes. I wish I had that determination and bravery but always make excuses and feel self conscious. Try not to dwell and keep replaying it in your mind as he will have won and got to you. You are better then people like that and he is a cowardly, disgusting knob and bully who is beneath you. Hold your head up high and keep going xx

Anurulz · 30/05/2021 10:40

I feel so angry on your behalf OP. Will never understand how some "humans" are so vile and disgusting.. virtual hugs..

dottiedodah · 30/05/2021 10:41

I think a lot of the time it shows them up . They feel they should be doing the same ,cant be arsed and take it out on someone who is trying hard to keep fit .I mean honestly who is the perfect bloody shape ? not them for damn sure ! Keep on going! Used to know this guy who said "people are arseholes"(pronounced in a deep Darzet accent (asseholes),sounded hilarious but true!)

HalzTangz · 30/05/2021 10:41

We'll all I can say is, at least you are trying to make changes in your life, can't say the same about the knobs in the car,

CarnationCat · 30/05/2021 10:49

Disgusting. That's assault.

Keep going with the fitness. Don't let one scumbag knock you down.

He'll pick on the wrong person one day who retaliates. You did the right thing though by not engaging with him.

Candacej · 30/05/2021 10:49

Oh my gosh, that is so horrible. So sorry you experienced that. Nasty nasty person.
Please please report it to the police, it would be great if he got arrested for his crime.

haribojelly · 30/05/2021 10:50

Oh OP that's horrible.

Last year me and my colleague were sitting parked in a car near a local park eating our lunch. Three teenage boys rode past on bikes and threw eggs at our car whilst shouting 'fat cunts' and oinking.

Big mistake.

We're police officers and were in an unmarked car. We caught the little fuckers too. Their parents weren't impressed and let's just say a visit to the station rather ruined their day.

Please do report it if you can remember any details. Non emergency.

Dentistlakes · 30/05/2021 10:50

What an horrendous, nasty piece of work that man must be. I’m so sorry this happened to you op. The harassment of women whilst exercising is a massive problem and I have been shocked to hear it’s such a common occurrence. What happened to you is actually physical assault and if there were any way of tracking this asshole down I would be reporting him to the police.

Please don’t let this put you off exercising op. Don’t let this excuse for a human being win.

Pinkypink · 30/05/2021 10:58

Utter scum

EvenMoreFuriousVexation · 30/05/2021 11:00

So sorry OP, he was a piece of shit trying to make himself feel better by putting others down, because he's incapable of actually doing the work to improve himself.

Very similar happened to me when I lived in Brighton. Ironically when I was waiting for a bus after an appointment leading up to weight loss surgery. 🙄 You mentioned the beach - I have a vague theory that seaside towns which attract hen/stag parties can somehow normalize this type of behaviour. Like, visitors to town are getting larruped and shouty, so why can't I?

Please don't let this utter arse put you off getting yourself healthy. I would recommend PureGym or TheGymGroup as having very non-judgemental and encouraging attitudes - I started going there when I was 20 stone and they were really good with giving me workout plans etc. Xercise4Less were bugger all help.

I now weigh 10.5 stone. You've got this! Stay strong!

Osrie · 30/05/2021 11:01

Similar thing happened to me. I went to the police as I had managed to get the car registration number. I found out that they had done it to someone else and with the information I had given the police they were able to take it further and because there was more than one of us they were ready to take the person to court. Tell the police 5foot418stone every little piece of information can help.

Arbadacarba · 30/05/2021 11:01

Brilliant!
HalzTangz · 30/05/2021 11:02

I would also be tempted to get a go pro, this would capture any dicks like this, but also stool to play back the progress you are making with your running

Happycat1212 · 30/05/2021 11:09

Someone threw a bottle at me from their car whilst I was standing waiting for a bus once, completely random the car just came round the corner and whack bottle straight into my face, it was so painful and I couldn’t believe it was a plastic bottle because it hurt so much and my face hurt for ages after. Some people are just nasty.

millytilly34 · 30/05/2021 11:13

Please don't think it means you are actually fat. I was very slim and I was sitting on a bench and a group of young men came up behind me and smacked the back of my head really hard so I choked on my sandwich. They then ran off, yelling 'skinny slag'. It means nothing about you, they will assault any lone female. I walk a lot and quite often get sad men throwing stuff or insults out of cars then zooming off, it's so pathetic of them. One time the car stalled and they looked very panicked as I had to squeeze past them, ( don't know why lol) they are cowards really and I'm not letting them stop me from walking. So sorry you were assaulted.

Yorkshiremummyof1 · 30/05/2021 11:17

Tbh I think you should report this as assault

Babababababybelll · 30/05/2021 11:20

Op i completely sympathise with you.

What a disgusting thing to happen.

Its happened to me twice.
Once when i was walking down the street with my little boy, a white van (like a builders work van ) shouted something horrible about being fat.

And once when ì tried running , a lad slowed down to shout something.

Its so demoralizing.
