Someone threw a milkshake at me and oinked.

I was out for a walk tonight and I decided to try a little jog to see how it felt as I want to try c25k but I'm worried I'm a bit too fat still.

Anyway, I was just jogging along when I saw a car slow down out of the corner of my eye and then a milkshake smacked me in the head. Bloody hurt so I stopped and took out my ear buds and this guy is hanging out of the car window oinking at me.

I was too shocked to say anything to him so I just dipped in to the nearest garden, as if it was my house and I was going home, and the car drove off with the bloke yelling "fat cunt".

It's shook me up a bit, tbh. It was a couple of hours ago and I'm posting it here because I just need to get it off my chest. I keep going from upset to angry but also laughing because who actually does that to someone?! It was absurd.

I’ve had similar OP. Someone handed me a card on the bus once saying “You’re fat and it’s not ok.” I went after him and asked why it’s not ok for me to be fat but it’s ok for him to be a bullying cunt. He didn’t know where to put his face, he wasn’t expecting anyone to bite back I guess.

I had to check the date of the OP to see this wasn’t a zombie thread. Can’t believe people still do this sort of shit.
I would go back to the location and check to see if anyone had any ring footage. I’d also do a report online. I know it’s extremely unlikely the police would follow up but it might be linked to a series of incidents.

Good for you for taking the attitude you have OP, you’re a stronger person then me.

So sorry to hear this OP. There are some really aggressive, angry and misogynistic men about. I can't imagine why anyone would even think of doing something like that or the thought processes that lead to that.

It's not going to put me off! I just can't believe it happened. Bonkers. The worst that has happened before is a couple laughing at me and a man telling me I shouldn't exercise on the beach because someone might mistake me for a stranded whale ( which didn't even really make sense).

I'm sorry you had that experience, some time ago and under a different name probably I remember commenting on a thread from someone in a similar position as you who was reluctant to go out running

All the posters were saying just go, no one will even notice etc and I was roundly jumped on for saying that while in mumsnetland people would do that in the real world random would definitely judge and make remarks and laugh.

Sadly this is way some people behave

I am so sorry. Take the pain and anger from it and use it to make your dreams a reality. But also- be kind to yourself while you’re feeling bruised, and know that if you never lost a pound, you would be every bit as valid, valuable and ENOUGH. Argh I’m welling up again…

I've never experienced women doing this - it's always men. Nasty, brutish, misogynistic bastards who hate women. Had a bottle of water thrown over me out of a car window once, that was many years ago now. I feel furious at the world being like this for my DD.

WTAF?! I'm just speechless and furious at all of these incidents, plus what you wrote in your OP. Fuck them all, disgusting shitty people!! How dare they? I'm so glad that this won't stop you from exercising and getting out.

NB I drive past people who are walkers/runners. The only thing I think is "bloody good on them for getting out and about" ----> I finish work, get home and flake out!! Wish I had their determination and energy!

What a knob. Just be glad you don’t know him in real life or worse, be related to him. Now that would be embarrassing. I had similar once when walking my dog, a lad lent out car window and yelled who’s the dog. I was shocked and didn’t have time to flick him the finger. Take no notice and keep walking. 💐

So horrible. Keep doing you and starting to keep fit. Had a young bloke years ago say he didn't know how I got to be so ugly. On one of the worst mornings of my life no less. Seem able to sense when things will hurt you most. That or it's arbitary but still hurts nonetheless. As an aside he was probably the most hideous guy I've ever seen so likely deflection. Maybe this car guy was unconfident himself and deflecting too? Either way he has to go round being an utter shit all day and can't change his personality unlike you can change your weight! Grin

My jaw has just hit the ground. Always men who think they can bully women. I would love there to be a way to report this and actually see some sanction like a fine or community work.
