Anybody want to hazard a guess what it is? I feel a bit sick Envy

A mutant blueberry?

That’s pretty off putting. Have you eaten it?

Merename · 29/04/2021 17:49

Eek! No idea! Have you eaten any of it?

BeautifulandWilfulandDead · 29/04/2021 17:49

It looks like something of vegetable origin. How big is it? We need a banana for scale...

IsolaPribby · 29/04/2021 17:50
Shock

Is it animal, vegetable or mineral?

GeorgeandHarold66 · 29/04/2021 17:50

Not blueberry texture, it's rubbery and looks a bit like the bottom of a snail on the underside.
No thankfully I'd only just opened it.

😱 What kind of pasta sauce? With vegetables? Some kind of olives?

GeorgeandHarold66 · 29/04/2021 17:51

The last photo is the end of a wooden spoon for scale.

WTF 😳

CarmelBeach · 29/04/2021 17:52

It looks like squished ready to eat lentils

Could they have been made in the same factory?

GeorgeandHarold66 · 29/04/2021 17:52

It doesn't say olives on it and it really doesn't look anything like an olive. I threw the jar in the bin in horror, might have to get it out though!

Looks disgusting whatever it is!

IHaveBrilloHair · 29/04/2021 17:54

I thought it was a v small rice crispie cake at first Confused

IsolaPribby · 29/04/2021 17:54

Was the jar in date and sealed? Could it be well developed mould? Envy

LubaLuca · 29/04/2021 17:55

A clump of dried out tomato seeds, perhaps?

freecuthbert · 29/04/2021 17:55

Oh wow that looks gross, no idea what it could be... are you going to reach out to the company? I know when I was a kid my mum bought a loaf of bread (either warburton's or hovis) and there was a dead mouse inside it! The company apologised and gave us tons of free stuff, which I found really exciting as a kid! Grin

Ok, I optimistically thought maybe a lump of dried out tapenade or something but that was stupid as how would it stay dried up within a jar of sauce.

LaLaLandIsNoFun · 29/04/2021 17:59

Cut it open

Brody77 · 29/04/2021 18:01

Lick it Grin

Yes yes - perform a dissection, for the purposes of science!
TSSDNCOP · 29/04/2021 18:05

Has it got a teeny head - right of shot.

You're going to need a head torch, kitchen knife, garlic and crucifix.

Woman up Op, you've got this.

joystir59 · 29/04/2021 18:06

Cut it open, also smell it. Report back with photos and contact the manufacturer, they will keep you in pasta sauce for life if you don't go to the press.

PanamaPattie · 29/04/2021 18:07

Does it look the same on both sides?

joystir59 · 29/04/2021 18:07

Also, please post a photo of its underside.

RiverSkater · 29/04/2021 18:09

It looks like a truffle?

Imreaaaaady · 29/04/2021 18:09

Looks like the burnt stuff off the bottom of a pan. Lentils like a PP said. Picture of jar and ingredients?
