Yeah.....that'll be your basic eggsac

joystir59 · 29/04/2021 18:13

Could be worth a non if it's a truffle Grin
But how likely is it that a real actual truffle would find its way into the Dolmio factory?

Tittyfilarious · 29/04/2021 18:13

Ewww looks like mould possibly

joystir59 · 29/04/2021 18:13

*Bob not non

WeatherwaxOn · 29/04/2021 18:14

Whatever it is, it looks repulsive. Presumably you'll contact the manufacturer and let them know in case there are other jars in the same batch with equally bizarre contents?

joystir59 · 29/04/2021 18:15

Yeah.....that'll be your basic eggsac
Grin

schroeder · 29/04/2021 18:16

It does not look good.

Tambora · 29/04/2021 18:16

That is properly yuk.

Thewolvesarerunningagain · 29/04/2021 18:18

@bellropes

Yeah.....that'll be your basic eggsac
Oh god, what if it hatches?
muddyford · 29/04/2021 18:18

It looks like a load of black olives stuck together.

CarmelBeach · 29/04/2021 18:20

Yes, if you cut it open, do it outside.
BlackeyedPetitsPois · 29/04/2021 18:22

Reverse image search comes up with this.

Found this in a jar of pasta sauce.
User657849 · 29/04/2021 18:23

Ew, David!

MargaretThursday · 29/04/2021 18:23

Spider eggs...

freecuthbert · 29/04/2021 18:24

Just looking at that reverse image search... not sure how obsidian would wind up in a sauce jar Shock

purplecorkheart · 29/04/2021 18:24

Chopped up capers?

BlackeyedPetitsPois · 29/04/2021 18:27

@freecuthbert I know! I thought that too. Hmm

GeorgeandHarold66 · 29/04/2021 18:28

This is the underside. It has a firm jelly/rubbery texture.

AutoIncorrect · 29/04/2021 18:29

Frog spawn

TonyChestnut · 29/04/2021 18:29

@GeorgeandHarold66

The last photo is the end of a wooden spoon for scale.
But how big is the wooden spoon? Could you take a photo of the spoon next to a kiwi fruit, for the sake of science?
SomethingAboutNothing · 29/04/2021 18:30

Yeah that looks like a healthy growth of mould to me Envy

Caramel81 · 29/04/2021 18:30

A mouldy artichoke heart?

NecklessMumster · 29/04/2021 18:31

It looks like solidified mould to me

BlackeyedPetitsPois · 29/04/2021 18:31

That pic of the underside reminds me of a sun dried tomato. Maybe it’s one of those with some tomato seeds stuck on it?

L0bstersLass · 29/04/2021 18:32

Yes, please do this. You really should contact the manufacturer to let them know as other jars could be affected too and they'll need to do a product recall, or at least put a warning out.
