One of the things I dislike about getting older is...

My increasing awareness of my shins. As in knowing that if I bump them, there'll be consequences

What's yours?

Knees. I never used to give a thought to my knees. Now they are consulted and given the utmost consideration at all times. If knees don't fancy it, it won't happen.
Haven't got to the shins stage yet. Does that come next?

PoptartPoptart · 25/04/2021 16:38

Having to make time every day to manage my facial hair.

Thefamilybusiness · 25/04/2021 16:39

Knees. Nobody told me they'd be knees like these! They ache and seize up, I make that old person noise when I get up. I'm 48.
Also what happened to sleep. The kids are now at the age where they don't get me up at the crack of dawn but my body does, I want a lie in!

NameChangedForThisFeb21 · 25/04/2021 16:43

My biological fucking clock.

Wrong side of 35 and childless Sad.

EmpressWitchDoesntBurn · 25/04/2021 16:45

Omega tablets & yoga have really helped my knees. I’m 47.

EmpressWitchDoesntBurn · 25/04/2021 16:45

Omega 3 that is.

TwoZeroTwoZero · 25/04/2021 16:46

The hairs on my chin are growing at an alarming rate.

My hip hurts if I spend too much time on my feet, walking around or bending down. Being a primary school supply teacher, this is a bit of a problem...

Splann · 25/04/2021 16:46

The knowledge that the menopause is looming. No symptoms yet but my mum had a horrendous time of it so I’m feeling a bit fearful of it.

Also I’m starting to look older rather than younger when I lose weight.

chutneypig · 25/04/2021 16:48

Currently my thinning eyebrows.

Oversize · 25/04/2021 16:48

My knees are better now than they were 5 years ago. I take supplements.
But I know my shins will be all kinds of interesting colours tomorrow because I bumped them today.
Also my fantom is going grey and a bit baldy looking.
I wasn't prepared for thatSad

Facing the sun damage from years of happily sunning myself in the 80’s.

Oversize · 25/04/2021 16:50

I hear that SecretWitch.
I've had a BCC removed form my face already.

Bastard chin hair

I'm always amazed how I can see a tiny innocent looking hair, pluck it and 6 feet of it comes out from underneath my skin. Then by the next morning it's back in its full glory Confused

MissyB1 · 25/04/2021 16:53

not being able to tolerate alcohol
aches and pains
insomnia
poor eyesight - and getting worse all the time!
being aware that life is shorter

Oversize · 25/04/2021 16:57

My Hollywood browser does for my facial hair and I try to kid myself the Marilyn Monroe refused to get rid of her peach fluff because it made her look all glory on camera whereas mine just makes me look like a werewolf.
And not in a good way.

OP posts:
OrchidLass · 25/04/2021 16:57

OP what supplements do you take for your knees?

Oversize · 25/04/2021 16:58

I’m right with you. I’m having a dermatologist take a look at this very black and irregular mole on back.
19thNamechange · 25/04/2021 17:01

My spare tyre and being tired all the time. Worrying about my health generally. Can't eat treats without putting on weight now - I used to get away with it.

BreakfastOfWaffles · 25/04/2021 17:01

Taking so much longer to recover from muscle strains, and the fact that exercise doesn't have the effects it once had.

idontlikealdi · 25/04/2021 17:03

Yep same here
Devlesko · 25/04/2021 17:04

People think you're having a mid life crisis when you have more time at your disposal to research latest trends. In all sorts of things, not just clothes or even fashionable, just different.

Chin hair, and state of my skin. Health problems and those of my dh.

DinosaurDiana · 25/04/2021 17:04

Achy knees, achy back.
Not tolerating alcohol.
Losing hair and eyebrows.
My eyesight is starting to go but I won’t give into it.
And since wearing masks I’ve realised my hearing is going too.
And now I’ve got the turkey throat - that lump dangling down under my chin.
