One of the things I dislike about getting older is...

My increasing awareness of my shins. As in knowing that if I bump them, there'll be consequences

What's yours?

@Oversize what do you use I've never done it before

AdaFuckingShelby · 25/04/2021 18:27

Not being able to tolerate alcohol is an unexpected twist. Mind you, I like to be in bed by 9 anyway these days. Would be nice to have a boozy lunch without 3 days of tiredness and feeling like death afterwards though..

Oversize · 25/04/2021 18:28

I mean, can you imagine??

Which of my moans are you referring to Queen?😁

I also have fucking pubes coming out of my chin. And neck.

One day nothing, the next day an inch long? How?

Ridges in my nails.

queenofthenorthwest · 25/04/2021 18:29

The eyebrow thing please Grin

KillingMeDeftly · 25/04/2021 18:29

For everyone saying "chin hair" I cannot overstate how the Phillips Lumea has changed my life. You don't even need the top of the range model as the cheapest one will do the trick. I do still get a few chin hairs but they take a lot longer to come through and they aren't as thick. Seriously life changing!

KillingMeDeftly · 25/04/2021 18:30

And if you're going to get a Lumea then do it sooner rather than later because once the chin hairs turn grey then it won't work on them!

Alternista · 25/04/2021 18:32

I’m so tired all the damn time.
Wake up tired, live tired. Tired tired tired.

Eat well, take supplements, blood tests don’t show anything. Just TIRED.

Oversize · 25/04/2021 18:33

I got a Hollywood Browzer from Amazon of the back of a link on here. It's very satisfying to see the clouds of white fluff floating into the sink and it really doesn't grow back any worse. Also it does something exfoliating at the same time I think but I got it for my (shhh) beard so I'm not sure about that.

Kids fall over, they might have a cry but yeah it’s all good. Off they go

I fall over and I’m bruised and aching for weeks

Oversize · 25/04/2021 18:34

Aches and pains in the morning. (It will only get worse I suppose).

Oversize · 25/04/2021 18:35

Hmm yes. I'm of the age where I won't be falling over...I'll be 'having a fall'

Right. I've had a boozy family lunch and a little rest with MN so now I need to walk the dog.
Wish me and my already technicolour shins good luck!🤣

Same here. BCC removed from face.

soupmaker · 25/04/2021 18:49

@KillingMeDeftly I've been considering a Lumea but I'm very fair and most of my hair is fair too. I say fair, I'm grey basically. I also worry that my rosacea prone skin will not react well to the Lumea. I've such sensitive skin it goes bright red if I so much as sniff alcohol or see a blink of sunshine.

What's made all this worse is DH was looking for something in the loft and found a photo of me at 35 and I look fantastic. If only I'd known then how I'd look and feel now. 15 years and 2 kids later have not been kind.

And whomever said gums, they are an absolute nightmare. I have teeth that look like tombstones now.

Sigh.

RosieLeaLovesTea · 25/04/2021 19:33

Everything on the lower half of my body has gone really soft. I’m only 43. I used to have time to go to the gym but not with 2 kids 6 and 4 and working 50 hrs a week. So my thighs and hips/bottom is just so soft and floppy. I’m not overweight as I’m 8 stone 4. When I used to go to the gym I was toned and it was firm. I also have a lot more cellulite on my thighs and bottom. Any good tips of getting rid of cellulite?

PyjamaFan · 25/04/2021 19:35

I can't really drink anymore, definitely no more evenings necking cocktails as in my younger days!

Also I knew I would age, go grey etc but wasn't prepared for losing my prettiness.

Sad
MsAwesomeDragon · 25/04/2021 19:40

Those people saying farting, that's me!! I have discovered that a low carb diet stops the majority of it though. (I also discovered I'd rather eat cake and fart Blush)

Thighdentitycrisis · 25/04/2021 19:54

pubes growing down my thighs!! gross

Chatanooga1 · 25/04/2021 19:59

Everyone expects me to be a fountain of wisdom especially in quizzes when there are history questions.

I wasn’t actually around during the Crimean war so I don’t know why others expect me to know all about it.

Frownette · 25/04/2021 19:59

One?! Just ONE?? I don't think I can have children now. My surgery aren't so sure (this is a moot point as I'm not trying). I have a few crinkly whites so I think my hair will go white brillo pad when the time comes.

I think maybe my answer would be I dislike being older and less nippy. Nippy as in getting around, my nipples appear to be fine.

BlackeyedSusan · 25/04/2021 20:11

Yeah, most of that.

PPCD · 25/04/2021 20:15

Creaking whenever I move. Making oof noises when I stand up.
