sodding I hope you find him soon.

It is - of course - raining again, but the Blauregen (wisteria?) is in full bloom and looks great. And the Kapuzinerkresse (nasturtiums?) shows first signs of life.

Chimen · 16/05/2021 08:40

Couldn’t decide between white cotton and brilliant white.
They didn’t have white cotton so we went for brilliance white. Now I’m not quite sure.

soddingkitten · 16/05/2021 08:44

He is back! Safe and sound. We think he has a taste for adventure now and this was the first of what will be many teen overnighters. DH and I are so, so relieved. DH is talking about going back to bed for a nap shortlya as we are both knackered. 🤣 DS1 heard him heralding his arrival from his bedroom window over the course of 5-10 minutes as he got nearer to home. His miaow has been atypically quiet for a Siamese but it turns out he can yowl with the best of them when he feels the need.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 16/05/2021 08:52

Is sodding chipped and registered?

Felix was observed by neighbours to jump (not fall) out of a fourth floor window, jump over a 2,5 m fence, then he wisked into some woman's flat, when she was heading out to work. She called the police and we had to go and fetch him from the shelter and cart a very big, pissed off cat across Berlin via public transport. We have a lovely shelter but it is some way out and it was really hot.

Spudlet · 16/05/2021 09:03

Oh phew! Naughty sodding! What a relief though 😊

Siamese can certainly make themselves heard.

Goodness, I missed all the excitement. So glad sodding is home Smile

languagelover96 · 16/05/2021 09:20

Happy Sunday all.

Milo finally started barking. And he rattles the gate as well whenever he is alone. He has even started climbing the stairs as of yesterday too.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 16/05/2021 09:25

languagelover96 Will he have to start 'school' soon? (And did you post a foto?)

soddingkitten · 16/05/2021 09:36

Yes, he is microchipped Prok but we can’t keep a collar on him. He fights his way out of whatever we put on him. I have two unused name tags in the kitchen. 🙄

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 16/05/2021 09:54

Neither Felix nor Sev ever got used to a collar, but they were both chipped and registered, too.
Felix was outdoor and very well able to take care of himself and Sev was simply too dim to be allowed out.

Squirrel26 · 16/05/2021 10:36

I am quite glad I missed the adventures of both Sodding and Spuddog and just read through to the happy ending!

Did a marathon-length walk yesterday (it was a sponsored thing for charity). The dog came too and is absolutely unaffected this morning. I am knackered, and still need to clean the whole house today as I didn’t have time to do anything yesterday.

HildaTablet · 16/05/2021 11:23

I’m very glad to hear that sodding came back.

When we moved to our current house, we kept our two DCats indoors for a couple of weeks (they spent most of it huddled together in a terrified heap in an inaccessible corner of our new outhouse). Finally we decided it was time to let them out.

DCat2 didn’t come back that evening and we got increasingly distraught. I was working shifts at the time and getting up at 4am. I barely slept all night and was convinced he’d disappeared forever. When I crawled downstairs, feeling like death, and opened the door, in he waltzed, all perky and self-important, tail waving triumphantly, presumably having done a mega-survey of his new kingdom (we’d moved from London to the country and he’d never seen a field before).

The relief.....

Silkiecats · 16/05/2021 11:32

Glad Sodding is back. Silkiecat is not the bravest of cats and normally ventures no more than 1 metre past the back door with it open. But when she was one the first time she ever went out as too scared before was a quivering wreck clinging to my foot before so we gave up, she got out via a roof window and came back pregnant. We located her to our neighbours where she had been given her own room.

soddingkitten · 16/05/2021 12:25

The relief.....

God, yes. It was massive. There has been so much coverage of pedigree cats and dogs being stolen, after injury or death my next worst fear was never seeing him again and not knowing. He is completely unfazed this morning, whereas we are all exhausted (but relieved).

I couldn’t find lime leaves for my Malaysian chicken curry in the shops so I have added curry leaves from my spice drawer.

Squirrel26 · 16/05/2021 12:29

When I was young our cat went missing and was finally located under the bath (floor boards taken up for some kind of plumbing-related reason). He was black, so pretty difficult to see under there!

theDudesmummy · 16/05/2021 13:29

When my (now long-departed) beloved cat was a kitten she spent two days under the dishwasher while we combed the neighbourhood putting up signs and offering large rewards...

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 16/05/2021 14:10

We need more plant pots.

And ..... it is raining again!

MissConductUS · 16/05/2021 14:41

I'm so glad that Sodding has made his return. Episodes like this make me glad that the coyotes give us a good reason to keep the cats indoors.

They do have the deck where they can sun, feel the breeze in their fur and look down on their forest. I potted some more plants yesterday and set up the table and hammock, so the deck is now set for setup for the spring and summer. Dboycat has already had his first nap on one of the chairs.

Miss You do have a lovely place!

mathanxiety · 16/05/2021 16:30

Great news about Sodding Smile

MissConductUS · 16/05/2021 18:00

Thanks, Prok, the deck is our favorite part of the house. I don't have to vacuum out their either. DH blows it off with a battery powered leaf blower.

We had a bit of rain but the sun is now back. That's good news as we plan to barbecue tonight.

DH and I went for a walk where we experience a wide range of weathers in a short space of time. Suffice it to say we have wet coats, towels, leads etc hanging up, and are also sunburnt Grin

DDog2 has visited another pub and (in DH's words) "not kicked off" again. This is excellent news for our upcoming holiday and is the sort of dog training both DH and I are fully on board with Wink

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 16/05/2021 18:25

I found a green pepper that needed to be used, so I took what other vegetables I could find and made kısır.

soddingkitten · 16/05/2021 18:25

I had coffee in the garden with a friend that did the rapid weather cycle too Champagne. I feel sorry anyone who is camping this weekend.
