Just that really!

Are you still Miss Maiden, Mrs Maiden, Ms Maiden or something else??

OP posts:
skeggycaggy · 12/04/2021 07:33

Ms Maiden.

NommyChompers · 12/04/2021 07:34

Ms Maiden

LividLiving · 12/04/2021 07:35

Ms Deed Polled

Breathmiller · 12/04/2021 07:36

Ms MaidenName

Drives me batty that most of my family refuse to accept it (after 20 years of marriage) and they still use MrsDhName. They say they can't remember! They can't remember the name I have had for 50 years! And in the case of my parents, not only the same name as them but the name they gave me! Rant over. Grin

I used Ms and Mrs interchangeably. I'm now Dr which sort of solved the dilemma but brings its own problems.

SnowAllSpring · 12/04/2021 07:45

Dr.

But I usually use Ms in everyday life, just as I did before I was married.

Pumpkinpops · 12/04/2021 07:46

I use Ms Maiden name

Soothes · 12/04/2021 07:48

I don't know anyone IRL who uses Ms and yet it seems completely usual to everyone on MN.

Lockdownbear · 12/04/2021 07:48

I use my maiden name for work for various reasons, very rarely use any title, would need to check what HR have me listed as.

Other stuff that I couldn't be bothered to change, like the bank so Miss Maidename on my bank card.
But married name at the Doctors just so me and kids have the same name. Mrs Married.

onthinice · 12/04/2021 07:49

Miss Maiden (but not exactly what you were asking as I am now divorced and have gone back to this after being Mrs Married for 14 years.... Never again!)

Bearsbearsbears40 · 12/04/2021 07:49

Ms MyName (I refuse to use the phrase maiden name).

Sweetmotherofallthatisholyabov · 12/04/2021 07:49

I wouldn't have a clue what people use in real life when do you see it? I'm a Ms but couldn't answer for anyone else

DJattheendoftheworld · 12/04/2021 07:50

Ms MyName, same as before I got married.

MaryIsA · 12/04/2021 07:50

Ms Maiden. I imagine it dates me....

Sometimes Mrs Maiden.

EileenGC · 12/04/2021 07:52

Ms MyName, just as I’ve been every single day of my life. I don’t remember my birth certificate or school register saying ‘Maiden Name’.

Soothes · 12/04/2021 07:52

Well, I work in school, so quite often. A staff off 150, probably 70% women and not one Ms. None at my 2 previous schools either.

Before that I worked somewhere clients were always referred to by Title Surname and Ms was really unusual there too.

custardbear · 12/04/2021 07:53

Dr married name or Mrs married name

tilder · 12/04/2021 07:54

My name and title have not changed since the day I was born.

I am not anybodies property and I will not be defined by martial status.

I agree this causes people problems. 'Oh but I don't know what to call you if you don't take dh name'.

EventuallyDistracted · 12/04/2021 07:54

Ms MySurname, same as before marriage. I object to the term maiden name.

LavendulaAngustifolia · 12/04/2021 07:55

First name Maiden name. If I'm forced to tick a box it'll be Ms.

SwanShaped · 12/04/2021 07:59

Ms MySurname

TheDogsMother · 12/04/2021 08:05

Also Firstname Myname and if I have to use a title then it's Ms. It's been this all my adult life and through first and current marriage.

Metheven · 12/04/2021 08:06

Miss Myname. Been married for 30 years and most people still don't "get it".

BadEyeBri · 12/04/2021 08:13

Dr BadEyeBri

Itsjustricemichael · 12/04/2021 08:14

Ms My name.
As do all the women in my family except the eldest.
