This thread is really comforting! Great idea OP.

I can hear the tv, the hum of the fridge and the static of the baby monitor

VictoriaLudorum · 15/04/2021 21:16

I can hear DH and DS1 watching The Karate Kid while I desperately try to ignore it while reading. Also clock ticking and bus driving past the front of the house. I thought of this thread the other night while lying in bed when I heard a tawny owl outside! Haven't heard one around here for years.

The boiler whirring away & dd2's just left her room to use the bathroom.

Blissfully quiet for ten minutes with a Brew

Silkiescats · 16/04/2021 06:47

Birds singing and husband moving plates in the kitchen. And the microwave as he's making me a milky coffee and bringing it to me in bed.

StrangeAddiction · 16/04/2021 07:54

Clock ticking
My breathing
Birds tweeting outside
The boiler

Norugratsatall · 17/04/2021 11:12

So many on here with tinnitus. 😔 I'm wondering whether it's worth starting a support thread, if one doesn't exist already...

MonkeyPuddle · 17/04/2021 11:35

DD snuffly breathing while being breastfed, her scratching her nails on my t shirt.
Next door doing his driveway.
Birds through the open back window

Suzi888 · 17/04/2021 11:37

Washing machine, birds tweeting and my child bouncing on her trampolineGrin. Luckily the neighbours are out!

ScarletZebra · 17/04/2021 11:59

Builders crashing about next door. Whiny strimmer of the woman 2 doors up who can only ever do loud gardening at the weekend despite being retired. Angry

AbsolutelyPatsy · 17/04/2021 12:35

washing machine doing the third wash of the day

Pinkpowderpuff · 18/04/2021 09:52

@Norugratsatall I know, it's kind of reassuring that we aren't alone with tinnitus - it can be a struggle and quite lonely, especially when in the initial stages. Would be good to hear from people who have had it a while and see how they successfully manage it. I've been hoping it will go eventually but a few months down the line I'm still waiting!

Complete silence

ssd · 18/04/2021 09:57

Dh snoring

lightand · 18/04/2021 10:01

A couple of electrical machines.
DH's occasional slurping.

CarnageAtTheStGeorgesFete · 18/04/2021 10:05

My diffuser humming ever so slightly in the background.

Dh going up and down the stairs (he is painting the bedroom, why on a sunny Sunday when he could have done it in the winter, I do not know.)

TheThingsWeAdmitOnMN · 18/04/2021 10:21

Birds chirping, they start about 4am, they'll stop soon

The cars going past. It was lovely without them in LD1

I know it's Sunday as it's the only day the vets next door aren't holding clinics outdoors from 7am. I'm going to miss that when they start only working inside again.

A couple of young kids (pre school) with their Dad, going to either the park or the little corner shop, chuffed with life, wherever they're going. daddy sounds like he needs coffee!!

I'm not at all religious, but I'm hoping the nearby church starts with its bells again soon. I've missed them.

TheThingsWeAdmitOnMN · 18/04/2021 10:30

...and now a horse walking past...

Twinkie01 · 18/04/2021 10:33

DD murdering an Adele song on the piano and DH on his Peloton with the volume at a million ducking degrees. DS listening to some shite rap music whilst he is showering.

He wonders why I get up and go for a run away from them all.

sadpapercourtesan · 18/04/2021 10:37

18yo DS1 and DH having a spirited discussion about Jeremy Corbyn
Fish tank pump humming
Tap dripping
Cat trying and failing to undo the catch on the egg box
Wood pigeon

LeeluTheNarwhal · 19/04/2021 08:35

Roadworks which started outside at 8am

DH watching breakfast TV loudly due to same roadworks

DD searching her room for her school timetable and jotters as she's finally back today but she was tidying her room through the holidays and put them "somewhere safe".

ZZTopGuitarSolo · 20/04/2021 15:25

I'm at a vaccine centre where everyone is given a timer while they wait for 15 minutes, so I am mostly hearing timers going off. I keep thinking I need to jump up and check whatever is cooking.
