FrangipaniBlue · 10/04/2021 22:58

Frownette · 10/04/2021 23:00

Literallynoidea · 10/04/2021 23:00

DH heavy breathing (he's asleep)

That's it. Live in London but it's so quiet these days

Hoolihan · 10/04/2021 23:02

Plane, barking dog, heating ticking/clanking and for some inexplicable reason someone somewhere is letting off fireworks.

TrashPanda · 10/04/2021 23:02

Gentle hum from the fridge and distant road noise from cars driving past in the rain. All children and DP in bed so it’s all quiet. This is a dangerous time for me as I should go to bed...but the silence after noise all day feels wasted by sleeping through it.

MMM2 · 10/04/2021 23:03

rocky...on the TV

Twoforthree · 10/04/2021 23:42

I'm in bed with the window slightly often and I can hear dh breathing beside me and the faint sound of traffic a good way away. There is also a slight hum in my head that I can hear now I'm listening, but wasn't aware of before Shock

Milomonster · 11/04/2021 10:44

I live in the doorstep of a park. My lounge window is open and I can birds tweeting, children screaming in the distance, dogs barking and people chatting. All happy sounds Smile

@Frownette

A few people have said tinnitus, how bad is it? I can hear a very low level hum when it's quiet at night but I think that's just things like e.g. fridge, radiator hum etc
Depends on the person that's experiencing it.

I went from being able to hear the constant sound of domestic transformers when it was allegedly silent to hearing a constant hiss like when there's audio equipment switched on and power going to the speakers but no music playing. But just in the one ear.

It's usually something I'm aware of but not too terrible. However, when I have a cold, it's fucking horrific on both sides; had a chat with a BSL interpreter at work one day when we both had a cold and the majority of the conversation was us making gestures rather like explosions going on in our ears, swearing about partners who FUCKING MUMBLE and FUCKING TURN AWAY or FUCKING COVER THEIR MOUTHS and then they FUCKING SAY 'IT DOESN'T MATTER'.

Current noises are DP upstairs playing guitar (just the sounds of the strings as he's got headphones on), C4 news, the cat fountain, next door going out, the hot water clicking on and the boiler firing up, the cat scratching the top of her head, the freezer - and the fucking tinnitus.
