Bbq1 · 09/04/2021 16:00

The clock ticking
The filter/airstone in the fish tank making a soft trickling sound.

It's very relaxing. Ds is out with friends, dh is in bed as night-shift tonight. House is so quiet. I could really dose off right now. Gtg shopping though 😕

Crikeymalikey · 09/04/2021 22:53

The t.v, the living room fish tank and the kitchen fish tank.

UpTheLaganInABubble · 09/04/2021 23:10

Frownette · 09/04/2021 23:13

Plane

NeverDropYourMoonCup · 10/04/2021 00:29

Cars.

A motorbike.

My own breathing.

Oh, and guess what? That's right. Fucking tinnitus.

Frownette · 10/04/2021 00:48

A few people have said tinnitus, how bad is it? I can hear a very low level hum when it's quiet at night but I think that's just things like e.g. fridge, radiator hum etc

Pinkpowderpuff · 10/04/2021 09:28

@Frownette It's different for different people. Mine is high pitched electrical zapping noise then different lower tones in each ear. Best place to tell if it's in your head is to sit in the car somewhere quiet. If it's tinnitus you'll be able to hear it. Don't worry if it is - sounds like yours is quiet enough to not be bothersome.

Birds chattering, chickens clucking, cockerel crowing, the washing machine sloshing rhythmically. I’ve been hiding in the bathroom for far longer than is strictly necessary because it’s so wonderfully peaceful.

lucysmam · 10/04/2021 09:49

The fridge humming.
Neighbour locking up & driving away.
Rain outside
The odd movement from upstairs - not sure if dd2 is awake or not.

CigarsofthePharoahs · 10/04/2021 10:17

Ds2 playing a game on his tablet that seems to be lots of characters saying "Hello!"
Ds2 stacking the dishwasher badly.

BearSoFair · 10/04/2021 10:30

DD playing Animal Crossing
Cat purring
Radio faintly from the kitchen

Frownette · 10/04/2021 10:32

@Pinkpowderpuff I'll do an experiment in the (quiet) park later :)

Yours sounds a lot more distracting. I can't hear anything at the moment aside from the pigeons and occasional vehicle.

LoveFall · 10/04/2021 20:13

The wind howling outside around our 8th floor balcony. Really windy here. It has been windy and cold for days. It has killed my sweet peas and nasturtium seedlings. That'll teach me for putting them out too soon.

Pinkpowderpuff · 10/04/2021 20:32

Tonight I can hear -
DS1 watching rubbish on YouTube
Aromatherapy vaporiser gently humming
Budgie eating seeds
DH chomping on chocolate 😐
Boiler humming
DS2 singing in bed
Tinnitus

TheVolturi · 10/04/2021 20:36

Brahms lullaby

Doihavetogotoworkdotcom1 · 10/04/2021 21:05

Window open, I can hear the distance sounds of cars

LolaNova · 10/04/2021 22:08

Baby snoring, husband snoring, occasional snore from toddler’s room (I’m the only one without a cold 🙄). Slight hum from the heater in our room. Occasional noises from the house rabbit downstairs jumping about.

TheChosenTwo · 10/04/2021 22:17

The extractor fan, the dishwasher and some music coming from the other room. It’s oddly peaceful in here so I’m lying on the sofa not moving to join the rest of the family Grin
Please don’t tell anyone I’m here!
