What shops have you never bought anything from?

These are all in my local area and I've never bought from them.

Next
New look
Joules
Boden
M&S (was given a £20 gift card from them, struggled to find anything to buy so sold it)
Waitress
Fat face
Mountain warehouse
Costa coffee
Starbucks
Boots (use pharmacy but never bought from the actual shop)

You said you didn't use the voucher because you couldn't find anything you liked. Not that you would prefer the cash because M&S food is expensive (although like Waitrose can be really cheap if you find yellow stickers).

Matalan isn't any cheaper than New Look

hiredandsqueak · 28/03/2021 10:07

Aldi and Lidl, I've never been in either. I've only ever bought one item from Monsoon as well.

@Imissmoominmama

I will never shop in Primark. Not because I’m rich, but because I’d rather shop in a charity shop than buy throwaway fashion.
There's a lot of Primark stuff in our local charity shops. Grin

I have bought towels, homeware and underwear from Primark, they have some nice stuff sometimes.

Ivchangedmynameforthis · 28/03/2021 10:14

Sod the underwear Id have bought £20 worth of Percy Pigs Blush

I've had a few things from Primark that have lasted years. I've never bought throwaway fashion' from anywhere. Primark also do good quality baby clothes which I've passed on and had passed to me over the years.

@LudoBear

Those commenting on me not spending the £20 voucher... by selling it I would have been able to get more for my money in other shops. It came from a food bank, if that helps you to understand. Rather than £20 worth of food in M&S I could probably get a couple more items in morrisons for same price. I actually used the money for petrol to get me to a job interview.
Bless you @LudoBear .
Sparklingbrook · 28/03/2021 10:18

I was in Home Bargains last night. Is it really that much cheaper than elsewhere?
Same as The Range-that never seems much cheaper to me.

TroysMammy · 28/03/2021 10:19

Schuh
Fat Face
Superdry
JD Sports
River Island
Lush
Costa and Starbucks
Kentucky Fried Chicken

LivingDeadGirlUK · 28/03/2021 10:21

Farmfoods, Quality save, costa.

The first two because iceland and tesco are better, costa because we have lots of nicer coffee shops.

Oh richer sounds, too expensive.

Dressinggownchic · 28/03/2021 10:21

That’s very different to not finding anything you like in M8S.

I tried Costa once and never again.
Never shopped in...
M&co
Bonn Marche
Adidas
Forever 21
Peacocks
Greggs
Shoe zone

Years ago I discovered Harrods sell the foundation to use cheaper than boots... was a pleasant surprise when I arrived in London without my make up bag for a long weekend Confused.

I don't understand not buying from M&S with a voucher though that is a bit odd

Inthevirtualwaitingroom · 28/03/2021 10:26

Mrsjayy · 28/03/2021 10:28

Just saw your update about the M&S voucher.fair enough the money was handier.

nor
White Stuff
Boden
Joules

Marpan · 28/03/2021 10:30

It’s a bit of a sweeping statement to say that only people in well paid jobs shop in M&S.

I don’t think the food is that much more expensive, if at all, for many items than say Sainsburys.

StanfordPines · 28/03/2021 10:31

I agree. I has an air of cheapness. Stuff looks like it should be cheap but if you compare like with like I don’t think it’s that much cheaper. There is a lot of stuff in Home Bargain/The Range/ B&M that you can’t really get in other places, like plastic storage, and things like cushions are cheaper but for most stuff it’s no cheaper really.
TeaAddict235 · 28/03/2021 10:32

And the mini Percy pigs that my DM seems to live off
Ninkanink · 28/03/2021 10:32

@LudoBear I think people have got the wrong end of the stick a bit because your original comment didn’t make it clear that your shopping habits are formed by budget constraints.

Of course it made sense to sell the voucher and make the money go further elsewhere.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 28/03/2021 10:33

Mrsjayy · 28/03/2021 10:33

I've never seen a Boden shop anywhere I assumed it was just the jaunty catalogue everybody bought from 😀

Sparklingbrook · 28/03/2021 10:34

Thanks @StanfordPines, it's not just me then. I got bin bags, Felix cat food and laundry powder and I thought it was the same price as the supermarket. I went there as they opened until 10pm.
