What shops have you never bought anything from?

These are all in my local area and I've never bought from them.

Next
New look
Joules
Boden
M&S (was given a £20 gift card from them, struggled to find anything to buy so sold it)
Waitress
Fat face
Mountain warehouse
Costa coffee
Starbucks
Boots (use pharmacy but never bought from the actual shop)

@LudoBear

Unfortunately not everyone is in a well paid job and can afford to shop in M&S, Waitrose etc. They are incredibly expensive to me.
That's fair enough. Buy to suit your budget. I thought it was about preference.

@Souther

Wilko
I love Wilko. I can never walk past one without having a look round. I love The Range as well. We have one with an excellent garden department where I live.

It's a shame that you couldn't have used the voucher to treat yourself to something nice. Maybe that's why you were given it?

I have never even seen anything I remotely want to buy in Zara. The Meadowhall shop is like a jumble sale, which I find off putting. I really dislike having to rummage when clothes shopping.

I would love to be able to shop in Fortnum and Mason @lboogy Grin

That Meadowhall Zara is insane. I've never seen anything like it.
UCOinaUCG · 28/03/2021 09:13

Thinking about my local shops then I have never bought from Superdry and I have only bought clothing for DD2 in Jack Wills not for me. I have shopped in every store OP mentioned but not all of them recently.

BlusteryLake · 28/03/2021 09:16

I have never bought from Primark, White Stuff or Monsoon. The colour palette of the latter two always seems a bit muted for my liking. Primark just makes me feel overwhelmed by a sea of poor quality stuff that looks like it wouldn't last a week.

Don't think enough people understand how tight cash is for a significant percentage of households. We had a short period where £20 for an item of clothing was impossible, so we would simply never shop.

I get it OP, many of those shops are not cheap at all.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 28/03/2021 09:18

I've never bought anything from M&S. The clothes are boring and not my style and the food is overpriced.

Other places I've never bought anything from in my local high street - Bon Marche, Peacocks, Dorothy Perkins, Home Bargains, Farmfoods, Iceland, Burton, Shoe Zone. Most of the clothes shops actually as most of my clothes come from vintage stores.

Doyoumind · 28/03/2021 09:19

I'm not a shopping fan but I've shopped at least once in most high street shops in my life. There are a lot I almost never go in but I've bought at least one thing in. So many clothes and shoe shops I don't go near.

Lurleene · 28/03/2021 09:21

I had a similar experience to BikeRunSki in Zara, I never shop in there either.

I have never spent a penny in Superdry (for my kids not me) as the first time I went in there the guy working in there was so breathtakingly rude.

Username0981237645 · 28/03/2021 09:24

I ordered once from white stuff but didn't even try it on, when it arrived, does that count?
Never shopped in cos, toast, ghost.. and many of the other shops that get mentioned regularly on the S&B board.

StanfordPines · 28/03/2021 09:26

I think, budget aside, clothes shops very much depend on your personal style. I get nearly everything from Seasalt, Boden and Joules. I’ve never bought anything from Zara and I’ve not been in Top Shop and New Look for decades.
(I know that my choice of clothing store will have me down as a frump on here but I like it and I don’t care).

Mumblechum0 · 28/03/2021 09:27

Aldi

Lidl

Wandered round them both but found them weirdly set out, poor choice and gave up.

jendifer · 28/03/2021 09:28

Sports Direct
Primark

Sparklingbrook · 28/03/2021 09:28

I have shopped in all the shops on OP’s list of where they do shop and where they don’t. 🤷‍♀️

May17th · 28/03/2021 09:28

Urban outfitters and Superdry!

Disfordarkchocolate · 28/03/2021 09:29

One item in Zara here. It generally looks like a jumble sale and the sizing is ridiculous.

I've used all the shops you list but we use the more affordable options like B&M too.

LegendDairy · 28/03/2021 09:30

Toyshop
Zara
Joules
Next
River Island
All saints
Urban. Outfitters
Jones
The Range
Waterstones
Rymans
McDonald's

Doyoumindfisithere · 28/03/2021 09:30

I realise I have shopped everywhere because I shop rarely and just suddenly think 'I want a green cardigan' and then have to scour everywhere to find one.

I think some people stick to specific shops but I have zero loyalty, I know what I am looking for.

trappedsincesundaymorn · 28/03/2021 09:32

Primark
TK Maxx
Matalan
Sports direct
White Stuff
Boden
Zara
B&M
Waitrose
Superdry

HermitsLife · 28/03/2021 09:32

Haven't brought from Next in years, I don't know how it stays open the quality had gone right down and I prefer Superdrug to Boots.

Joules, Boden, White Stuff and Fat Face don't appeal to me they just seem really expensive for what they are.

I probably mainly shop at the same places as you OP.

SeeYouInAnotherLife · 28/03/2021 09:32

I own things by Boden,, Whitestuff, Fat Face, Seasalt etc but I have never bought them new because I cannot afford it. Strictly charity shop finds/eBay purchases. About 95% of my wardrobe is second hand. Only underwear, socks and tights are bought new.

I rarely buy from Boots either as I can usually find what I need cheaper in B&M, Superdrug or Savers.

I will admit to being partial to a ready made M&S salad though.

helloyoutoo8 · 28/03/2021 09:33

customwatkins · 28/03/2021 09:34

This thread has made me realise I shop in all the shops Blush

captainprincess · 28/03/2021 09:34

You couldn't find anything in M&S? Do you not eat food? Maybe your local one doesn't have a food hall, but I don't think I've seen one that doesn't. Also do you not wear underwear? M&S is perfect for that.
I can't think of a shop I haven't bought anything from.
