I’ve read that council tax outside of London can be more expensive than inside, so I’m being nosy having just got my new bill.

I’ll start:
London, 3 bed terrace £1691.52 (or £169 over 10
Months)

Bloody extortionate imo!

£3924.97 Sad South Wales coast.
Bloody hell I had no idea how expensive ours is.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 26/03/2021 19:25

Well this is a wake up!!! Guess I can’t afford to leave London!

Three bed Semi in North Wales, £160 a month for 10 months a year.

x2boys · 26/03/2021 19:29

But Mortgage / Rent would be signicantly cheaper in some parts of the country ,it's not just council tax Its the cost of living as a whole you have to consider .

FedUpAtHomeTroels · 26/03/2021 19:30

Oh sorry it went up so it'll now be £172 a month.

BamboozledandBefuddled · 26/03/2021 19:31

Milton Keynes. One bedroom flat - Band A. £126/month over 10 months.

FoxyTheFox · 26/03/2021 19:33

Northumberland, three bed semi in Band A, £136 a month. DM is in Band D and hers is £176 a month.

MissMarks · 26/03/2021 19:35

230 a month, Belfast.
Scotland wins the prize for most expensive- my previous house was over 3k a year for a very average house.

Of course, I have a manageable mortgage though. It just struck me that my travel card and council tax means I spend near on £400 a month before paying for the roof over my head, heating or food!

3 bed semi in Yorkshire: 145 every month for 10 months.

bigbluebus · 26/03/2021 19:38

W. Midlands 5 bed detached house - £187pm x 10 payments. Our friends in the same village pay the same for a 3 bed bungalow. We're both band D.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 26/03/2021 19:38

Water inclusive is a new one on me, Thames water on a metre we pay for what we use at c. £500 a yr.
I do think water and electricity should all cost the same per unit under treating customers fairly - very strange all the diff charges and tariffs etc!
