Council Tax- how much is yours

I’ve read that council tax outside of London can be more expensive than inside, so I’m being nosy having just got my new bill.

I’ll start:
London, 3 bed terrace £1691.52 (or £169 over 10
Months)

Bloody extortionate imo!

Warwickshire 3 bedroom detached, £350 a month over 10 months.

South Wales Torfaen. £212 per month over 10 months. Plus £70 for water. 😩

Is that £70 a month for water???

2 bed semi west yorkshire £1400 per year

£139 for a Band B in Scotland. We will be moving to most likely a Band E this year and that will be a sore one!

3,600 for a year for 5 bed house. apparently we are second most expensive in the country. Hopefully the idea of using property value is going to be knocked on the head - we have pretty high values but very low incomes here - lots of people retire from london.

We missed a payment because I was in hospital and the joint acct was overdrawn. Got bumped to 415 per month for the remainder of the year. Horrendous

Mine is the exact same as yours op. Im in Ayrshire in South West Scotland. Two bed terraced house.

Band D 3 bed semi, in south east 20 mins outside London £140 per month for 10 months

£2319.98 per year. £231.99 for 10 months.

3 bed end terrace in Edinburgh.

South Hampshire. 2 bed flat band B.

£136 per year.

I pay over 10 months and pay £106 and get 25% single adult discount.

We need to know what band to be able to compare.

I'm band D Sussex. About £2400 pa

I'm just going to leave the Wandsworth CT rates here.....

Detached bungalow in Edinburgh. £2838 for the year but pay over 10 months so £283 a month.

Yep our green bin is £60 but since we have such a tiny garden next yr I won’t pay and will shove the odd bag of grass in with our usual rubbish!

North Wales £2200 - 4 bed detached.

I thought mine was bad until I seen £3000+.

3 bed detached in South Wales almost £2400.

3 bed house, Birmingham - £112 pm over 12 months

Based on reading this thread, I'm lucky, Midlothian, 3 bed semi (ex council) £104 a month (with my single adult discount)

Yorkshire. £3020 a year. Extortionate amount.

I'd pay £480 a year less for same in Wandsworth!

Actually I say that but my 2 bed flat band B May end up being a higher band in Wandsworth?

Suffolk. £2700 per year - band F. We’ve just moved - our band C or D was £1700 ish.

No street lights at all, we have to pay extra for a garden waste collection (extra £40 or 50/ year - very few people have no garden round here).
DD goes to the catchment secondary school - more than 3 miles away, but the council do NOT fund transport. That’s an extra £2 per day. We mostly car share.

The council area we live in is one of the wealthiest in the country! (Not surprised really).

6 bed semi detached house
£3040 per year (£304 per month) including local council, police charges, etc.

4 bed .Band G . £3280 pa

Band D 3 bed Semi in a Sussex Town, £2100 a year
