Insomniac roll call

I’ve had a grand total of sixty minutes sleep and I’m now wide awake. Anyone else still up? No doubt I’ll be starting to fall asleep as the dc wake up.

I'm up....can't sleep even though terribly tired. Think it's due to a bad day at work and too much coffee?

ismiseeire · 25/03/2021 02:37

Good afternoon!
My problem is that I'm on morning medication and night-time medication. When the fuck do I take them?

@Ilovenutellaaaaa that is my usual speciality so I’m mixing things up tonight having had some sleep.

Me too. What is it about... I've had a long day, prepared well for bedtime (no phones etc.) but bing... am wide awake. Do either of you have the odd night when you sleep soundly, and the rest you just don't sleep well? Here in my lounge sipping a Pukka nighttime tea to see if it does the trick...

Lofari · 25/03/2021 02:39

Wide awake here. Same every night.

Ugh. Same! Why?

@ismiseeire what did your doctors say about when to take them. If you’ve not had any guidance I’d go 10 pm and 9am or as soon as you wake up if you are still asleep then. I wouldn’t leave it any later than midday for the morning meds

@CandyLeBonBon because our bodies like to wreak havoc on us 😂

I’ve had issues with sleep since childhood. I’m eternally grateful that the dc are pretty good on the whole with their sleep

Wide awake here too as per usual. Haven’t even tried to go to sleep yet.
Last night it was about 5.30....

@Blurpblorp a good nights sleep is a rare occurrence for me. When it does happen I’m like wow this is how it’s meant to feel when I wake up.

I was so tired this afternoon I had to come back from work and have a 90 min nap at 4pm. Fell asleep again about 11.30 and woke up again at 2. I’m 7 weeks pregnant and this has been a struggle for the last 3 weeks, hoping it’s not permanent.

OysterMonkey · 25/03/2021 02:51

Thank you @Absolutelyscunnered.
Insomnia is a new thing for me. I’ve always been a fantastic sleeper up until the last 6 months. So this is quite something to have to deal with.
☕️ Pukka tea cheers to you all.

I've been insomniac since I was a teen really, with periods where I literally worked, partied, slept, worked. I would have been so tired, that I slept during the night.

I'm not working now, so I have no alarm waking me up, no commute, no work, no party, no home.
My body clock seems haywire. It doesn't seem to know what to be doing with itself. I also have pain, so taking codeine and other strong pain killers at times. They send me to sleep then during the day, so I'm up all night. It's tedious. I'm then asleep all day so can't get anything done as by the time I wake up, every office is shut and I've missed every call.

The best sleeps I ever had were in my first 3 months or so of pregnancy. I loved it! I could sleep! At the sight of anything horizontal lol.

It fades after the first 3 months and comes back in your last month of pregnancy. I had the best sleeps ever when pregnant.

Awake here since about 2am, I’m hoping I’ll drift off again before having to get up......

I’ve been an insomniac for years and years, in a bad phase at the moment. So frustrating!

MysweetAudrina · 25/03/2021 03:00

I was fast asleep and dh woke me to tell me to turn on my side as I was snoring. So now I'm awake and can't get back to sleep cause he is snoring. Just decamped to spare bed with weighted blanket so hopefully will catch some sleep soon.

Autumn, have you tried a thing called Sleep Aid from Wilkos? You can also buy similar (at extortionate prices) in a pharmacy - Nytol?

@MysweetAudrina do you think the weighted blanket helps?
OP posts:
MysweetAudrina · 25/03/2021 03:07

@Absolutelyscunnered yes I think it does, it can make my dreams more vivid though.

WhatElseCouldIWrite · 25/03/2021 03:08

Awake, in pain as usual.
Now helped by a super cute pupper. Just did a toilet run with pup, he's snoozing again and I'm trying to remember what meds I took and when 😂.
Weighted blanket helps me with my restless legs at times.

Hello fellow insomniacs. The full moon is nearly here I think. That always wakes me up. Need to get up and do a bit of howling at it. Lol. Sweet dreams everyone. To be fair faffing around on our phones isn't likely to help!
