Always speak with the spirits of a house before you buy it. Explain your intentions, reassure them you mean no harm, and tell them firmly to make any objections known right at that moment, because you don't expect to hear from them later.

DioneTheDiabolist · 23/03/2021 15:50

If going on to a television quiz show, revise South America and the Periodic Table.

Wendyhause · 23/03/2021 15:52

@FlibbertyGiblets

Never google Dragon Butter.
Oh my god!
Sugarygoodness · 23/03/2021 15:53

It's actually perfectly fine and healthy to go to bed 'on an argument'. A bit of space is far better than staying up fighting. I'd like to fucking wipe that useless piece of advice from the human conscious tbh.

In front of the estate agent? Blush

FirsAndFairylights · 23/03/2021 15:53

HeidiHoNeighbour · 23/03/2021 15:54

You're eating far too much. 1000 calories is enough for anyone.

HeidiHoNeighbour · 23/03/2021 15:56

I find if I talk out loud to spirits everywhere, people fuck off and leave me alone.

It’s great!

My biggest and best generic advice? Get life insurance and a will.

The piece of advice I wish I’d listened to first time round? Find a hairdresser you like and stick with them. I’ve spent hundreds over the years just trying hairdressers closer to where I live now and being unhappy instead of just driving the extra 20 minutes to stick with the one that knows my hair and style best!

VampireTheBuffetSlayer · 23/03/2021 15:56

It doesn't matter how nice the hand soap smells, you should never walk out of the bathroom smelling your fingers.

HeidiHoNeighbour · 23/03/2021 15:57

@merryhouse

I agree but only if you are under 4ft

Ffs curiosity killed the cat Confused

RickOShay · 23/03/2021 16:00

You can have amazing sex with someone, and it doesn’t mean you are spiritually connected.

HeidiHoNeighbour · 23/03/2021 16:00

@AtlasPine

Does that apply if the nuts are in the cake?

OP posts:
HeidiHoNeighbour · 23/03/2021 16:02

@RickOShay

Totally agree

Write the names of people in pencil on the reverse of very old photographs while there are still family alive who know who those people are.

My parents didn't do this, and now they're gone, I have a load of b/w photos of my ancestors I can't identify, and no-one to ask.

NoLeafClover · 23/03/2021 16:13

Carbolic soap is cheap as fuck and the absolute business

HeidiHoNeighbour · 23/03/2021 16:14

@expectopelargonium

I have the same with photos.
I suppose everyone just thinks they’ll always be someone to tell.
It’s sad that there isn’t.

When helping your children with their badge work for Rainbows/Beavers/Brownies/Cubs... Remember who has to see the blasted things onto the uniform.

NoLeafClover · 23/03/2021 16:16

Really good advice, expectopelargonium. I'd add, write down some family stories, recipes etc while you can. I mean by talking to older relatives. We lost so much family history with our grandparents, and I'll forever regret that.
