What flowers did you have at your wedding?

I’m hopeless and would like inspo We are getting married in late Spring (May/June time) but thought it be a nice thread to hear from those of you who got married in all seasons - flower threads make me happy

Late May, I had orchids, gerbera and roses

Cream roses and burgundy gerberas, with plenty of greenery in the bouquets

My DSis is a florist, so I gave her a budget and colour scheme and left her to it.

I had white avalanche roses, blue hydrangeas, thistles (for my Scottish husband) forget me nots in memory of my dad and eucalyptus. They were perfect!

August: lavender, sweet peas, roses and some green stuff I can't remember! It spent divine 🙂

Oh meant to say we got married in June. I also had some lizzianthus and tiny little daisies, and I think there's a delphinium in there too.

Mid June. I had a non floral bouquet but the groomsmen, bridesmaid and our Dads all had gypsophilia. I really wanted tulips but it was just after tulip season so compromised on these instead.

End of September, red and gold calla lilies

I had a hand tied bouquet of cream roses and my bridesmaid had cream And peach roses in hers.

Probably not popular on here but I had artificial flowers because I wanted raspberry pink! I had dyed roses with jewels and sparkles in, done to match my shoes. For button holes and corsages we had dyed roses in royal blue.
They were amazing!

June. Amnesia roses, palest pink peonies, tiny white rosebuds, gardenia, trailing ivy and green blackberries.

The blackberries were a last minute addition by the florist - she had no idea that blackberrying with my mother was one of my favourite childhood memories. My mother died not long before I met Dh. I burst into tears when I saw them - poor florist! She thought I hated them!

My flowers were absolutely one of my favourite things about our wedding.

I have no idea what the flowers are. I told the florist our colours and the vague shape I wanted, and she worked some magic. Slightly biased, but I do think they’re the prettiest wedding flowers ever.

July wedding, Constance Spry roses, lilac freesias, gypspholia, Ivy, sweet peas and pink 2mm wide trailing ribbons. A traditional wired shower bouquet.

These were on all the tables. Man I wish I’d taken more pics of the flowers they were gorgeous. My bouquet was runculas, tulips, closed bud roses and loads of other stuff in this colour scheme, tied with lace from my great-grandmas’s veil from 1927. I got a load of old vases from charity shops etc to use, they mismatched obviously but that was the point, and it looked lovely.

Had lots of succulents in pots that I then gave away as gifts.

Definitely went slightly over budget on flowers used a lady who did church flowers and was hoping to become a qualified florist, it was her first go so took a punt but it really paid off, and was obviously cheaper than it would have been to use a professional.

I got married in September and just asked the florist for Autumn colours. I don't know anything about flowers so don't know what they were in the main apart from there were yellow, red and orange roses and a couple of orangey brown lily type flowers. She put wheat and little acorns and conkers mixed in my bouquet too. It was lovely - I wish I'd had it preserved but I don't think it was commonly done then.

June wedding - absolutely adored my flowers and wish i could have kept them forever!

Red roses for my bouquet. Then for the reception (only had an evening reception) I brought loads of white orchids back from Singapore (I was cabin crew) and put them in vases on the tables.

Lisianthus, roses, lilies. In pink cream and purple.

Paper ones - I didn't want to spend much money on them, and artificial flowers meant I could arrange them and make a hoop for the little bridesmaid and decorations for the cake (which I also made)

December wedding and had long-stemmed red roses, gypsophila and trailing ivy.

May wedding and had artificial flowers! White bouquet for me, dark blue and white for the bridesmaids and flower girls. I still have them all, no regrets, I love that I have them as souvenirs

December wedding: proteas, cream and pale pink roses.

December in Sydney, so likelihood of hot weather. Although I love roses, we went for lisianthus as it looks so similar but lasts much better.

November I had cream roses & thistles.

May wedding and I had a simple hand-tied bouquet of white peonies. So pretty.
