People like mine generally but say that the shortened version is not a name.

It’s always been my name

Loads of threads with mine where the OP is like "I love this name but is it too old fashioned?" And the majority of people replying like it.

I like it too, but I go by a nickname.

My name is Irish and was described as 'Irish granny' (not in a good way). The Anglicised version seems to be universally disliked.

Mine isn’t on there anywhere. I may start a thread myself

I wish I hadn’t… I’ve always loved my name and am complimented on it more often than not if I introduce myself.

However it seems 99.9% of people here despise it. “Definitely not, no and NO NO NO!” have all been responses

I’m starting to wonder if people comment nicely on it when they meet me out of awkwardness!!
