What’s your favourite thing about staying in a hotel?

Reminiscing on various lovely hotel stays and thinking about how I can’t wait to stay in one again. I think what I long for most is a big rainfall shower with lovely smelling mini toiletries, then wrapping up in a big white towel and sitting down on the chair in the room to peruse the dinner menu...

What’s your favourite part? Lovely big bed with white bedding? Ordering room service? Getting a bit dressed up to go down to the bar and have a drink?

Please do share your favourite things so I can read through them and get ridiculously excited over the thought of a possible stay in a lovely hotel later this year!

Honestly, it reminds me of 'playing house' when I was a child, I really enjoy it!

I love the sheer laziness of it , and coming back to the room after lunch to find a made bed , clean bathroom and fresh towels

I know loads of people who love to stay in hotels, but I never have. Although, room service is ace, I must admit.

Breakfast

Not having to do any housework. Bliss.

I enjoy the fact that they are some where else. The hotel itself isn't very important we usually spend as little time as possible in them.
I used to enjoy a travelodge breakfast, with the conveyer belt of toast.

Someone else tidying up after me! Closely followed by the bar and the inability for me to do any cooking even if I wanted to

Have aimed to reproduce as much of the fine hotel experience as possible at home, so

Are all part of my life!

When I'm actually in a hotel, I love the bed linen and towels being changed daily, and I'm a sucker for a bit of towel sculpture!

As soon as I check in I run a bath and open a bottle of wine (champagne if it’s a special occasion). I love lounging around in the hotel robe.

But my favourite part is reading all of the hotel ‘bumff’ - spa menus, room service menues etc. If it’s a very old building I love it if there’s a leather folder telling the story of the building, who built it etc.

I like a nice stylish but relaxed hotel lounge with a fire and all the papers and the cushions plumped just so

I always wanna have sex in hotels.. DH doesn't complain

I love how immaculately tidy it all is when you arrive! (My room is never like that)

Also - the ability to shut the door and relax, knowing that there is nothing you need to do. At home, there is always a nagging mental list of jobs I should be getting on with.

Breakfast, also that lovely feeling of slipping into the crisp sheets hoping the bed will be blissfully comfortable and finding that, yes it is! Lying watching the TV with a last glass of wine playing with the light switches to get the perfect glow. God, I love hotels. Ooh and a late drink in the bar after a show or night out, possibly making light small talk with another guest/s about where you've been and why you're there.

Crisp white bed linen and being able to go from bar to room without having to go outside. I like the breakfasts too. But in general I prefer a self-catering holiday.

I also love running a bath (there's never enough hot water at home for a proper full steaming hot bath) and day time prosecco and sex!

I love it when they have the turn down service and when you come back from dinner the bed is turned down ready to snuggle into with a couple of little chocolate sat there for you 🤣😍
