What’s your favourite thing about staying in a hotel?

Reminiscing on various lovely hotel stays and thinking about how I can’t wait to stay in one again. I think what I long for most is a big rainfall shower with lovely smelling mini toiletries, then wrapping up in a big white towel and sitting down on the chair in the room to peruse the dinner menu...

What’s your favourite part? Lovely big bed with white bedding? Ordering room service? Getting a bit dressed up to go down to the bar and have a drink?

Please do share your favourite things so I can read through them and get ridiculously excited over the thought of a possible stay in a lovely hotel later this year!

Breakfast for me too.

I just love the fact that there's no housework to do. When I'm at home I can't always relax because I'm thinking I should be washing, ironing, cooking etc. In a hotel I don't have anything to do!

We have no tv upstairs at home and kids who are early risers so I love in a hotel putting milkshake on and dozing while they eat snacks we’ve bought. Then I love a hotel breakfast

The buffet breakfast. God they are my favourite thing! The first course, but if fruit and coffee. Second course, big fry. Third course, mini pastries and more coffee. Was at a wedding just before lockdown and they had a PANCAKE MAKING MACHINE! Just press a button and fresh pancake popped out.

Will the buffet ever come back do you think?

Being in a hotel means I'm not at home so that's great.

We stayed in a gorgeous hotel for our 1st wedding anniversary. There was a massive roll top bath in the middle of the room. So we both lay in it and watched TV for hours.

Breakfast is always good. 😋

Spa treatments

Drinks being bought to me in the evening in front of a roaring log fire (or on a balcony overlooking water in the summer)

Fresh bedding without having to do laundry or make the bed.

Opening the curtains early in the morning and seeing a completely new town/view.

Not cooking or having to think about what we are going to eat that day...I have been doing this for over 30 yrs and it gets a bit monotonous...

Normally its the night before an holiday in a airport hotel so the excitement of an adventure starting or actually on holiday the really tierd feeling after a days exploring getting into bed and drifting off I love being exhausted when I go to bed.

Sleeping in a bed! I haven’t slept in a bed for 6 years except when I’ve been to hotels. Love them.

A cooked breakfast- can't beat it

Having a cocktail in the swanky hotel bar before going out at night. And balconies, especially if it has a view of a city skyline. It makes me feel glamorous!

I absolutely love coming back to a lovely cleaned room with fresh towels and knowing I don’t have to do a jot of cleaning or cooking, bliss!

I'm really fucking nosey so being in new places satisfies that. Love going round having a look, seeing what's what 🤣

I'm not fancy, white sheets, purple walls, TV and all you can eat breakfast....... oh Premier Inn I miss you so much.

Best thing ever was a hotel where they picked up my husbands running socks, took them away to launder and then returned them later that day beautifully held together in a paper wrapping.

Having breakfast made and cleared away after you has got tobe the biggest bonus for me. However I've worked in a few hotels in the past so I'm hyper critical of everything, not that I can't enjoy it, I just notice all the ways they do things wherever I'm staying.

I really miss hotels

The big fluffy towels
The towelling bath robes
The extra pillows and blankets in the cupboard
The super comfortable bed
The hotel shop selling lots of swanky jewellery and over the top beach swimwear and cover ups
The view from the balcony of any of the following the sea, mountains, cathedrals, the town square, the market......... The best views are from corner rooms so you have two lots of views to enjoy :)
