That's it really. I am (idly) wondering what I'll have, and there seem to be so many great choices - and some terrible ones

It was 20 years ago but we had lone star amazed and then Aerosmith don’t wanna miss a thing

FedNlanders · 24/02/2021 18:01

Did not have a reception

Marmite27 · 24/02/2021 18:10

First dance, Lover of the Light by Mumford and sons.
Second dance, good thing by Reel Big Fish
Penultimate dance, good riddance by green day
Last dance, young by FUN as a tribute to the many attendees we’d carried home after a good night out!

Down the aisle, the lumineers, heigh ho.

Married before evening receptions were a thing. Wedding and reception and everything over by mid afternoon!

NeedWineNow · 24/02/2021 18:18

A friend of mine, who's been married twice, said she'd have 'Here we are Again' Grin

Kottbullar · 24/02/2021 18:29

Walked down the aisle to the instrumental from Bitter Sweet Symphony
Danced back up to SL2 On A Ragga Tip

First dance was a medley of You Never Can Tell Chuck Berry
(I was a teenager Grin)
Pulp Something Changed
The Prodigy Your Love

MotherofPearl · 24/02/2021 18:31

That's inspired @Doublechins! I'm not married but DP and I sometimes jokingly plan what our wedding would be like, and I'm pretty sure the Hokey Cokey would be our perfect first dance!

I love joining in dances. A Celidh wedding would be fun.

Real Love by The Beatles - DH loves The Beatles and I love the lyric
"Seems like all I really was doing
Was waiting for you"

My husband and I own a photography business and we do a lot of weddings.

Because we live in Texas, we hear a lot of country music songs as first songs. The current favorite is: "With You, I Am" by Cody Johnson.

Alicia Keys - if I ain’t got you

Married 17 years. We had "It started with a kiss" by hot Chocolate..........picked as it was an in joke between us

LovesToBeInFrontOfTheCamera · 24/02/2021 21:06

I walked down the aisle to "Let's get married" by the Proclaimers
We walked back together to Stevie Wonder "Signed, sealed, delivered"
First dance was "The First time ever I saw your face" - the Stereophonics version, followed by Louis Armstrong "What a wonderful world"
Happy memories!!

KeeOe · 24/02/2021 21:10

'Baby, I love you' by the Ramones. What a fucking lie that was Grin

KeeOe · 24/02/2021 21:11

On his part I hasten to add...

starlightloz · 24/02/2021 22:07

Breathe In and Breathe Out by Matt Kearney. It's from the Grey's Anatomy soundtrack and it's ever so beautiful.

CaptainMyCaptain · 24/02/2021 22:08

What a difference a day makes

Angelmonkey · 24/02/2021 22:34

Moon River

WitchWife · 24/02/2021 22:35

@Kpo58

I had Eternal Flame as my first dance.

I vetoed Your Beautiful by Blunt

Good decision!

I love these, the variety. I love that Leonard line too but sadly DP thinks LC is too gloomy.

Kodaline "The one"
Our band learnt the song so we could dance to it

biscuitcat · 24/02/2021 22:44

We had Country Roads by John Denver - a song we both love. The band played it again as their last song and it was such a fun way to finish the night!
