That's it really. I am (idly) wondering what I'll have, and there seem to be so many great choices - and some terrible ones

I've Got You Under My Skin by Frank Sinatra.

My mum said it sounded like a song about a skin condition 😂

We also had I Do, I Do, I Do by Abba.

Pootles34 · 24/02/2021 14:30

We had 'How Glad I am' - Aretha Franklin. My advice is to make a shortlist, then try dancing to them all. We whittled 15 songs down to 3 this way - and then chose the shortest!

@supersonicginandtonic

We're having slide away by Oasis when we get married next year.
We nearly chose this one! But Songbird reminded us of when we got back together! We had half Bon Jovi born to be my baby and half Songbird by Oasis! We had everyone up to dance after 30 seconds! As we felt stupid! 🤣🤣
NeedWineNow · 24/02/2021 14:34

Let it be Me by the Everley Brothers.

I wanted Who's Sorry Now just to see my mum's faceGrin

AliasGrape · 24/02/2021 14:35

This Years Love by David Gray , special song for us.

lifeinlimbo2020 · 24/02/2021 14:36

I believe in a thing called love by the darkness. 🤣🤣

Metallicalover · 24/02/2021 14:36

I don't know why it said when we got back together! 🤣
It should have said when we got together x

LR33 · 24/02/2021 14:37

Amazed by Lonestar

oohmyback · 24/02/2021 14:37

Imagine by John Lennon.

MrsElijahMikaelson1 · 24/02/2021 14:38

Barry White-my first, my last, my everything! DH would never have gone for a slow dance!

Jojoanna · 24/02/2021 14:39

I wanted follow you follow me but the DJ put 3 times a lady on instead 🤷‍♀️

tinselvestsparklepants · 24/02/2021 14:39

Bring Me Sunshine, Morcambe and Wise. It wasn't officially a first dance but it's the one where we made sure we danced together IYSWIM. The words are perfect, and it was also a favourite of my Nan.

oohmyback · 24/02/2021 14:40

I walked down the aisle to there she goes by the Las and signing of register was free Bird by lynyrd skynyrd. Walked back uk the aisle to white wedding by Billy idol.

xsamix86 · 24/02/2021 14:45

We're not having a first dance, but 'our song' is You Are The Reason - Callum Scott and Leona Lewis, and at some point we are having Alien Like You by the Pigott Brothers and the Kina Grannis version of Cant Help Falling in Love in the wedding ceremony.

youmakemydreamscometrue · 24/02/2021 14:46

Hall and Oates you make my dreams come true.

We were struggling to agree on something and didn't want anything slow and smoochy then we heard it on Ant and Dec's Saturday night takeaway and decided straight away!

Afromeg · 24/02/2021 14:50

We invited everyone to dance as we didn't want people just watching.

Two of our favourite songs:

  1. After all is said and done by Beyonce and Marc Nelson.
  1. I was made to love you by Gerard Levert

Been nearly 9 years and still moves my heart to this day.

Afromeg · 24/02/2021 14:53

For the real hot-stepping afterwards, we went full on African music and some worldwide classic ones.

WitchWife · 24/02/2021 14:59

@BaconAndAvocado

I've Got You Under My Skin by Frank Sinatra.

My mum said it sounded like a song about a skin condition 😂

We also had I Do, I Do, I Do by Abba.

That's the sort of thing my mum would say Smile

That's a great tip about making a short list and dancing to them all!

In normal times I think I'd just say sod it and have some kind of barn dance so everyone has to join in.

Nobody Does it better - Carly Simon 😂

im5050 · 24/02/2021 15:02

I really wanted Sting Every Breath You take until I realised it’s not really a love song but a song about stalking and violence 😂

Ohwhatbliss · 24/02/2021 15:04

We had Drops of Jupiter by Train, not a love song as such but "our song" and the meaning resonated with us on our wedding day

Joolsin · 24/02/2021 15:05

Waltz in Black by The Stranglers

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 24/02/2021 15:05

Have I Told You Lately - Van Morrison

Rafflesway · 24/02/2021 15:05

Definitely didn't have one!

To say DH is not a dancer would be a gross understatement. 🙄 🤣

I don't even remember them being a thing 40 years ago.
