Paul Nicholls - I'm so sad for him.

Posting on AIBU for traffic.

I saw a picture of Paul Nicholls the actor in the paper recently and I've never felt so heart broken for a celebrity before.

As an actor he is 'hit and miss' for me.
I liked him in Earthfast and The Biz when I was a kid and he was a kid.
Found him a bit irritating in EastEnders but I guess that was his character.
Didn't like him at all in most of what he has done to be honest.

However, seeing him in his recent pictures looking so thin and frail almost made me cry.

People were commenting on him being a drink and drugs fiend, no sympathy for him at all.

He's been in showbiz since he was 10 years old or something, he's probably never had any real friends. A few years ago the press were full of praise for him, women drooling all over him.

Now when he seems to have lost the battle to drink or drugs or is recovering from them as well as his horrific accident in Thailand, he has become an object of ridicule :(

I bet he had lots of 'friends' when he had money and acting work. Wonder where all those people are now?!

The woman he is with is being called all sorts of names for being with him, like he doesn't deserve somebody to love him.

The acting industry and the BBC / EastEnders have failed this guy. Yes, he has a responsibility for his own actions, but when you've been hooked on substances from a young age it must be hell to break away from.

It makes me sick that people like him are splattered all over posters and TV but once they are on the decline nothing is ever done to help them.

PN has lost his looks, his nose looks like it has collapsed, he'll never get the TV work he once did and now he isn't even allowed to live a peaceful life with a woman!

I hate the gutter press.

Contact Paul Nicholas and suggest he does an agressive paparazzi publicity blitz to reinforce that he is not a drug user/isnt sofa surfing/ and still has twinkle in his eye ? No matter if he’s not quite living the home life of our own dear Queen (6 by 4?) think he may want to distance himself a bit given the confusions.

People should learn to read.
I quite clearly spelt the name properly and listed enough credentials for people to have known which one it was.

op you did indeed trouble is I immediately thought of Paul Nicholas and last time I saw him he was quite merrily bumbling around India -kochi island I think- and seemed really well so it was just a bit startling to read of drugs and alcohol and sofas and noses and waterfalls and lap dancers etc etc.
It occurred to me PN-as must get this all the time and indeed PNolls too.
He looks rougher but not as bad as I feared when I read your lost. I loathe the daily Mail.

I had no idea what happened to him but remember he was a heart throb, hadn't really thought about him until this thread. Agree he's a far cry from how he used to appear. But the most horrific thing was reading about his fall down the waterfall and lying there for 3 days with 2 broken legs. Jeez. Poor guy. 😬

If this is true - poor Paul Nicholls (the young one).
I guess the ex is referring to himself as the father that is being denied access to the child.

Noooo. He was gorgeous. Annoying character though.
Probably the only time EastEnders has had good looking blokes on - hopefully Dan is faring better than PN.
Also, the girl that plays PN's girlfriend is so pretty.

I only watch half an hour during my lunch break.
I have insomnia at the moment that's why I'm on this.
I'll have to make a special effort to watch a full episode and catch his name.
However, I quite like the idea of him in my head. 20 odd years on, I doubt he'll be fanciable in the same way.
