Paul Nicholls - I'm so sad for him.

Posting on AIBU for traffic.

I saw a picture of Paul Nicholls the actor in the paper recently and I've never felt so heart broken for a celebrity before.

As an actor he is 'hit and miss' for me.
I liked him in Earthfast and The Biz when I was a kid and he was a kid.
Found him a bit irritating in EastEnders but I guess that was his character.
Didn't like him at all in most of what he has done to be honest.

However, seeing him in his recent pictures looking so thin and frail almost made me cry.

People were commenting on him being a drink and drugs fiend, no sympathy for him at all.

He's been in showbiz since he was 10 years old or something, he's probably never had any real friends. A few years ago the press were full of praise for him, women drooling all over him.

Now when he seems to have lost the battle to drink or drugs or is recovering from them as well as his horrific accident in Thailand, he has become an object of ridicule :(

I bet he had lots of 'friends' when he had money and acting work. Wonder where all those people are now?!

The woman he is with is being called all sorts of names for being with him, like he doesn't deserve somebody to love him.

The acting industry and the BBC / EastEnders have failed this guy. Yes, he has a responsibility for his own actions, but when you've been hooked on substances from a young age it must be hell to break away from.

It makes me sick that people like him are splattered all over posters and TV but once they are on the decline nothing is ever done to help them.

PN has lost his looks, his nose looks like it has collapsed, he'll never get the TV work he once did and now he isn't even allowed to live a peaceful life with a woman!

I hate the gutter press.

Never heard of him and dont know who he is but its sad if he's fallen on hard times, wouldn't wish it on anyone. Saw Danielle Westbrook on TV the other day. Another casualty. She was unrecognisable from the woman she once was.

I saw him walking along Loughton High Street a few years back - he looked fit then.

Just googled him for current info - apparently his real name is Gerard Paul Greenhalgh. He should have kept that name to avoid being mistaken for the guy in Just Good Friends, although he really doesn't look like a Gerard.

Fun fact I was on the same theatre tech course as one of his sons at theatre school in the early 90s. He was the intake below me so only knew him in passing.

Dave Allen's daughter and Ronnie Corbett's daughters were there too.

And the actress who was in Red Dwarf, the blonde one.

Oh, and Nick Moran was an utter dick to me once on a student production.

You could watch an episode with him in it then look out for the credits to see the actor's name.

I only watch half an hour during my lunch break.
I have insomnia at the moment that's why I'm on this.
I'll have to make a special effort to watch a full episode and catch his name.
However, I quite like the idea of him in my head. 20 odd years on, I doubt he'll be fanciable in the same way.

Noooo. He was gorgeous. Annoying character though.
Probably the only time EastEnders has had good looking blokes on - hopefully Dan is faring better than PN.
Also, the girl that plays PN's girlfriend is so pretty.

This is weird I've been watching old EastEnders with him in it- have never seen him before or heard of him- and was thinking how much my preteen self would have had a crush on him and was wondering what he looked like now and if he would still be someone I would crush on at this age. He was ok looking even about 3 years ago, shocking what has happened in such a small amount of time.

I googled the girlfriend he just broke up with and there’s a rather interesting piece about her written by, I assume, Paul Nicholls’ ex best friend on the expose cheaters online website.

If this is true - poor Paul Nicholls (the young one).
I guess the ex is referring to himself as the father that is being denied access to the child.
