@TheLaughingGenome

It's certainly set Piers Morgan off ...
I do hope it hasn't inspired him to share a photo of his feet. I don't think I could cope.
cabbagevan · 15/02/2021 15:01

@Kinsters

Also I didn't know until now that Zara Tindall was expecting again! Saw it mentioned at the bottom of an article about Harry and Megan's baby.
I wonder why threads don't get started about other royal pregnancies in the same way that ones about H&M do?
rosetylersbiggun · 15/02/2021 15:04

It's hilarious how the haters have spent the past three years screeching in outrage every time Meghan was in the press that Meghan is only a minor royal (back when she was a working royal) and therefore should receive zero media coverage because she's so very very minor and unimportant.

And now they're all tantrumming that Eugenie - who is by any stretch of the imagination a much more minor royal - isn't getting the entire week of uninterrupted spotlight they feel her status entitles her to.

Good luck to them, it’s lovely news. Some of the posts on Twitter in reaction to this have been utterly vile. Hopefully she’ll be able to enjoy this pregnancy without columns all devoted (negatively) to how much she’s touching her bump. If she hid her pregnancy until the last minute she’d probably be criticised for that too.

newlabelwriter · 15/02/2021 15:07

And on the whole it is her that is criticised and not him. I still am bewildered by people who think she’s in some way bewitched Harry and everything that’s happened to them is down to her 🙄

Lampzade · 15/02/2021 15:10

Their detractors are obsessed with them.
They hate themselves for being obsessed but they can’t help it.
Eugenie and Zara are lovely, but they are just not of interest to many and therefore don’t attract the same level of attention.
Whatever Meghan and Harry do attracts attention

Mockolate · 15/02/2021 15:19

@EllasAuntie

Completely mixed messages from these two. On the one hand they press charges for invasion of privacy, on the other they publish a clearly stylised shot of them. All it needed was a worded announcement.

I feel so sorry for Harry because it's as if he's being swept along in this melee where everything that is done puts him in the firing line for criticism. I just don't think he 'sees' it all like most people do. He's lost his judgement.

How is it mixed messages? They press charges for invasion of privacy, such as publishing private letters, this is announcing a pregnancy at their own pace, and on their terms. I mean, when they have the baby, it's going to come out in the press anyway as they're famous. This way they get to do it their way instead of being hounded. Why feel sorry for Harry, why has he lost his judgement? I think he's bloody clear headed and sensible, and so is she - that they moved away from the shitshow that is the British paparazzi. Oh and congratulations to them both, they both look happy.
AKissAndASmile · 15/02/2021 15:37

@catinbootsx

Why would an 18 year old lad be remotely interested in Mumsnet or any of the crap that we talk about?
The haters are so pathetic 😂

Oh yes, and deep down they are desperate for the marriage to implode in spectacular fashion, so Harry looking as happy as a pig in muck, and another baby on the way has been a trigger for them, because this couple are happy and living their best life. Not what they wanted or expected. (not everyone who isn't keen on them of course... just the hardened detractors)

Of course, they wouldn't admit that, but I've seen it on here in the past and other SM... lots of posts saying 'just wait till Harry gets fed up'. 'Harry will soon realise he's been duped'. 'I give it another year and he'll come crawling back to the RF'. 'I wonder if MM will let him see Archie when they split up blah blah' . Not if. When.

So this picture of total joy and happiness has really upset some.

Campervan69 · 15/02/2021 15:46

Lovely news for them. I miss my little ones being little. Happiest days of my life.

SenecaFallsRedux · 15/02/2021 17:01

Happy news, especially after pregnancy loss.

And about citizenship: Archie is also an American. Both children are automatically American because one of their parents is.

Yes. Under US law both Archie and his sibling when born have birthright US citizenship, which means that once they reach the age of 35, assuming they have not renounced their US citizenship (as I believe Boris did), they would meet the qualifications to be President.

It is, very much so.
eternalopt · 15/02/2021 18:08

So the only one without us citizenship currently is Harry! Although I'm sure he'll go for it as soon as he can if he listens to Mumsnet advice about the potential problems that could cause in the future!!

Mockolate · 15/02/2021 18:10

I know Sad
It's what's finally motivated me to stop following him lol.
He sometimes tweets sense such as about coronavirus for example, but I honestly do not understand what his problem is with Meghan.
He comes across as utterly obsessed.
He's forever going on about her, and never anything nice to say, even when she's not doing anything Confused

OhWhyNot · 15/02/2021 18:46

Becuase they are not so high profile.

And they haven’t had racism to deal with and media bullying to such a extent that they felt the best thing for them to do is leave the country

So many people are sympathetic and having seen Harry grow up feel a warmth to him (and I sympathise and like Megan too)

Dressinggowned · 15/02/2021 18:49

Piers is just very salty that she stopped talking to him, which is fine for him to feel on a personal level, but its really pathetic to write column after boring column about how terrible they both are- he needs to get over it.

I am a bit freaked out by Harrys feet because feet are grim, but Meghan looks stunning and it's a sweet photo.

OhWhyNot · 15/02/2021 18:53

Piers also gets lots of support when he writes yet another scathing bullying article

Many people do not like non white blood line being in the royal family they will twist themselves in knots to claim that isn’t the case by claiming they know she is manipulative and Harry is unhappy and are just looking out for him Hmm

Andylion · 15/02/2021 18:57

They had to announce it given the baby is 8th or something in succession. So obviously those that care about the Monarchy would think it was bad form and awful not to announce this.

They didn't need a professional photographer to take a pic, though.

cansu · 15/02/2021 19:00

The photo is utterly ridiculous. For people who profess to want their privacy, this kind of posed nonsense does them no favours. It could be announced without this sort of cringe worthy social media rubbish.

Mockolate · 15/02/2021 19:01

@AndyLion
They didn't need a professional photographer to take a pic, though

Their long time friend who is a photographer took it.
Not seeing anything wrong with getting a friend to do it for them, so presumably someone they like and trust.

They didn't. It was a good friend who took the pic. Yes, he was a photographer but he was more importantly a long time friend of theirs who'd been at the wedding and was keen to take this pic. Sounds normal to me.

I stand by my point. Having a photo shoot was unnecessary, regardless of their relationship to the photographer.

LetMeBubble · 15/02/2021 19:07

It’s fascinating how many people think that they should either be allowed to scrutinise others in such a controlling way or the alternative is for others to shut themselves away from the world and dissolve into non existence.

Almost like how some people feel threatened when people they can’t control make their existence known.

And they they don’t need their permission for it because they’re equally entitled for a space on this planet as everyone else..

Almost as if Meghan needs permission from her superior masters before she steps any foot anywhere else she is vilified..

Hope they keep agitating the crap out of the covert racism in this society until it implodes into oblivion.

Go Harry and Meghan! You are actually worth my taxes because you are teaching society something useful about diversity.
