@PretendSpeedGun

He was great on the James Corden show, he came across really well I thought very down to earth and likeable. He should do more stuff like that.
Harry says "my life is always going to be about public service...." yeah as long as I get paid a few millions for it. Grin

The problem here is their definition of public service it seems...

James Corden was fun as always though - I agree Harry looks like a normal bloke but would not pay millions to watch him regularly. Anyways Netflix have said they have big flex in the contract. Good luck to them all

@BettysButtons

As he said, he never ‘left’ the Royal family. He seems quite battered by it all and he f’king hates the tabloids. I don’t blame him.
He left "the Firm".

If someone really hates something, they go far away from it if they can.

Hesitating about posting this, as this is the I love H&M thread. Will post anyway, and then post no more on this thread probably! Grin

By hating something, I meant the tabloids.

It’s just a huge bloody mess and there’s no end of the shenanigans in sight.

BettysButtons · 26/02/2021 14:07

Just watched it again! He is lovely! He escaped the toxic British press not his family! He is also very fit!

Coronateachingagain · 26/02/2021 14:11

@bettysbuttons yes that will be the line, very convenient, and avoids conflict with the family. Except leaving the Firm and public service would not be the only way to deal with these issues, and I would be careful to buy it as the will still want to be using the press to promote their business.

Meghan is a lucky woman. Harry seems like a lovely man. Good luck to them.

\you are kidding right? this thread is full of the normal "oh I don't like them" posts. hardly a love them thread.

Roussette · 26/02/2021 15:17

@Samcro I think that opinion has changed and there are far more posters who are either indifferent to them, or think they're OK or actually like them. So the threads full of those who really cannot stand them like it used to be, are history. Hopefully. It's a bit more 50/50 now.

I noticed that on Twitter too. Far more positivity around them and what they're now doing.

Samcro · 26/02/2021 15:19

@Roussette you have a point. I suppose it reminds me of those old threads.

Roussette · 26/02/2021 15:21

Oh god yes! Some of it certainly does!

PretendSpeedGun · 26/02/2021 15:21

Have to wonder what Netflix think though - as so far James Corden and Oprah seem to have bagged the interviews. How many interviews of this nature can you do?

He comes across best when he is being playful and light hearted. Much better than the zoom hostage like talks to camera on serious matters.

I think he is probably struggling to find his new role. He seems to continue to want to be 'Prince Harry' but outside of the Royal Family.

I think he would do well with a Netflix TV series where he partners with someone interesting each episode - joining with them hands-on in their line of work/charity etc. Keep it light.

Roussette · 26/02/2021 15:45

I agree Pretend
He did come across as fun and lighthearted and it suited him. JC is a big personality and I imagine it's not easy being his sidekick

@Cacacoisfarraige that is true. I remember a photo of him and Kate laughing together at some event.

Roussette · 26/02/2021 17:19

Yes, Harry has got his mojo back

Anne1958 · 26/02/2021 17:40

I felt saddened by the video and felt that there was an element of flatness about him and faking it till you make it/putting on a good show.

Mummy195 · 26/02/2021 19:05

Ofcourse he's light hearted again, the RRs are not there to slag off his wife for now reason.

Coronateachingagain · 26/02/2021 19:07

@Anne1958 I agree. Flat and good company but can't see much else. The benefit of the royal halo is gone too. I sincerely think he does not have much to say, nor I expect him to have anything relevant to say really. This thing about pretending to still be doing everything in the name of public service baffles me. Just for a few million dollars, I will carry on with life of "public service" (chat show or whatever that is). Ill advised, woolly headed at best.

Coronateachingagain · 26/02/2021 19:08

and forgot to say, a convenient thing to blame the press for his decisions. That is an elegant way out

Roussette · 26/02/2021 19:36

^^ This.

A weight gone.

Samcro · 26/02/2021 19:55

I couldn't comment on the bus thing earlier as I hadn't seen any of it.
From what i saw on the news he came across very relaxed and happy.
Was nice to see.

It always astounds me that the 'I hate the rich and famous' brigade go on and on about them being paid for it. Well, DUH! What are you suggesting, they work for free?

People in public service; like politicians, those in the armed forces etc all get PAID. They serve the public, and they get PAID for it! They don't work for free. Why should Harry and Meghan?

Inkanta · 27/02/2021 07:42

It's a treat to see Harry have the courage to be himself, see that relaxed face, know that he's safe, and listen to his truth. He didn't run away from the royal family, he had to step aside to protect his family from the toxic British press and to get some peace. His issue is with the British press, not the Royal Family. He does right to call them out.
