It's a absolutely disgrace that people are so foul on a thread about a pregnancy announcement. She's done nothing wrong with the photo - in fact do you think Harry has no say in this? Everything is always Meghan's fault. Stylised photos are the norm - Eugenie did it too but she's not come in for any kind of shit.

SoupDragon · 15/02/2021 10:42

@Roussette

31 why don't you start a thread then about all this nefarious stuff they are supposedly doing? I could answer you on it, but to be honest, this is a thread entitled H&M are having a second child to which the only answer is... 'Great, congratulations'
Probably because it could be considered libellous/defamation and they have a better legal team and much more money.
Roussette · 15/02/2021 10:43

Yes Samcro and why two previous threads on them having a second baby have been deleted.
There are reasons for that...

Eugenie hasn't made a big show of wanting privacy.

Roussette · 15/02/2021 10:43

What... so they read MN and are going to sue posters? I'm a bit lost here.

HmmSureJan · 15/02/2021 10:46

no single member of the RF has ever made a baby announcement like this (with stylised Hollywood type photo)

Most down to earth celebs don't either. Only the likes of certain members of the Kardashians and other reality types.

Wish them well though.

Cokie3 · 15/02/2021 10:47

@31RooCambon You're WRONG.

Confused All Rousette said was some people, she didn't say you in particular, so how is she wrong?
Your posts are quite emotional and forceful on this so I say she is quite right, where you are concerned. Funny, you get all het up over things that aren't issues (ie settling things in court - which is, after all, what courts are designed for), yet tell others who are merely defending them, to calm down. How about you calm down, and stop looking for petty, silly and trivial things to attack them over, or tabloid lies ie their charity.

I have yet to see one valid, rational reason why they are criticised. Not even one. It's all tabloid lies (charity) or petty nitpicking (recourse to court to seek some justice for themselves) and exaggeration (they lecture us a lot, when I've seen them comment on the environment precisely twice).

Just once I'd like an actual valid, rational reason why they are criticised. Just once.

Because I never asked for this ridiculous situation where my answering a question lead to my posts being deleted! I was completely shocked by the knee jerk deletions. Based only on the post being reported clearly.

I supposed I could start a thread about their charity but i'm not sure I can be arsed. It'll come out though. I can't be bothered doing that because contrary to what you seem to think, I do not hate them. I'm not champing at the bit to post negative things about them.
But when mumsnet delete my posts that do not breach any of their guidelines, that does piss me off because they have become holy grails now.

They did put up with a lot of nonsense, I would have defended them in the past when there were accusations about faked pregnancies and the like. But now it's gone 360 you can't even answer somebody's question why do they come in for criticism.

They need better advice. Or maybe they just don't care.

Anyway, I'm out now because this is RIDICULOUS

31RooCambon · 15/02/2021 10:50

@Cokie3 YEH, good point. I was defensive. AS though I personally had been accused of writing horrible things.
I suspected rousseau of reporting my post. Who knows. Who cares.

Argh. These fucking H&M threads.

morninglive · 15/02/2021 10:52

This announcement is all about promoting their brand as they need to make a living and being SM stars is what it is all about. I don't understand they're professed desire to be out of the public eye, but needing to be there to pay for their lifestyle.

Not a royalist so the whole thing leaves me cold.

Tullyjune · 15/02/2021 10:52

@BiggerBoat1

Eugenie hasn't made a big show of wanting privacy.
Eugenie doesn’t need to because she is a minor royal who isn’t hounded by the media in the same way Harry has been. Her mother also was chased to her death by paparazzi, he may well want to protect his wife and children.
Cokie3 · 15/02/2021 10:53

@BiggerBoat1 Wanting one's privacy respected doesn't mean they can't share with us what they want to share. As someone elsewhere in the thread said, doesn't the word consent mean anything to you? You seem confused in that you think that wanting privacy means they won't be in the limelight. It means no such thing. It means you give of yourself what YOU want to give. It doesn't mean they hide away and we never see them again.

Tullyjune · 15/02/2021 10:53

*wasn’t chased

Roussette · 15/02/2021 10:55

" suspected rousseau of reporting my post. Who knows. Who cares"

You can just take a hike with that accusation. NO. I did not. I would rather posts are left attached to a name for all to see. Than deleted. Let the poster stand by what they say.

Cokie3 · 15/02/2021 10:56

@BiggerBoat1 So because Eugenie hasn't stood up for herself and drew a line in the sand about what she will consent to, that means Meghan is fair game, because she DARED to stand up and draw a line?

Confused

Women are our own worst enemy. Hmm

calamityismymiddlename · 15/02/2021 10:57

meh, they just seem very attention seeking to me for people who wanted their privacy.

My personal thoughts are for anyone to get pregnant in a pandemic with the world as it is are absolute foolsConfused

Crazy

Well they want it all entirely on their own times which is fine, I want my life on my own terms too and don't really do anything much I don't want to because I got sick of people pleasing. However if you want to make your money out of having a high profile then with that comes criticism and perhaps unpalatable observations on your grifting style. I'm no MM but one thing I note is that people to get very angry if you don't adhere to The Rules of whatever situation you're in that they think you should.
OliverBabish · 15/02/2021 10:58

It’s lovely news. Congratulations to them.

Cokie3 · 15/02/2021 10:59

@Roussette

I know some people feel very passionate in their defense of MM and H though

And on the other side of the coin,
I know some people feel very passionate in their dislike of MM and H though

I was thinking the exact same thing. The gaslighting that goes on from Meghan's detractors is all too hypocritical. They tie themselves up in knots looking for something anything to pick at her over, no matter how immature or trivial, then when someone comes on and defends them, the person doing the defending is the one told to 'calm down', often by the one who had to almost invent something to pick at her about. The gaslighting is astonishing. The ones who need to calm down are the ones who find any little perceived slight, no matter how hysterical, to pick at.
EvieBoo2 · 15/02/2021 11:00

So are thousands of other women. I wish them all the best too.

Cokie3 · 15/02/2021 11:02

@31RooCambon FWIW I haven't reported any of the posts on this thread, and I too have been the victim of vexatious reporting and had posts deleted on other threads for things that would not be deleted on any other normal board. I disagree with what you say, but I haven't seen any reason for your posts to be deleted; this site is so delete-happy it's like walking on eggshells sometimes.

Sparklingbrook · 15/02/2021 11:05

any other normal board

Such as? You would say this site is 'delete happy' if you're the one being constantly deleted. It's probably down to what you post though.

Roussette · 15/02/2021 11:10

Cokie3
Exactly.
Telling someone to 'calm down' is PA rudeness
But it says more about the poster than the original post they are responding to in my book

LizzieMacQueen · 15/02/2021 11:16

Is Harry still in the line of succession then, I mean if this child is going to be 8th in line?

DenisetheMenace · 15/02/2021 11:16

Today 08:46 Roussette

Private citizens don't post about their lives on public access websites unless they want to court publicity

Bearing in mind this baby will be something like 8th in line to the throne, it would be extremely odd not to announce a pregnancy and birth“

This. No opinion about them. Lovely photograph.
