I don’t think I’ll ever hear of a baby Gary.

I know two adult Gary’s and both are in their 50’s now

It'll be a while before people are ready for Dick and Fanny again I reckon.

When I was a child my Nan and great aunties had names like Rose, Lily, Daisy , May (so flower names I suppose) and they sounded so old lady names to me ! Now they’re all really popular for little girls .

Girls in my school were all called Debbie, Lisa, Tracy, Michelle, Susan - I don’t hear little girls called those names now.

SleepingStandingUp · 11/02/2021 13:02

If have thought Ian but there was one near us in hospital when DS was a baby so he'd be 5 now.

Grenville?
Barbara? Youngest I know is 39

I have a very strong memory of visiting my Aunt Isobel, I must have been about 10. I remember talking to my friend after and we were laughing and saying what an awful old fashioned name it was...this was in the early 80's. So, you really never know what will come back and when...

Soubriquet · 11/02/2021 13:02

I also think names like Frank won’t be coming back. But at the same time, people like Frankie instead Confused

Brenda, Sharon, Donna, Tracey, Gary and Kevin.

Soubriquet · 11/02/2021 13:03

Isobel? Really?

I would have thought that was quite modern

Lisa!

I haven’t met a young Lisa. In fact I’ve ever known one who is my Aunt and she’s in her late 30’s early 40’s

Donna. It’s awful. Tracy, also awful. Stacey too.

Igglepigglepeppaandgeorge · 11/02/2021 13:10

I know under 10s named Gary, Lorraine, Donna and Colin. Where on earth do some of you live lol?!

AtLeastThreeDrinks · 11/02/2021 13:10

I came to say Gary! I can't see David coming back either (baby Dave!). Even Christopher seems on the out

Soubriquet · 11/02/2021 13:11

What about Damien?

I don’t think it’s a terrible name but it’s possibly associated with evil too much for people to want to name their baby after it
