I am doing spagetti bolognese tonight.

But otherwise i love sundried tomatos and spinach in cream; or prawns in a chilli sauce.

I need some new ideas. :)

Oh and how did I forget the Venetian duck ragu recipe from one of the BBC sites. Lot more work than sage butter though!

Chewbecca · 08/02/2021 17:22

I am too Envy at Gino to try any of his recipes, even if that means missing out on heavenly pasta dishes!

goose1964 · 08/02/2021 17:26

Any with seafood. There's a restaurant we used to go to for family get together who did a linguine marinara which was to die for.

I love carbonara and I'm ashamed to say that I love proper carbonara and nasty ready meal in a creamy sauce carbonara almost equally!!

I also have a lovely Gennaro Contaldo recipe with spaghetti, red onion, carrots, tinned tuna and lots of olive oil. It sounds dreadful but it turns tinned tuna into something sublime!!

SheldonesqueIsUnwell · 08/02/2021 17:32

Linguine al limone.

Sometimes with prawns.

Also with chilli, garlic, parsley and oil.

LadyEloise · 08/02/2021 17:39

Penne or similar, prawns, asparagus, cream, garlic and a drop of white wine.

SnowBs · 08/02/2021 17:39

@Autumn101

Roasted aubergine, cherry tomatoes and garlic - amazing!
This sounds delicious. Would you be able to share the recipe or link to one? Wine

My favourite is carbonara, well It’s not traditionally a carbonara because my favourite version has chicken in it too (I first had it with chicken at prezzo and it was delicious so now I love it that way)
Or I also love Jamie Oliver’s ‘jool’s pregnancy’ pasta

GlumyGloomer · 08/02/2021 17:53

Love carbonara too, but there are 2 distinct versions, with and without cream.
For without cream cook the pasta (we actually use penne as the kids find it easier to eat), fry the bacon, separate the eggs (we use 7 eggs for 2 adults, 1 child, 1 toddler). Mix the egg yolks with a lot of grated parmesan and black pepper, then add the cooked bacon. When the pasta is ready drain and return to the pan, then add the egg mix. The heat if the pan cooks the egg, you're aiming for runny fried egg yolk consistency. It is absolutely delicious, but very rich.
I also love a 3 cheese maccaroni cheese (cheddar, red Leicester, parmesan) with tuna and sweetcorn in.

StepOutOfLine · 08/02/2021 17:57

Blimey that's a very eggy carbonara!
I use 1 whole egg and 1 yolk for 3 of us. Always with short pasta.

My favourites are lasagne, carbonara, and, in summer, seafood.

gerbilfur · 08/02/2021 17:58

Amatriciana. Tomato, garlic, bacon. I like olives in it too

GlumyGloomer · 08/02/2021 17:58

@rc22 me too! Grin Dh makes the carbonara in our house though and the other sort is not permitted, lol.

SmudgeButt · 08/02/2021 17:59

It's more about the pasta than the sauce for me - I like a fusilli or shells so that there's more sauce attached!

50shadesoflunacy · 08/02/2021 18:02

I also love pregnant Jools pasta, it is delicious

Kab30 · 08/02/2021 18:05

Oooo could I have recipe for chicken alfredo please xx

LizBennet · 08/02/2021 18:10

Chicken Alfredo

That’s the recipe I use, very simple and nice.

APurpleSquirrel · 08/02/2021 18:18

We regularly have:
Chicken, Nduja & Tomato Mascarpone
Chicken & Pesto
Sausage, Pesto, Broccoli & Pinenuts
Zizzi's Casareccie Pollo Piccante
Pasta Bolognese
Chicken, leeks, mushroom, spinach & cream
Bacon, Broccoli & Pesto
Meatballs

LandGirlJudy · 08/02/2021 18:19

Tuna tagliatelle

Onion and mushrooms caramelised in the oil of some tinned tuna in sunflower oil, cook tagliatelle, drain, then just stir onion and mushroom with the tuna into the tagliatelle and stir in some cream. So simple but absolutely delicious. Been making it for a good 14 years or more and nobody has ever disliked it

bloodyhairy · 08/02/2021 18:19

Red pesto, chicken, creme fraiche and spring onions.

FlatteredRhubardFool · 08/02/2021 18:20

Ziti. The recipe called for sausage but we are veggie so left it out. Bloody amazing.

Gnocchi with mushrooms, spinach and red peppers in a tomato sauce with a touch of cream and chilli.

Vegetarian or vegetable lasagne.

I've never had carbonara but I don't do eggs really so I've never fancied it even before I was veggie

bloodyhairy · 08/02/2021 18:21

Green pesto, bacon and peas. Usually goes down well with kids.

Livingthedream89 · 08/02/2021 18:22

I love Casareccia Pollo Piccante from Zizzi restaurants and thought I would try it myself and it's amazing. Make it most weeks DH enjoys it aswell often asks for it especially Smile

You will need:

Chicken breasts
Cherry plum tomatoes
Spinach
Casarecce pasta
Double cream
Belazu Harissa paste - this is the key, no other harissa paste will do I'm afraid!
Seasoning
Olive oil

I google zizzi pollo piccante and it shows the way to cook it I honestly can't recommend enough!

Mominatrix · 08/02/2021 18:23

Spaghetti with sea urchin sauce. That would definitely be on my last supper menu.

StepOutOfLine · 08/02/2021 18:26

I use ziti for most pasta dishes, it's my favourite shape. Grin No idea why.

Stovetopespresso · 08/02/2021 18:28

[quote JimmyTheBrave]I regularly make Nigella Lawson's Spaghetti alla puttanesca

www.nigella.com/recipes/sluts-spaghetti

And I've recently discovered Jamie Oliver's green spaghetti which is probably one of the easiest meals I've ever made, and it's so tasty! I'm guessing it's from his '5 ingredients' series:

the green spaghetti sounds amazing @JimmyTheBrave
