No E or A names
Scottish nod (both Elliot & Arthur are also clan names)
Needs to be a saint name
Agnes for a middle name

Beatrice was my first thought.

I’m neither Scottish nor religious, sorry.

floristowen · 01/02/2021 21:34

Beatrice is lovely actually- is it too much like Betty? My evil step-mother lol

Margot was my first thought no idea why.
Is there a Margot in the bible?

Graymare · 01/02/2021 21:35

Margaret, Queen of Scotland in 11th century, later canonised.

floristowen · 01/02/2021 21:36

I love all of these names. Martha maybe too much like Arthur? Mary and Catherine are family names ... Cecilia is beautiful, I name I’d forgotten about.

I don’t think Beatrice is too much like Betty, no.

Though it might be fun to have MIL think you named baby after her when you totally didn’t Grin

EachandEveryone · 01/02/2021 21:46

Bea is beautiful

SomethingOnce · 01/02/2021 21:46

Sorry, SM not MIL!

floristowen · 01/02/2021 21:46

Flora is my favourite but can’t convince husband it’s not a margarine. I love it though as after a Scottish heroine, a beautiful meaning and a saints name. Plus sounds classic but contemporary ... it hurts how much I love this name!

floristowen · 01/02/2021 21:47

Isabella is beautiful too ... although a cousin has a daughter named Isabel so kind of ruins it.

There is one name we both like, wee nod to my grandmother as is a variation. Don’t like any of the nicknames but increasingly I think it’s ‘the name’. A bit dated but perhaps due a comeback? Christina
