@PeterRabbitt

Goodnight Mr Tom

I'm dreading this book/film ever being part of my kids school syllabus 😟

My dd3 did this book in year 4. I have never read but dd1 had and she thought it was not appropriate for this age group.

@ReggieKrait Pixar’s Coco is on a lot in our house atm as my daughter loves the songs. The message about life after death is way over her head, but I’ve been mulling over it for weeks. It’s a beautiful film.

I sobbed for about the last 10 minutes in the cinema when I watched it. And I don't mean shed some tears. I full on cried and was stifling the sound.

Namechanged2021 · 01/02/2021 21:26

One flew over the cuckoo's nest, Requiem for a dream, Shallow Grave, Evil dead, Hellraiser.

ReggieKrait · 01/02/2021 21:30

@MolyHolyGuacamole I’m not surprised! I must have seen it every single day for at least a week and I still cry when Coco and Hector are reunited just before they walk over the bridge, and he hugs her and spins her around. For me it’s my granny being reunited with her dad - she loved him so much and used to talk about him all the time when I was a child. I really hope they’re together now.

Pay It Forward for me

Caesargeezer · 01/02/2021 21:38

The hours. I cried so much.

Sarahlou63 · 01/02/2021 21:38

Strange Relations (AKA) My Beautiful Son. Stunning performance by Julie Walters. If you're adopted - watch it. Same with Philomena.

niceupthedance · 01/02/2021 21:46

A monster calls - don't forget your tissues

And Arrival was brilliant

@BonnesVacances yes! Life is Beautiful is an AMAZING film. I’ve never felt strong enough to watch it for a second time it affected me so much the first time.

It’s probably a cliche but Saving Private Ryan. When he was an old man he really, really looked like my Grandad. When he asks if he’s been good enough I just howled, for hours after! So much so that DH finally told me to get a grip Blush

KezzabellaB · 01/02/2021 22:10

The Accused. Amazing performances from Jodie Foster and Kelly McGillis but oh so disturbing and unforgettable.

WhispersOfWickedness · 01/02/2021 22:25

Heavenly Creatures.
Started watching it one night when I was home alone as a teen, I had no idea at all what it was about. Genuinely did not see the murder coming at all, and then there was the bit at the end about it being a true story!! Could not sleep at all that night Blush

notangelinajolie · 01/02/2021 22:36

Out of Africa. I sobbed my heart out when I watched that.

Minnie6078 · 01/02/2021 22:41

Oldboy

Glenchase · 01/02/2021 22:43

Before Sunrise and both sequels. They’re so real and I relate so painfully to the emotions they express.

hamstersarse · 01/02/2021 22:53

DenisetheMenace · 01/02/2021 23:04

James Brolin

Sophie's choice.

(Bastard nazis)

Remona · 01/02/2021 23:14

A Star Is Born (the recent version). It just upset me so much. The sadness of the ending. I couldn’t get it out of my head for days.

Changeling. A great film but terribly sad. Once was enough.
