Yes, @DWPmisery1972, my DH is doing the mad scientist look: his hair is white by now so it’s quite convincing!

Work for me all day, including a presentation over Zoom at lunchtime (groan). Plus doing some of the homeschooling for DD, though DH takes most of the strain of that. Then tonight is takeaway night, which is what passes for excitement round here at the moment.

Is it just me who feels quite positive that vaccines are having an effect on transmission as I can't remember cases falling this much in any of the other lockdowns?

Not just you. I’m reassured by the angle if the case graph, it was a much slower fall in the spring. Though I’m not sure the over-80s are important in spreading it, so it may be that a fair number of workers have already had it by now so it’s spreading less in workplaces that are open.

It’s the little things at the moment isn’t it Dr- for me it’s when they release old films from my childhood onto Netflix, I get terribly excited

We have a film night planned for tonight (a Friday tradition) but it's work for the rest of the day.

I'm loving all the lovely cat pictures. I'd like a cat but we're surrounded by fields and I couldn't cope with all the undead gifts it'd bring.

I hope the news of hospitality staying closed until May isn't true. Those poor workers. Also poor me. That means I'll be continuing to cook every meal for months. I think my Easter holiday is looking increasingly unlikely.

I've noticed the traffic signs on the way to work have been altered to say 'hands, face, space' It makes my blood boil every time I stop at the lights. I also had the misfortune of seeing one of the 'look into my eyes' posters walking back from work.

We do get a lot of small furry and feathered bodies... oddly enough it's the fluffy, clumsy, cream puff of a cat that's the killer... the sleek, black, ninja looking one is too lazy!

It is a very pleasing sight... he's also fond of the tumble dryer!

I think it's also because so many of the NHS and care home staff are now vaccinated. We have always talked about spread in those settings here even though on most of MN it was dismissed but hopefully the vaccination is stopping that spread. Obviously HCPs don't want to spread it but it is a factor in the spread none the less. I imagine the top vaccine priority groups make up a greater proportion of the patients in hospital so could be reducing patient to patient spread as well.

Sending one of my dogs (we have 3!) as we are currently catless, we had four at one point, but last Dcat passed away aged 13 in August and we hope to move next year after DH retires and get a kitten 🐱

I am quite seriously missing the hairdresser! My hair is very very bleached and coloured on top, and in a cut that's not a one that I can replicate at home - and grows bloody fast so I look a right fucking mess now.

It's the one thing I really spend on myself and I go every month religiously so this is killing me.

I get a day out today - for my covid jab. Yes I'm massively obese - but I'm getting it as they're doing healthcare students who do clinical placements as well as healthcare staff.
