Confused

Me and DH are freaking out a bit. At about 10pm we heard the letterbox go while we were watching TV but didn't immediately check it. We've just got up to head to bed and it's a tiny little ziplock bag (like 50p sized tiny) with white lumpy powder in it Hmm

We're going to have to call 111 in the morning arent we? Really freaked and going to struggle to sleep now!

What the actual fuck Confused

@sofiaaaaaa, no, not naive, just sarcastic, as you say anyone who dropped it off (runner or fecking idiot dropping something off for a mate) very unlikely to take the risk. intended customer ditto, imo, even if they could work out where it had been sent.

Crinkle77 · 23/01/2021 23:20

Also if the drugs are on tick the dealer may well come knocking. Not a given that they've already been paid.

movingonup20 · 23/01/2021 23:20

Ps the police switchboard really won't mind you reporting it, it's not like the phone operators are out catching criminals, their job is to answer phones

Ginfordinner · 23/01/2021 23:20

Unfortunately we get a lot of drugs left on a popular walking trail and a few dogs have died after ingesting them. You did the right thing by picking them up deste.

Blacksheepcat · 23/01/2021 23:21

Sounds like a tiny bag of coke....no one is gonna come knocking for it.
We’re in lockdown, have fun with it! X

CantBeAssed · 23/01/2021 23:22

@sophiaaaaa..i agree, your naive if you think "joyce at no.32" wouldnt dabbleGrin

HibernatingTill2030 · 23/01/2021 23:23

@Crinkle77

Nah, they're more likely to go after the people who ordered them I reckon. After all, where is the proof they were bought t the wrong address? The big dealers won't be out posting and taking the risks. It'll be kids roped into county lines shit, most likely.
NiceGerbil · 23/01/2021 23:24

'. This might be a key part in any number of different things'

Grin

I think what will happen is

Customer will have rung and says where's my gear.
Guy will say put through letterbox
Customer says nope. I'm no 32
Guy checks with courier and finds its wrong house
Guy sends another as he wants to keep his customers

kingkuta · 23/01/2021 23:24

They would post to addresses and if they didn't seeem to mind they would make bigger drug shipments
So they would just post lots of free drugs to random addresses? Yeah that happened.

colouringindoors · 23/01/2021 23:24

Not tempted to try? Wink

Bouledeneige · 23/01/2021 23:25

Don't worry about it. Wrong delivery address.

Have a fun evening!!!

Heyahun · 23/01/2021 23:25

Really wouldn’t be getting too worked up about this tbh a tiny bag - the police won’t care about it and won’t do anything!

Chuck it and forget about it tbh

Crinkle77 · 23/01/2021 23:26
@Crinkle77 that wasn’t my point, in my experience older people aren’t as adept with tech to arrange this. This isn’t your standard drug deal
People in their 30's and 40's are quite capable of using tech so could easily have arranged it. Alternatively it could easily have been on tick and the dealer is new to the 'round' and put it through the wrong letter box. The main dealers quite often don't do the drops themselves but will have several 'grafters' that work for them - many of which are just a phone call away.

Redburnett · 23/01/2021 23:26

It may be unwise to report to police in case you get an officer who decides you are in possession of something illegal.......The chance of the police actually following it up is minimal. Just bin it.

Cordial11 · 23/01/2021 23:26

I'm here for the update Grin

kingkuta · 23/01/2021 23:27

How much powder is in it OP? Is it bagged up inside the zip lock?

UmmWTF · 23/01/2021 23:29

Well I'm not completely naive and would say its definitely a variety of cocaine! Its a very small amount so very much hoping they will write it off and not come back...

I have now called 101 and someone will collect it in the morning, very much hoping that will be the end of it...

If it had happened while we were in bed then it would likely have been 6yo DS who found it in the morning as he tends to come down first, so I'm not able to be as laid back about it as some of you as thats a very unpleasant thought...

They did ask if we had a ring doorbell or anything to identify them so they absolutely did care, for what it's worth!

I went on a tinder date with a guy once and he called through a drugs order to his dealer whilst we were on the date(a quiet drink in a high street pub on a bloody Tuesday night!), and the dealer hid it taped inside a random letterbox for him to collect. Apparently he also used to leave it hidden in cigarette boxes in the wheel arch of a random car to be collected too. Or taped inside some poor unsuspecting persons green bin. Maybe this time they just forgot the tape 🤣

I obviously DID NOT go on another date with Mr Schoolnight Bender!

I would just flush it down the toilet. If you tell the police about it,they may start asking you if you have any more in the house. It would depend on how they viewed some drugs being posted through the door though.

BananaPop2020 · 23/01/2021 23:32

@Redburnett that is NOT going to happen.

kingkuta · 23/01/2021 23:32

Hilarious that pp thinks people in 30s/40s aren't 'adept enough with tech' to arrange for a drop off at their house Grin

UmmWTF · 23/01/2021 23:33

Its quite a new estate so they likely got the right number but wrong street, so tbf the intended recipient probably has no way of know which of the many wrong streets it was delivered to
